Despite the benefits of social activity on happiness, humans still spend over one third of their time by themselves-sleeping. The effect of sleep quality on happiness as well as its underlying mechanism are examined in this study. Based on previous findings on the role of sleep in consolidation of memories, it was hypothesized that a good sleep would promote happiness by increasing the likelihood of recalling everyday episodes in a positively biased manner. In Study 1, regardless of one's demographic variables, social variables, and economic status, sleep quality was positively related to life satisfaction. To examine the causal direction of this effect, participants were asked to complete a survey twice with different time intervals. Controlling for baseline variables, sleep quality during previous two weeks (Study 2) or previous day (Study 3) significantly predicted the participants' life satisfaction. Moreover, this relationship was partially mediated by a positive memory bias (Study 3). This study opens interesting questions on a relatively unexamined nonsocial predictor of happiness, sleep quality.

However,Recently there have been on going un-solving arguments about effect of internet based communication.From the negative perspective, Internet based communication is negative to relationship, because internet based communication could displace face to fact communication and old off-line relationships. However, from the positive perspective, researchers focused on the motivation and purpose of internet users. In this paradigm, people could expand their life and relationships using internet because internet could remove the various restrictions for relationship. Moreover they also suggested that people could enlarge their relationships because they could easily disclose theirselves in anonymity. However, No conclusion has been drawn yet and there needs some organization of two standpoints. Accordingly, This study is integrating the two perspectives and proposing future direction of internet based communication and relationship.
Science and engineering college students, so-called engineering students, account for nearly half of Korean university students. Existing research on younger generations poses a question of young generation after the financial crisis as a 'genuine' survivalist who carries out 'passionate labor' to pursue 'ordinary life' and 'banal stability'. They are diagnosed as failing to "locate the course of their lives in relation to a larger being that transcends self". But is there a value that can replace the survival value in front of us today, which is possible to be practiced and narrated by the young generation of Korea, especially the engineering students? What value (if any) is not captured by survival value, and what mechanisms and processes can and can easily be used by engineering students? Our research uses interviews conducted at one research-centered science and engineering university in a local metropolitan city, Korea. In conclusion, we emphasize that a transformed version of developmental nationalism, in which individual scientists/engineers pursue their 'authentic' passion and unintentionally contribute to the development of the nation through byproducts of their research, exerts strong influence upon the formation of young engineering students' narratives linking their selfhood and the good.

The theory of landscape architecture applies environmental ethics in order to secure an ecological status. However, environmental ethics that focus on nature conservation excludes landscape architecture as artifacts. In the process, it is hard to identify what landscape architecture insists on as the middle position between humans and nature. Rather, landscape architecture pretends to be an 'agent of nature' and pushes the traditional moral values 'for people.' Therefore, the purpose of this study is to reestablish the anthropocentrism moral position of landscape architecture through critical analysis. Hargrove's weak anthropocentrism' of several environmental ethics branches accepts natural aesthetics(such as landscape architecture) as an ethical virtue. But environmental ethics makes landscape architecture a critical target. For that reason, this study looked into critical contents and objects that in a position to moral, aesthetic and landscape architecture. Critical details are as follows: First, nature is an absolute as an aesthetic and moral value, but landscape architecture is an imitation and takes a relaxed attitude about nature. Second, nature is full of aesthetic substance because it is self-creative, but landscape architecture is designed nature covered human flaws through imagination. Third, environmental management granting techniques in nature generate a moral nihilism. As an argument, environmental ethics overlooked the moral practices of landscape architecture beyond nature another moral aspect of creation and the imagination-and moral aspects of environmental management as 'care' because they rule out 'moral autonomy' and simplify what is considered 'good.' As a result, conservation cannot be the only virtue why the problem of nature in reality cannot be separated from human life. The moral position of landscape architecture based on a 'good life' is more appropriate under anthropocentrism than as a middle position.
The purpose of this study was to improve the quality characteristics of soy ice cream supplemented with oligosaccharide, and to test its blood glucose lowering effect. Boiled soybean powder was compared to parched soybean powder and to milk, as an ingredient. The soybean powder base was prepared by incubating with fructooligosaccharide (FOS) and apple juice, along with Lactobacillus acidophilus and L. bulgaricus at $30-40^{circ}C$ for 24 hr. With the fermentation process, the fishy smell of the soybean was removed and the taste improved. The overrun and melt-down values of the boiled soybean ice cream were significantly higher than those of the parched soybean ice cream, although they were significantly lower than those of the milk ice cream. The sensory characteristics of the soy ice cream prepared with the fermented base of boiled soybeans were significantly improved, as compared to those of the ice cream made using parched soybeans, but they were not significantly different from those of the milk ice cream. The blood glucose level at 120 min after ingestion of the ice cream prepared with FOS and the fermented base of boiled soybean powder was significantly lower than that occurring with the milk ice cream made with sugar.

