  • Sub-system requirements of a pressure-fed hot-firing test facility for performance assessment of a Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) thrust chamber using Liquid oxygen and kerosene were described. These requirements were based on the experience of construction and operation of the ground hot-firing test facility which was used for the development of the KSR-III and a 30 $ton_f$-class LRE thrust chamber. So it is expected that this paper is used as a basic material and an itemized previous review statement for the design and construction of a large hot-firing test facility.

Evaluation for mechanical properties of high strength concrete by stressed test and stressed residual strength test - part 2 strain properties - (설계하중 사전재하 및 잔존강도 시험방법에 따른 고강도콘크리트의 고온특성 평가 - 제2보 변형특성을 중심으로 -)

  • The present study is aimed to study the effect of elevated temperatures ranging from 20 to $700^{\circ}C$ on the strain properties of high-strength concrete of 40, 60, 80MPa grade. In this study, the types of test were the stressed test and stressed residual test that the specimens are subjected to a 25% of ultimate compressive strength at room temperature and sustained during heating and when target temperature is reached, the specimens are loaded to failure. Or specimens are loaded to failure after 24hour cooling time. tests were conducted at various temperatures ($20{\sim}700^{\circ}C$) for concretes made with W/B ratios 46%, 32% and 25%. Test results showed that the relative values of elastic modulus decreased with increasing compressive strength grade of specimen and the axial strain at peak stress were influenced by the load before heating. thermal strain of concrete at high temperature was affected by the preload as well as the compressive strength.

  • A small UAVs(Unmaned Aerial Vehicles) have limited by the payload capacity which requires miniaturization of a navigation system. In this paper, the performance of the lightweight and small sized AHRS(Attitude Heading Reference System), which is self-developed, is evaluated at low acceleration environment. The designed AHRS adopts the commercial low-cost MEMS sensors. A quaternion-based attitude calculation method, which eliminates singularity with relatively simple algebra, is used. In an attitude correction algorithm, the Kalman filter is used with accelerometers and magnetometers combined. The fabricated AHRS is also evaluated with reference to a COTS(Commercial Off-The-Shelf) AHRS which reports a number of successful applications to a small UAVs. The test results show that the measurements from the fabricated AHRS provide proper attitude output data with acceptable amount of differences(horizontal axis 0.5$^{\circ}$, vertical axis 1.5$^{\circ}$) in test environment.

  • Process of helicopter development is divided in design, manufacture and test & evaluation phase. Test & evaluation is performed step by step in order of component test, rig test, system ground test and flight test. After completing ground test and before first flight, US military specification requires 50hrs-PFAT in order to assure flight safety. PFAT is the test which requires tie-down and severe load imposition and it needs special ground test vehicle which is similar to helicopter prototype as well as much cost and period. In case of KUH, we have performed tailored PFAT considering KUH development environment. In this paper, we propose a proper way to perform the PFAT in accordance with development environment by giving KHU PFAT procedure and result.

  • This study proposes a development result for the 1-kW class small wind turbine system, which is applicable to relatively low wind speed regions like Korea and has the variable pitch control mechanism. In the aerodynamic design of the wind turbine blade, parametric studies were carried out to determine an optimum aerodynamic configuration which is not only more efficient at low wind speed but whose diameter is not much larger than similar class other blades. A light composite structure, which can endure effectively various loads, was newly designed. In order to evaluate the structural design of the composite blade, the structural analysis was peformed by the finite element method. Moreover both structural safety and stability were verified through the full- scale structural test.

  • A bulkhead-type pulse separation device has been developed for the multi-pulse rocket motor. The design parameters of the pulse separation device were the shape of the rupture disc slit, welding conditions, and the implementation of the seal disc. The pneumatic tests of the fabricated pulse separation devices showed that the rupture pressure increased as the quantity of the rupture disc slit and welding strength increased and the seal disc was implemented.

핵연료피복관용 Zr신합금 개발 연구

  • 핵연료 피복관용 Zr신합금을 개발하기 위해서 16종의 신합금을 설계하였다. 설계된 합금은 진공아크용해, $\beta$-열처리, 열간압연, 냉간압연 및 진공열처리의 공정에 의해 판재로 제조되었으며 이들 시편에 대해 35$0^{\circ}C$와 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 부식시험, 상온과 고온에서 인장시험 및 40$0^{\circ}C$에서 크립시험을 실시하여 신합금의 특성을 평가하였다. Zr-Nb-Sn계에 Fe, V, Te, Sb, Ru, Pd의 다른 원소를 미량 첨가하는 다원계 합금에서 Fe와 Cr은 부식특성을 향상시키는데 매우 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. Sb는 기계적강도를 향상시키고 Fe, Cr원소는 연신율을 증가시키는 원소로 밝혀졌으며 Sb와 V은 크립저항성을 매우 향상시킨다. 16종의 합금중 2-3종의 합금은 기존의 Zircaloy-4보다 우수한 내식성을 보였으며 Zr-Nb-Sn-FeCr합금은 ZIRLO와 유사한 부식저항성을 나타냈다. 부식과 크립저항성을 동시에 향상시키기 위해서는 Fe, Cr, Sb원소를 적절히 함유시킨 합금에 대해서 집중적인 연구가 수행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • The newly revised bioequivalence guideline of Korea allows the add-on test since July 1, 2008 when the initial bioequivalence trial fails to show the equivalence of two drugs. The statistical model of the add-on test and its two stage testing procedures are discussed. Some statistical points of consistency test in the add-on test are considered and the issue on the sample size of add-on test is discussed. Some reasonable alternative like Japan's guideline for bioequivalence studies is recommended to secure the proper use of an add-on study through some simulation studies.

  • 지오텍스타일 튜브의 봉합거동에 대한 이론연구와 실험을 수행하여 효율적인 봉합구조와 합리적인 설계 강도의 결정을 위한 방안을 고찰하였다. 수행 실험은 지오텍스타일 튜브 제품을 형성하기 위해 사용되는 봉합사에 대한 해수조건을 고려하여 내구성 평가와 봉합강도를 개선시키기 위해 다양한 봉합형태에 따른 봉합강도를 평가하여 고찰하였다. 지오텍스타일 튜브의 장기설계강도의 결정에서 지오텍스타일 자체의 강도 감소인자 뿐 아니라 봉합부에서의 여러 감소인자들을 고려하여야 하며 정확히 평가할 수 있는 시험규격의 정립이 요구된다. 봉합사의 강도가 유사한 경우 봉합형태가 봉합강도에 주요한 영향을 미치며, 봉합사의 봉합 후 긴장상태도 실험 중에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • It is necessary to assess the proper performance of the existing rockfall prevention net in order to minimize the damage to human lives and property in the event of rockfall. However, there is no standard for performance evaluation of rockfall prevention net in Korea, and only the design of rockfall prevention net exists by calculating energy that can be absorbed energy. Therefore, laboratory pullout test was conducted for the performance evaluation of the rockfall prevention net, cuts and load-displacement characteristics of the PVC coating net used in the laboratory pullout test are determined to identify the performance of the rockfall prevention net.
