Short discrete fibers compounded with concrete can enhance the tensile resistance and ductility of concrete. Recently, the effectiveness of the reinforcement has increased according to the increasing length of steel fiber. However, the lengthening of steel fiber requires reducing the ratio of the fiber content to remain the workability and quality of concrete. Thus, the present study evaluated the flexural performance of fiber reinforced concrete with less than l.0% fiber volume ratios of steel fiber, 30mm and 60mm long, and polypropylene fiber, being evaluated as a good reinforcing material with chemical stability, long-term durability, and cost effectiveness. Concrete with more than 0.25% steel and 0.5% polypropylene fibers improved the brittle failure of concrete after reaching cracking strength. Concrete reinforced with polypropylene exhibited deflection-softening behavior, but that with more than 0.5% polypropylene delayed stress reduction and recovered flexural strength by 60 to 80% after cracking strength. In conclusion, concrete reinforced with more than 0.75% polypropylene could improve structural flexural performance. In particular, energy absorption capacity of reinforced concrete with 1.0% polypropylene fiber was similar to that with 0.5% and 0.7% steel fibers.

High strength concrete(HSC) is made with Fiber-cocktail to control the spalling of HSC. In this paper, the column is made with PP fiber of $1.5kg/m^3$ and steel fiber of 20, 30, $40kg/m^3$, and the test are observed the temperature of reinforced bars and concrete. The results that increasing of temperature is delay as increase of steel fiber's volume.

A spalling is defined as the damages of concrete exposed to high temperature during the fire by causing cracks and localized bursting of small pieces of concrete. It is reported that spalling is caused by the vapor pressure and polypropylene(PP) fiber has an important role in protecting from spalling. The characteristics of fire resistance of high-strength reinforced concrete columns with various concrete strength and various contents of PP fiber were investigated in this study. In results, the ratio of unstressed residual strength of columns increases as the concrete strength increases and the ratio of unstressed residual strength of columns exposed to fire decreases as the content of PP fiber increases from 0% to 0.2%.

This study evaluated fire resistance performance for polypropylene/steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete column. Full-size columns were constructed and tested with or without fibers using ISO-834 fire curve. As the result of test, non-fiber high strength concrete column specimen occurred serious spalling and indicated rapidly internal temperature increase. Specimen with polypropylene fiber occurred not spalling. Specimen with hybrid fiber occurred not spalling as well as does not propagated temperature propagation. Therefore, hybrid fiber reinforced column specimen indicated a good fire resistance performance than other cases.

The study conducted an experiment in which residual aggregate and polypropylene fibers are mixed in concrete, and an experiment in which granite and polypropylene fibers are mixed. Two types of experiments, in particular, changed the amount of polypropylene fibers, and examined the mechanical properties of slump, compressive strength, tensile strength and the like. To establish a light and easy-to-use material for landscape construction and packaging material development by comparing two kinds of experimental results, comparing and analyzing residual aggregate as experimental materials and materials using granite soil to prevent partial destruction due to cracks in drying shrinkage. The more the amount of the PP fibers increases in concrete, the more the volume of the PP fibers increases, the less the slump is determined. As a result of the compressive strength, the cast-down earth concrete is measured to be about 59% to 71% of the concrete strength. As the amount of PP fibers mixed in increased, the compression strength showed a relative decrease. As a result of tensile strength, it is found that the granite concrete is about 68-67% of concrete tensile strength. It was found that the compression strength decreased as the amount of PP fibers mixed in concrete or fire-gant concrete was increased. Then, when polypropylene fibers are mixed in the concrete and the concrete, it is found that tensile strength is increased. By analyzing these results, a fixed amount of PP fiber is mixed in the concrete mixed with the granite soil and utilized for various structures in the field of landscape construction or materials related to packaging, the prevention and improvement effect of the structure is determined.
This study was to evaluate bond properties between high-strength steel fiber reinforced concrete and high strength steel rebar. An direct bond test were performed to evaluate the bond performance of high strength steel rebar in two types of high-strength concrete with steel fiber volume fraction (0, 20, $40kg/m^3$). Also, relative bond strength was defined to determine the effect of steel fiber volume fraction on bond strength. The bond test results showed that the bond performance of high strength steel rebar and high strength concrete tended to increase with higher compressive strength and steel fiber volume fraction. Relative bond strength which performed to analyze effect of steel fiber volume fraction showed increased relative bond strength with increased steel fiber volume fraction.

Fibers reinforced concrete(FRC) has abilities to make up for brittleness fracture as one of the material characteristics of concrete. However, being mixed with steed fibers in concrete mixes could set off a "Fiber Ball". The Fiber ball formation could be one of the main reasons to decrease the quality of Fibers reinforced concrete. In order to eliminate the fiber ball formation and improve the deficient flowablitiy, The necessity of research for fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete(FRC-SCC) should be raised.

Recently, to prevent explosive spalling of high-strength concrete (HSC) members, the usage of nylon fiber instead of polypropylene fiber has increased. Past experimental studies have been conducted to examine the spalling and mechanical properties of HSC with nylon fibers when exposed to elevated temperature. However, the previous studies on HSC with nylon fibers subjected to high temperatures were performed only on the properties such as spalling, compressive strength, and elastic modulus rather than investigations on to the behaviors such as thermal strain, total strain, steady state creep, and transient creep. Therefore, in this study thermal strain, total strain, steady state creep, and transient creep of HSC mixed with nylon fibers with water to binder ratio of 0.30 to 0.15 were tested. The experimental results showed that nylon fibers did not affect the performance of HSC with nylon fibers at high temperatures. However, HSC with nylon fibers generated a larger transient creep strain than that of HSC without fibers and normal strength concrete.
Uniaxial compression tests for ultra-high performance hybrid steel fiber reinforced concrete (UHPC) were performed to evaluate the compressive behavior of UHPC. The UHPC for testing contains hybrid steel fibers with a predetermined ratio using a length of 19 mm and 16 mm straight typed steel fibers. Test parameter was determined as a fiber volume ratio to investigate the effect of fiber volume ratio on the strength and secant modulus of elasticity. Test results showed that the compressive strength and elastic modulus of UHPC increased with increasing the fiber volume ratio. Based on the test results, the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity equations were proposed as function of the compressive strength of unreinforced and fiber reinforced UHPC, respectively. The simplified equations for predicting the mechanical properties of the UHPC were a good agreement with the test data. The proposed equations are expected to be applied to the SFRC and UHPC with steel fibers.

The purpose of this study is to estimate crack reduction properties of covering concrete with fibers in basement. Air contents, slump, compressive strength, tensile strength and plastic shrinkage has been tested to conduct the optimum addition ratio and type of fiber. The results is a following. For the properties of air contents, all of the specimens added fibers shown the higher than plain concrete. For the flowability, slump decreased about 40-80% when all of the specimens added fibers. For the strength properties, the specimens added nylon fiber shown higher compressive and tensile strength about 5-15% comparing with other concrete. For the plastic shrinkage, cracking decreased when the fiber added comparing with plain concrete. Especially, when nylon fiber added in the concrete, the plastic shrinkage did not occurred. For the overall consideration, when the addition ratio of nylon fiber is 0.6%, the press concrete is identified as showed optimum properties.
