A Study on Method of Evaluation for Deck Pavement (교면포장의 평가 방법 고찰)

  • 토목 기술의 발달로 장대교량이 증가함에 따라 교면 포장도 더 심각한 진동 및 충격, 기상조건에 노출되게 된다. 교면 포장은 차량의 주행의 편리성뿐 아니라 교량 구조물을 보호해야 하는 역할도 함께 수행하기 때문에 일반 토공부의 포장과 다른 성능을 필요로 한다. 교면 포장의 특수함을 감안하여 교면 포장의 품질을 평가하고, 설계와 적용시 반영 한다면 교량의 내구 연한 및 시공, 유지관리 비용을 절감 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 교면 포장에 요구되는 성능을 조사하고, 교면 포장 특히, 장대 교량 적용시 교면 포장의 성능 평가를 위한 평가 방법을 고찰하였다. 교면 포장의 가장 큰 구조적 특징은 교량의 진동과 휨에 의해 포장이 받게 되는 휨응력이다. 특히 교량의 장경간화에 따라 더 큰 진동과 변형을 경험하게 되는 교면 포장은 그에 따른 충분한 휨 추종성과 피로 저항성을 확보하여야 한다. 기존 토공부 포장에서는 실험이 간단한 원통형 공시체를 이용한 간접인장강도 모드의 실험으로 피로 성능을 평가하였으나, 교면 포장은 실제 거동 특성과 유사한 빔 피로 시험 모드가 보다 신뢰성이 높을 것으로 판단된다. 빔 피로시험 모드로는 3점, 4점, 5점 휨 피로 시험 모드가 있으며, 각각의 모드는 지지점의 개수, 재하점의 개수에 따라 다른 거동 특성을 평가 할 수 있다. 최근 개발된 5점 휨 시험의 경우 교량에서 발생하는 부(-)모멘트를 모사할 수 있어 보다 현실적인 검증이 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 이 외에도 실제 크기 모형을 이용하여 윤하중을 가하는 Full-scale 모델의 경우 비용과 시간이 많이 소요되는 단점이 있으나 가장 신뢰성이 높은 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 교면 포장은 교량구조부로 수분이 침투되는 것을 막아주는 역할을 하여야 하며, 특히 해상 교량의 경우의 염분과 겨울철 사용되는 제빙화학제는 콘크리트의 열화와 강구조물의 부식을 발생시키므로 교면 포장의 방수 성능 검토는 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 일반 토공부 포장과 달리 교면 포장은 하부층이 대기에 노출되어 있기 때문에 겨울철에 더 낮은 온도로 포장체의 온도가 내려가게 되고, 온도가 떨어진 포장층은 스티프니스가 증감함에 따라 저온 균열의 발생확율이 높아지며, 휨추종성도 나빠질 가능성이 높다. 따라서 저온에서의 균열 저항성 및 스티프니스를 평가하는 것은 교면 포장 재료의 중요한 인자 중 하나이다. 포장과 포장 하부층의 접착은 포장층의 일체화된 거동을 할 수 있게 하기 때문에 내구성 향상에 중요하다. 특히 교량과 같이 진동과 변형이 많은 경우에 있어 포장 접착층의 성능은 포장과 교량 구조물의 파손에 더 큰 영향을 미치게 된다. 접착성능은 실내에서의 직접인장모드와 전단접착강도 시험 모드의 실험이 있으며, 현장에서 측정하는 Pull-off 실험 등이 있다. 최근에 교통량과 중차량의 증가와 더불어 교량이 장경간화 되어 가면서 평가방법과 기준을 과거보다 엄격하게 할 필요성이 있다. 하지만 현실은 교면포장에 대한 시방규정이 모호하기 때문에 본 논문에서 제시한 국내외의 다양한 평가방법을 통해 적절한 교면포장의 성능을 평가하고 교면포장의 거동특성에 대한 이해를 함으로써 보다 발전된 교량기술을 확보할 수 있을 것이다.

Study on the Viscous Roll Damping around Circular Cylinder Using Forced Oscillations (강제동요를 이용한 원형실린더 점성 롤댐핑 연구)

  • The roll damping problem in the design of ships and offshore structures remains a challenge to many researchers due to the fluid viscosity and nonlinearity of the phenomenon itself. In this paper, the study on viscous roll damping of a circular cylinder was carried out using forced oscillations. The roll moment generated by forced oscillation using a torque sensor was measured for each forced oscillation period and compared with the empirical formula. Although the magnitude of the measured torque from the shear force was relatively small, the results were qualitatively similar to those obtained from the empirical formula, and showed good agreement with the quantitative results in some oscillation periods. In addition, the flow around the circular cylinder wall was observed closely through the PIV measurements. Owing to the fluid viscosity, a boundary layer was formed near the wall of the circular cylinder, and a minute wave was generated by periodical forced oscillations at the free surface through the PIV measurement. In this study, the suitability of the empirical formula for the roll moment caused by viscous roll damping was verified by model tests. The wave making phenomenon due to the fluid viscosity around the wall of a circular cylinder was testified by PIV measurements.

