Evaluation on Patching Materials for Asphalt Pavement (아스팔트 포장도로의 응급보수재료 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study presents the evaluation of the patching materials that are used to repair the distress of asphalt pavement. Four kinds of patching materials currently used in practice were tested in both laboratory and field. The laboratory tests included the dry and soaked Marshall stability test, indirect tensile test, wheel tracking test and adhesive strength between the asphalt pavement and the repairing material was tested as a performance test. The field study was conducted using the slab samples placed on the location of vehicle tire passing and the performance of the repairing materials were investigated as passing the traffic load. The result of the laboratory tests were satisfied with the current design criteria and material standard except for water-immersion stability. Type C patching material showed the highest adhesive shear strength among the patching materials tested. However, the mature distress, such as rutting and stripping were monitored after construction in 10 days. It was found that performance of patching material is lack of quality behavior when they were applied in the field and required to develop and applu to prevent the mature distress of the current patching materials.

  • The high flowability performance evaluation device for the concrete is the device which was designed to compensate from the incorrect data detection of the viscosimetry examination of the existing concrete. As for the existing concrete viscosimetry method, the measuring data for a viscosity are very irregular by the point of view of an experimenter and a supervisor, Therefore there were some problems to have many different opinions by a small numerical value difference according to the job characteristic. In this paper, we suggested some mechanism to compensate the problem and some driving electronics including the related algorithm, and the communication structure with wireless sensor network between the devices and users are also presented. The effectiveness of the suggested method was verified with a real experiment.

  • Fatigue analysis and lifetime evaluation are very important in design procedure for assuring the safety and reliability of rubber components for mechanical systems. Till recently, the technology for the design, analysis, and evaluation of rubber products was required to manufacture rubber products with high quality, fidelity, and reliability. However, in the rubber-manufacturing companies in Korea, the processes of compound mixing, manufacturing of rubber products, and improvement of rubber properties are based on the trial-and-error method and experience. The objectives of this study are to establish methods for testing rubber materials, to develop a database of the properties of rubber materials, to evaluate the performance of rubber components, and to develop a system for predicting fatigue life. A method to predict fatigue-life of rubber components was proposed; in this method, the finite-element analysis and fatigue damage parameter as determined from a fatigue test are incorporated.

Design and Performance Evaluation of Support Module for Modular Road System (모듈러 도로시스템을 위한 지지모듈 설계 및 성능평가)

  • As the number of using road in Korea increases, maintenance costs and traffic congestion costs also increase. In order to reduce maintenance cost and time of road, existing long - lived modular road system has been proposed. In this study, the design and performance evaluation of the adaptable support module, which is the substructure of the proposed system, was performed. Two adaptable (Cross-Beam type)support modules were designed and fabricated to determine the load and shape. A adaptable support module was constructed and a static load test was carried out to select the type with better performance. As a result of the load test, the maximum value of the measured earth pressure difference is about 158 kPa and the settlement amount is about 0.032 mm in the two types of adaptable support modules. Based on these results, it is concluded that the performance of the adaptable support module of the bottom curved cross-beam type is better.

  • 최근 급격한 기후변화에 의한 이상가뭄 발생 등을 대비하기 위한 비상용수 또는 대체 수자원으로서의 지하수 개발수요가 증가함에 따라 기저유량 확보 및 수질개선 방안을 수립하는 것은 지속가능한 수자원 이용 관리 측면에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 국내 지하수 사용에 따른 하천유량의 변동에 관한 연구는 활발히 진행되었으나, 실질적으로 적용가능한 지하수 저감 방안 및 지하 수질개선방안에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 바이오차를 이용하여 시험포를 설계 및 시공하였으며, 실내 인공강우 실험을 통해 지하 침투수 확보 능력 및 수질개선 효과를 평가하였다. 대조구는 폭 1 m × 길이 1 m × 깊이 0.60 m로 시공하였으며, 바이오차 시험포는 폭 1 m × 길이 1 m, 시험포 상단과 하단 각 0.10 m씩 대조구와 동일한 흙으로 채웠으며, 그 사이 0.40 m만큼은 바이오차를 채워서 시공하였다. 시험의 정밀도를 높이기 위해 동일한 조건으로 대조구와 바이오차 시험포 각 2개씩, 총 4개의 시험포를 시공하여 실내 인공강우 실험을 진행하였으며, 시험포에서 발생한 직접유출수와 기저유출수를 이용하여 바이오차의 지하 침투량 확보 및 수질개선효과를 분석하였다. 시험포 완공 후 총 2번의 실내인공강우 실험 결과 대조구에서 발생한 직접유출량은 총 0.214 m3, 바이오차 시험포에서는 총 0.194 m3로 대조구 대비 총 직접유출량 저감효과는 9.4%로 나타났다. 기저유출의 경우 바이오차 시험포(0.036 m3)에서 대조구(0.003 m3) 대비 약13배 많은 양의 기저유출수가 발생한 것으로 나타났다. 각 시험포에서 발생한 유출수의 오염부하를 산정해 대조구 시험포 대비 바이오차 시험포에서 발생한 직접유출수의 오염부하 저감효과를 분석한 결과 BOD5 항목과 CODMn 항목, 그리고 TOC 항목의 경우 26.3%과 22.0%, 그리고 27.6%로 저감 된 것으로 나타났으나, SS 항목과 T-N 항목, 그리고 T-P 항목의 경우 저감효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 바이오차는 지하 침투수 확보 능력은 효과적인 것으로 나타났으나, 직접유출수의 수질개선 효과는 미비한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 바이오차의 지하 침투량 및 수질개선 효과는 바이오차 생산 시 사용된 열분해 방식, 사용된 바이오차의 양 등에 따라 편차가 클것으로 판단되며, 바이오차의 생산 방법, 토양 흡착 기간, 바이오차의 양 등 다양한 조건에서의 모니터링을 통해 정량화 되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