In this paper, we suggest the elevator control system integrated wire and wireless based on Information technology. We suggest the service model of user friendly connected by internet. For this, we make the relation model of the elevator system and IT environments and then design the service model for wire service and wireless service using smart phone. It can make to supply efficient information with wire and wireless environments and also make improvement in accessability for the disabled peoples.
Lines are the oldest visual elements in human history and are closely related to human life and drawings and symbols drawn with lines on cave paintings and rocks have existed as alternative images for human survival. In arts the line reveals the core of the object within a short period of time and in art therapy it becomes a medium that can diagnose the client's psychological state and intervene therapeutically. However although line drawing has therapeutic importance in the process as well as diagnosis studies on its effectiveness and therapeutic characteristic have not been actively conducted. Therefore in this study the characteristics related to line art in art therapy are first derived through 'Triangular Verification of Theory', 'Qualitative Content Analysis', and 'Finding Common Parts' in domestic and foreign literature. As a result I will examine the Movement which is a key therapeutic element of line drawing in connection with the brain structure. Through this I will examine the therapeutic mechanisms that affect the body, brain and mind of the movement of line drawing and examine and suggest how it can be used in art therapy.
Do the particular good and the common good stand in relation of opposition or superiority each other? With regard to this question, some argue that the relevant Thomas texts reveal the superiority of the common good over the particular good, while others argue for the superiority of the particular good. The argument of this articles is, however, that closer examination of texts shows that Thomas Aquinas seeks to the unity of the common good and the particular good instead of seeing the conflict between them. It is true that Thomist moral and political theory emphasizes the value of the individual, but it should be noted that for Thomas the individual as individual does not exist, but shares specific formal determination with other members of the same species and, therefore, is the individualized, concrete universal. Good, meanwhile, means perfection which each being pursues and a thing is called good in the absolute sense when it actualizes its potentialities as a whole. An individual person is said to pursue only partial good, if it only seeks its perfection as an individual. The nature of individual person should be fully realized only in and through the community pursuing the common good. But the aim of living together which is rooted in the nature of human being as a rational being is for its members to live virtuously. The political community is said to try to bring its individual members to perfection, since the virtues are what renders human beings and their acts good. In this sense the particular good of the individual person is achieved through the pursuit of the common good and the common good is realized through the pursuit of the particular good so that they coincide each other. But this unity remains imperfect, when it would not be rightly ordered to its due end which is non other than the highest good, that is God. Accordingly the goodness of the human being in an absolute sense lies in the unity of the particular good and the common good rightly oriented towards the highest good, which is also called common good which every being pursues.
This paper deals with 'men facing limits of lives' from a perspective of struggle for social recognition. Men facing limits of lives in this paper indicates activists who have dedicated to labor movements since 1970s, and struggle for social recognition means to fight to acquire recognition in terms of love, rights and values, from members of societies. This paper analyzes the process of their failure and frustration in pursuing passion for recognition. They formed democratic labor unions, as an effort for recognition, and this led to foundation of progressive parties. Nonetheless, they are standing on a crossroad between lethargic and depression, while they are pursuing reformation and revolution. Why is their passion cooled down and depression aggravated? This paper argues various rifts both in internal and external realms of labor activists as critical factor of the failure, and suggests communication to heal the rifts as an alternative.
This article is to study the life and philosophy of Jonjae Gidaeseung, who was at strife with his days and did not negotiate with himself, with focus on two concepts of buron(不穩, unrest) and 'sympathy'. It is the fact that to study the traditional philosopher is likely to be enlightening. In order to prevent the risk, we need to define first the concept of unrest as including anxiety to critical resistance. Also, I would like to propose the concept of sympathy in order to grasp the function of his mind which judges whether his feelings and actions are valid from an emotional horizon of unrest. Methodologically this article is to adopt a transversal and correlative thinking by combining an east Asian Confucian traditional concept unrest with a modern one space. It is because this research is to show a significant meaning when we study highlighted and hidden layers of our life and politics in 'now-here' and the 'between space' even though this transversal and correlative study shows the horizon of his life. This article is to investigate how a case is structured by occurrences and divergences and reinterpret a meaning from an emotional horizon. This process is done centering on two terms Guchatuan(pursuing ease ignobly), and Suwolbingho(moon reflected in the water and ice in a bottle), which is the source of Bingwoldang. The two terms were used by Jonjae himself. The latter shows an opposite meaning from the first and is accordingly a way by which we can look into his life and days. My research of Jonjae's life and politics from the emotional-philosophical level is original in that it reveals emotional traces beyond his philosophical ideas which previous studies did not show. In this article, I showed that Gobong was ambitious and resolute, and definite in his judgment and therefore was not good at controlling his uprightness. Also he was too straightforward to purify a language. His unrest characters made him conflict with old ministers and high ranking officials and therefore they avoided him even thought he was excellent in writing and learning and talented. He was oriented toward living by goodness and right Ways, which is summed up as Gisesa(vague movement, situational advantage, and death).