Optimization of tunnel support patterns using DEA (차분진화 알고리즘을 적용한 터널 지보패턴 최적화)

  • It is important to design tunnel support system considering the various loads acting on the tunnel because they have a direct impact on the stability of tunnels. In Korea, standardized support patterns are defined based on the rock mass classification system depending on the project, and it is stated that it should be modified appropriately considering the behavior of tunnel during construction. In this study, the tunnel support pattern optimization method is suggested based on the convergence-confinement method, earth pressure, axial force of rock bolt, and moment acting on the shotcrete. The length and spacing of the rock bolts and the thickness of the shotcrete were optimized by using the differential evolution algorithm (DEA) and the results were compared to the standard support pattern III for railway tunnel. Rock bolt length can be reduced and the installation interval can be widened for shallow tunnel. As the depth of tunnel increases, the thickness of shotcrete increases linearly. Therefore, the thickness of shotcrete should be thicker than the standard support pattern as the depth of tunnel increases to secure the stability of tunnel.

  • Electric arc furnace slag is made in ironworks during steel refining, it is been increasing chemical and physical resistibility using ageing method of unstable state of melting steel slag for using concrete's fine aggregates. Which is been changing stable molecular structure of aggregates, it restrains moving of ion and molecule. In Korea, KS F 4571 has been prepared for using the electric arc furnace slag to concrete aggregates. In this study, Electric arc furnace slag is used in the PMC(Polymer Modified Concrete) which is applied a bridge pavement of rehabilitation, largely. In that case, this study evaluates the structural safety about increasing the specific weight. The 4-type bridges(RC slab bridge, RC rigid-frame bridge, PSC Beam bridge, Steel box girder bridge) pavement's increasing the total dead load is in 1 ~ 2%. Design moments in a load combination are increased less then 2%. safety factor is decreased less than 3%. Therefore, the structural safety has no problem for applying the electric arc furnace slag within PMC in bridge.

New Approach for Shear Capacity Prediction of High Strength Concrete Beams without Stirrups (스터럽이 없는 고강도 콘크리트 보의 전단강도 예측을 위한 새로운 예측식의 제안)

  • In the shear failure mechanism of a beam, beam and arch actions always exist simultaneously. According to the shear span to depth ratio, the proportion between these two actions is varied and the contribution of these actions to shear capacity is changed. Moreover, the current codes provide recommendations based on experimental results of normal strength concrete, so the application range of concrete strength must be extended. Based on this mechanism and new requirement, a simplified analytical equation for shear capacity prediction of reinforced high strength concrete beams without stirrups is proposed. To reflect the change in the contribution between these actions, stress variation in the longitudinal reinforcement along the span is considered by use of the Jenq and Shah Model. Dowel action with horizontal splitting failure and shear friction between cracks are also taken into account. ize effect is included to derive a more precise equation. Regression analysis is performed to determine each variable and simplify the equation. And, the formula derived from theoretical approaches is evaluated by comparison with numerous experimental data, which are in broad range of concrete strength(especially in high strength concrete), shear span to depth ratio, geometrical size and longitudinal steel ratio. It is shown that the proposed equation is more accurate and simpler than other empirical equations, so a wide range of a/d can be considered in one equation.

  • Two Cable-Stayed bridge on south coast in Korea has not constructed until a quarter of a century past since the beginning of it's own era. Our country is about to be interested in such a type of bridge. It has succeeded in constructing the 500 m spanned bridge against wind and earthquake in other several countries. Many contries are striving for designning a long spanned bridge to 1000m. For the realization of such a long spanned bridge in Korea clues to the problems, "How to design it", should be solved one by one. One of difficulties is in analysing the mechanical system because of multi-orter indeterminacy. In this study one of the numerical methods is proposed in order to eliminate the troublesome.

Structure & Installation Engineering for Offshore Jack-up Rigs

  • Jack-up drilling rigs are widely used in offshore oil and gas exploration industry. It is originally designed for use in the shallow waters less than 60m of water depth; there is growing demand for their use in deeper water depth over 150m and harsher environmental conditions. In this study, global in-place analysis of jack-up rig leg for North-sea oil well is performed through numerical analysis. Firstly, environmental conditions and seabed characteristics at the North-sea are collected and investigated measurements from survey report. Based on these data, design specifications are established and the overall basic design is performed. Dynamic characteristics of the jack-up rig for North-sea are considered in the global in-place analysis both leg and hull and the basic stability against overturning moment is also analyzed. The structural integrity of the jack-up rig leg/hull is verified through the code checks and the adequate safety margin is observed. The uncertainty in jack-up behaviour is greatly influenced by the uncertainties in the soil characteristics that determine the resistance of the foundation to the forces imposed by the jack-up structure. Among the risks above mentioned, the punch-through during pre-loading is the most frequently encountered foundation problem for jack-up rigs. The objective of this paper is to clarify the detailed structure and installation engineering matters for prove the structural safety of jack-up rigs during operation. With this intention the following items are addressed; - Characteristics of structural behavior considering soil effect against environmental loads - Modes of failure and related pre-loading procedure and parameters - Typical results of structural engineering and verification by actual measurement.