Side Friction of Deep Foundation for Transmission Tower in Rock (암반에 설치된 송전철탑 심형기초의 주면마찰력 평가)

  • Six prototype field tests (five 1/8 and one 1/2 scale tests) have been conducted in order to determine the uplift resistance of deep foundation for transmission line structures. Test sites, located in the city of Eumseng in Choongbuk province, are classified as gneiss. These test results reveal failures not along the foundation-rock interface but either along the damaged surrounding rock mass caused by excavation or along the pre-existing rock joint. Test results also show the uplift resistance which is 20 $\sim$ 30% higher than the current design strength of side friction. In addition to fold tests, four concrete core samples between the liner plate and the surrounding rock mass have been obtained from the existing transmission foundations to study the effect of the liner plate which is installed prior to placing concrete. The compressive strength of these concrete core samples shows 63 $\sim$ 72% of the strength at the time of foundation construction. Side frictional resistance based on such less compacted concrete reaches satisfying uplift design strength.

  • 교원의 핵심 역량 중 지식 역량이나 수행 역량 등은 교직과정 이수 결과의 확인이나 지필 시험 또는 실기 시연 등을 통해 확인 또는 평가할 수 있다. 그러나 태도 역량이나 전문성 개발역량의 일부 요소들은 별도의 도구나 평가로 심사해야 된다. 전문성 개발 역량 가운데 자기반성 노력, 지속적 학습 노력, 교육 공동체 간 의사소통 및 협력 등의 요소들은 기존의 평가 방식으로 파악하기 어렵다. 따라서 교원의 핵심 역량을 평가하기 위해서는 교직 적성 및 인성 검사와 같은 별도의 도구가 필요하다. 본 논문은 교원자격을 강화하기 위한 교직 적성 및 인성 검사를 효율적으로 실시하기 위한 온라인 웹 검정 시스템을 설계하고자 한다.

A Comparative Study of Statistical Methods for Population Bioequivalence in 2 X 2 Crossover Design (2 X 2 교차설계법에서 모집단 생물학적 동등성 검정 방법 비교)

  • The US Food and Drug Administration(FDA) recommends that population bioequivalence and individual bioequivalence would be assessed to address the prescribability and switchability between a brand-name drug and its new formulation or generic copy in its 2001 guidance document. The test for population bioequivalence in the latest FDA guidance is recommended in 2 x 4 crossover design, but it turns out to be very conservative. Recently Lee, Shao & Chow(2002), Chow, Shao & Wang(2003) and McNally, Iyer & Mathew(2002) proposed new statistical methods for assessing population bioequivalence between drugs to correct the biasness of current FDA method. Since 2 x 2 crossover experiment is most welcomed design in bioequivalence testing, we adopt their methods to 2 x 2 crossover designs and compare their methodologies with FDA one through the simulation study.

Impact Tests and Numerical Simulations of Sandwich Concrete Panels for Modular Outer Shell of LNG Tank (모듈형 LNG 저장탱크 외조를 구성하는 샌드위치 콘크리트 패널의 충돌실험 및 해석)

  • Tests using a middle velocity propulsion impact machine (MVPIM) were performed to verify the impact resistance capability of sandwich concrete panels (SCP) in a modular liquefied natural gas (LNG) outer tank, and numerical models were constructed and analyzed. $2{\times}2m$ specimens with plain sectional characteristics and specimens including a joint section were used. A 51 kg missile was accelerated above 45 m/s and impacted to have the design code kinetic energy. Impact tests were performed twice according to the design code and once for the doubled impact speed. The numerical models for simulating impact behaviors were created by LS-DYNA. The external steel plate and filled concrete of the panel were modeled as solid elements, the studs as beam elements, and the steel plates as elasto-plastic material with fractures; the CSCM material model was used for concrete. The front plate deformations demonstrated good agreement with those of other tests. However the rear plate deformations were less. In the doubled speed test for the plain section specimen, the missile punctured both plates; however, the front plate was only fractured in the numerical analysis. The impact energy of the missile was transferred to the filled concrete in the numerical analysis.

Fatigue Strength Evaluation of Steel-Concrete Composite Bridge Deck with Corrugated Steel Plate (절곡강판을 이용한 교량용 강-콘크리트 합성 바닥판의 피로 성능평가)

  • This paper deals with the fatigue behavior and strength of a new-type of steel-concrete composite bridge deck. The new-type composite bridge deck consists of corrugated steel plate, welded T-beams, stud-type shear connectors and reinforced concrete filler. A total of eight composite bridge deck specimens were fabricated, the fatigue tests were conducted under four-point bending test with three different stress ranges in constant amplitude. According to the test results, the fatigue crack generated at the welding part of the corrugated steel plate, progressed down to the bottom of the steel plate and encountered the crack, which came out from the opposite side at the same position. After the two cracks were connected at the bottom of the steel plate, the lower flange was cut off and the fatigue crack developed up to the T-beam. And the displacements and strains of fatigue test specimens were increasing with cyclic loading number, these were changed sharply at the fatigue failure. The fatigue results are compared with the design S-N curves specified in the Korea Highway Bridge Design Specifications and data in NCHRP 102 and NCHRP 147 report. The new-type composite bridge deck has a stress category of C, which means that new-type composite bridge deck can be designed by the current fatigue design specifications provided for steel members.
