Design of Auto Race-Track and Figure-8 Flight Mode for UAV (무인기의 자동 장주비행 및 8자 비행모드 설계)

  • This paper addresses the design of the auto race-track and figure-8 flight mode which can be applied to expand the loitering flight mode and increase the safety of UAV. To implement these flight modes, necessary waypoints and entry points can be calculated automatically from several information of the ground control system. The flight logic is proposed to pass the desired waypoints as well as entry points and transfer to the desired flight path by combining the light-of-sight and loitering guidance controller. The proposed algorithm and logic is verified using the 6-DOF UAV model and nonlinear simulation under the several flight conditions.

A Study on the Estimation of Center of Turning Circle of Anchoring Vessel using Automatic Identification System Data in VTS (VTS에서 AIS데이터를 활용한 정박선의 선회중심 추정에 관한 연구)

  • To ensure the safety for vessels anchored in stormy weather, duty officer and VTS operator have to frequently check whether their anchors are dragging. To judge dragging of the anchored vessel, it is important for VTS operator to recognize the turning circle and its center of the anchored vessel. The judgement for the anchored vessel dragging can be made by using Radar and AIS. If it is available, CCTV or eye-sighting can be used to know the center of turing circle. However, the VTS system collects individual ship's dynamic information from AIS and ARPA radar and monitors of the anchored vessels, it is difficult for VTS operator not only to get the detailed status information of the vessels, but also to know the center of turning circle. In this study, we propose an efficient algorithm to estimate the center of turning circle of anchored vessel by using the ship's heading and position data, which were from AIS. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, the experimental study was made for the anchored vessel under real environments.

Non-Reacting Flow Structure of a Low Swirl Combustor with respect to Inlet Velocities (저선회 연소기의 입구 속도에 따른 비반응 유동구조 분석)

  • In low swirl combustors the flame is lifted above the nozzle to achieve balance between the flame speed and velocity field at the exit of the nozzle. Characterization of the flame liftoff height is important because it affects the stability of the combustor and degradation of the nozzle material. In experiments, a counter-intuitive trend of flame liftoff heights with respect to inlet velocities was observed. To elucidate the complicated flow field in a low swirl combustor having swirl vanes and a turbulence generator, a series of numerical simulations of non-reacting flows was conducted by varying the inlet velocity. The flow structures at the exit of the nozzle with respect to the inlet velocities are investigated to support the observation in the experiments.

제주 강정항 선박조종시뮬레이션 결과 분석 및 평가

  • 제주 강정항 대상선박인 15만톤급 초대형 크루즈선(Queen Mary 2)의 안전 입출항 여부를 판별하기 위하여 항로 중심선 교각을 30도로 변경 풍속을 최대 27노트까지 적용하여 선박조종시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석 결과 남방파제 부두는 별다른 문제없이 초대형 크루즈선의 안전한 입출항이 가능하였다. 서방파제 부두는 풍속 20knots까지는 안전성이 확보 되었으나, 풍속 27노트 조건에서는 서측 돌제부두를 축소 조정하거나 가변식으로 변경할 경우 안전성이 더욱 향상되는 것으로 판별되었다. 또한 현행 1.5L 미만에서도 충분하게 180도 선회가 가능함이 검증되었고, 자력으로 안전하게 운항할 수 있는 풍속 범위는 20노트로 판별되었으나 비상사태에 신속하게 대응하고 안전성 향상 차원에서 상시 대마력 예선 2척을 운용할 필요가 있다.

크루즈선의 조종특성 및 제주 강정항 수역시설 적정성 분석 연구

  • 현재 건설 중인 제주 강정항에 15만톤급 크루즈 선박의 운항안전성 여부를 판별하기 위하여 3차례의 선박조종 시뮬레이션 평가를 실시하였다. 국내 초대형 크루즈 선박의 조종성능에 대한 연구가 미비했고, 크루즈 선박의 조종성능을 정확하게 선박조종 시뮬레이터에 반영할 수 없었던 시스템적인 한계로 인해 초대형 크루즈 선박의 운항 안전성 평가 결과는 사회적으로 많은 갈등과 마찰을 초래하였다. 본 연구에서는 세계적인 초대형 크루즈 선박의 조종특성을 바탕으로 제주 강정항 건설 과정에서는 논란이 되었던 수역시설의 적정성을 검토하고자 선회장, 항로 법선, 방파제 통과 선속 등에 대하여 국내외 각종 설계지침과 실측 자료, 항만 운영 사례 등을 심층 분석하였다. 초대형 크루즈 선박의 우수한 추진 및 조종성능을 감안하면 제주 강정항의 수역시설 규모는 적정하다고 판단되며, 초대형 크루즈 선박의 안전 입출항에도 별다른 문제는 없을 것으로 사료된다.

Maneuverabilities of Skipjack Pole and Liner (가다랑어 채낚기 어선의 조종 성능에 관한 연구)

  • The maneuverabilities of 240 GT class skipjack pole and liner were studied, based on the maneuvering indices and the data which were obtained from Z test of the experimental ship, the m.s. KWANACKSAN, the training ship of the National Fisheries University of Busan. The maneuvering indices K' of the experimental ship were 0.611(at 10$^{\circ}$Z test), 0.622(at 20$^{\circ}$Z test) and 0.556(at 30$^{\circ}$Z test). Her maneuvering indices T' were 1.094(at 10$^{\circ}$Z test), 1.695(at 20$^{\circ}$Z test) and 1.367(at 30$^{\circ}$Z test). The above calculated values K', T' showed that her turning ability at helm angle 20$^{\circ}$ and her obeying ability at helm angle 10$^{\circ}$ were most effective. As it appeared that the calculated K'-values of the experimental ship were smaller than the standard K'-values of different kinds of ships and her overshoot angles at her Z test were greater than those of them, her turning ability was found to be lower. When the experimental ship took a turn at her 10$^{\circ}$Z test, running distance was about 8.3 times her own length and didn't exceed the standard maneuvering distance, 5 to 11 times ship's own length, therefore she was considered to have good maneuverabilities synthetically.

  • In this paper, the captive model test of submerged body using RA test was carried out at the Square Basin. The target model is a submarine with four different types. For the comparison between theory and measurement, hydrodynamic coefficients are calculated according to the described method and compared with RA measurements on Submarine models. in addition, horizontal stability index of underwater vehicle was checked.

  • The maneuverabilities of the M.S. Pusan 404 are studied, based on maneuvering indices and the data obtained from her Z test. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. The maneuvering indices K' and T' of the M.S Pusan 404 are 0.9359, 0.1955 at 10° Z test and 0.9781, 0.5802 at 20° Z test and 0.9108, 0.7090 at 30° Z test respectively. The above calculated values K', T' showed that her maneuverabilities are more effective when the rudder is used to small angle than to large angle. 2.