  • 미래 정보와 시대에서 중추적인 역할을 할 광관련 멀티미디어 장비들은 최근 관련 산업계에서 주목을 받기 시작하고 있고 특히 기존 VTR(Video Tape Recorder) 시장을 대체할 차세대 DVDR(Digital Video Disk Recorder)는 기술전쟁이라고 할 정도로 선진 기업의 연구가 치열해지고 있다. DVDR 시스템에서는 필요한 정보들을 레이저빔을 이용한 광학신호로 바꾸어 광디스크에 기록, 재생하는 광픽업이 절대적으로 필요하게 된다. 그런데 광픽업의 위치추종기구인 Actuator는 정확한 위치추종(.+-.1.$\mu$m 오차이내)을 할 수 있는 성능이 요구되며 서보의 특성상 20KHz 이하에서 불필요한 모우드가 가진되지 않는 정밀부품이어야 하므로 Actuator 각 부품의 동적인 특성을 명확히 규명할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 Actuator 각 부품과 가동부 전체의 중량 및 진동해석을 통해 동특성을 조사하였다. 그리고 Actuator의 중요한 기본성능중 하나인 구동감도 확보여부를 검토할 필요가 있기 때문에 유한요소법 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 자기회로 부분에 대한 해석을 구하였다. 또한 가동부와 자기회로 등 하위부품을 조립하는 과정에서 발생하는 조립오차로 인해 불필요한 공진과 회전형상이 야기될 수 있으므로 동특성 및 문제점 파악을 위한 민감도 분석이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가동부의 관성 모멘트 값과 강체에 대한 일반식을 이용한 자체 프로그램을 작성하여 조립공차를 구하였다. 이와같은 과정을 통해 구해진 설계값을 바탕으로 실제 제작된 Actuator에 대해서는 비접촉식 측정방법을 통해 동특성값을 측정하였고 이를 해석값과 상호 비교하였다.동강성행렬법(dynamic stiffness matrix method)을 이용하여 해석하고자 한다. 수준임이 입증되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로우리나라 젊고 건강한 남성에게 적합한 무게상수는 작업자군에 대하여 25.05kg, 학생군에 대하여 20.24kg 으로 나타나 이는 미국 NIOSH 안전기준과 대체로 일치함을 발견하였다.ive structures utilized in Client/server architecture for distribution and cooperative processing of application between server and client this study presents two different data management methods under the Client/server environment; one is "Remote Data Management Method" which uses file server or database server and. the other is "Distributed Data Management Method" using distributed database management system.   • The rahmen bridge is well known common type of bridge in which all members are connected rigidly. The rahmen bridge is built for several situations because it has many advantages such as no need of bridge bearing system, easy of maintenance, reduction of the cross-sectional area of superstructure, and relatively low construction cost compared with other bridge types. Recently, to lengthen the span of rahmen bridge system, steel-concrete composite beam is used for superstructure of rahmen bridge instead of normal concrete girder with slab. However, member forces are increased because of extension of span length of superstructure and substructure is designed and constructed inefficiently when steel-concrete composite rahmen bridge is designed. In this study, new-type steel-concrete composite bridge is suggested. New-type steel-concrete composite rahmen bridge is adopted hinge connection between abutment and foundation for the reduction of the bending momemt at the foundation. In this study, we present the results of experiment conducted to estimate the load carrying capacity of new-type steel-concrete composite rahmen bridge and the structural characteristics of hinge connection.

A Numerical and Experimental Study on Structural Performance of Noncomposite and Composite Eco-Arch Structures subjected to Concentrated Loads (집중하중을 받는 비합성.합성 생태아치구조물의 성능평가를 위한 수치해석 및 모형실험 연구)

  • In this study, noncomposite and composite eco-arch structures with I-beams and precast concrete(PC) decks were investigated. Four finite-element models(a steel-girder model, a steel-girder-and-several-PC-panels model, a three-steel-girder model, and a three-steel-girder-and-several-PC-panels model) using a general finite-element program, ABAQUS, were reviewed to predict the strength of the noncomposite and composite arch structures. Based on the results of the finite- element analysis, the behaviors of the four models were investigated, and deflection and strain gauges for the experimental specimen consisting of three steel girders and several PC panels were set up to obtain the ultimate strength. The ultimate strength of the specimen was estimated to be 1,961kN. The ultimate strength was much larger than the 1,380-kN load calculated using AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications(2007). The noncomposite and composite arch bridges were found to have enough strength for safety.
