Mechanical Properties of Conductive Polymer as Actuator Materials with Change of Polymerization Condition (합성조건의 변화에 따른 액츄에이터 재료로서의 전도성 고분자의 기계적 특성)

  • Recently, conductive polymer is known to be direct-drive active material which can convert electrical energy directly into mechanical energy. In this paper, the polymerized thickness of polypyrrole is measured with change of polymerization conditions and the mechanical bending is analyzed for various polymerized thickness. In order to detect of mechanical bending, bending beam method using the bridge shaped sample is used. Thickness of polypyrrole is proportional to polymerization time in fixed current density. Also it shows a linear relation with the applied current except high current density. Maximum displacement appears at the thickness of $18.35{\mu}m$ which has been polymerized at $5.4{\mu}A/mm^2$ and for 120min and actuated at the frequency of 0.1Hz.

  • 본 연구에서는 코움 드라이브에 비해 구동력은 크고 평행 판 구동 방식에 비해서는 선형 특성이 우수하며 안정된 구동거리가 증가하는 특성을 갖는 새로운 정전력(electrostatic force) 구동 방식을 제안한다. 운동 전극과 고정 전극을 기울어지게 배치하여 전극 면에 평행한 정전력 $F_x$와 전극 면에 수직인 정전력 $F_y$의 합력 $F_e$ 방향으로 전극을 운동시킴으로써 정전력의 방향과 전극의 운동 방향을 일치시킨다. 제안된 구동방식의 정전력 모델을 이용한 해석 결과 코움 드라이브에 비해서는 구동력이 50 % 이상 크며 평행 판 구동에 비해서는 안정된 구동 거리가 10 - 30 % 이상 증가하는 구동 특성을 얻을 수 있었다. 제안된 구동방식을 이용하여 HDD의 트랙 방향 저장 밀도를 증가시키기 위한 듀얼스테이지 서보(dual-stage servo)에 사용 될 마이크로 액츄에이터 (microactuator)를 설계하고 SoG(Silicon on Glass) 공정을 이용하여 제작하였다.

  • A linear motor makes a long stroke by accumulating short steps, which is based on the quasistatic deformation of a magnetostrictive material in a magnetic field. It's also called as inchworm effect. The application areas of linear motors are an adaptive and active optics, X-Y positioning, precision alignment, etc. It is found that control of the frequency and current inputs are all that is necessary to control the speed handling ability of the linear motor. In inchworm mode, linear speeds of up to $500{\mu}m/s$ are achieved resulting from the accumulation of $25{\mu}m$ steps at 1.4A.

  • This paper deals with a moving coil type linear motor for fast access of the miniature ODD. This slim-line motor is composed of the mover supported by guide mechanism, the coil wound into it, and the yoke attached to the permanent magnet for stator. The driving force is generated by the PM of the stator and the current in the coils of the mover. Magnetic circuit analysis and Finite Element Method are applied to estimate the thrust force at air gap. In order to compare the force characteristics between two methods, various experiment results are applied to verify on a prototype. Also the flexible modes of the motor are predicted through the FEM and the structural components are modified to locate this on high frequency region.

  • This paper deals with a design of reliable state feedback controllers for continuous time polynomial systems with actuator failures. The goal is to find an asymptotically stabilizing controller such that the closed loop system achieves the prescribed decay rate in the actuator failure cases. Based on a sum of squares (SOS) approach, a design method for reliable nonlinear controller is presented. In order to demonstrate our design method, a numerical example is shown.

  • In this paper, we introduce the design method using CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) which is profitable in the compatability and standardization of the developed product, and the reduction of construction time and price to develop and design a machine equipment. Particularly, we select the standard model to design or develop from the large machinery to the super precision one, extract the peculiar characters of the model by the close analysis of the physical and technical part, the experiment for the characteristics of objective dimensions by analogical mathematical analysis for previous results, and can induce the design model demanded by user investigating optimal data in the design previous We present the analogical algorithms and process method of design factors and restriction factors in the systematization design with computer. Then we analyze step functions for each systematization equipment and induce the process of technical data with actuator model.

  • In recent years, as the demands of VBNS(Very high speed Backbone Network Service) and VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, WDM elements increase. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important to fabricate the optical elements for communication. In this paper, the mechanism of rotational stage, the contact sensing unit, and integrated control circuit for the optical alignment system are studied.

  • This paper is concerned with the designing and making power standing wheelchair. This wheelchair is studied based on the mechanical and electrical engineering concepts and theories. The mechanical theories are composed of statics and dynamics knowledges that are related with moving and standing position. Basically the static and dynamic stability is the most important element in designing and making the real size model. The linear actuator is used in the standing mechanism and the joystick controlled by hand is attached on the arm rest. The real size model is made and also investigated through the design specifications by test drive. Finally, this paper proves the possibility of commerical production of power standing wheelchair.
