Zr 신합금에서 열처리변수가 부식과 미세조직에 미치는 영향

  • 핵연료피복관의 부식성능은 합금원소의 조성에 매우 민감하지만 열처리변수에 따라서도 크게 좌우되므로 열처리변수가 Zr 신합금의 부식저항성과 미세조직에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Zr-Nb-Sn-Fe-Cr 조성을 갖는 합금을 제조하여 열처리면수($\Sigma$A)를 7.7x$10^{-l9}$~5.3x$10^{-17}$ hr로 제어한 후 400 $^{\circ}C$/10.3 MPa 분위기의 autoclave를 이용하여 부식시험을 실시 하였다. 열처리변수($\Sigma$A)가 증가함에 따라서 부식저항성은 감소하였으며 열처리변수의 값이 7.7x$10^{-l9}$와 8.8x$10^{-l9}$ hr일 때 부식저항성은 매우 우수하였다. 천이후 부식속도에 미치는 열처리변수의 영향은 무게증가량에 미치는 영향과 동일한 경향을 나타냈으며 $\Sigma$A가 1.0x$10^{-18}$ hr이하에서 매우 낮은 부식속도를 보였다. 석출물 크기의 증가는 부식저항성을 감소시키는 것으로 관찰되었다. 따라서 우수한 부식저항성을 갖는 Zr 신합금을 개발하기 위해서는 중간 열처리 온도를 적절히 조절하여 석출물의 크기를 0.05 $\mu$m이하로 제어하여야 한다.다.

  • Bi-2223 초전도체계에서 석출물을 flux-pinning center로 이용할 수 있는지 가능성을 타진하기 위하여 $Bi_{1.8}$P $b_{0.4}$S $r_{2}$C $a_{2.2}$C $u_3$ $O_{8}$ 조성을 가진 Bi-2223/Ag 선재를 반응온도, 산소분압, 시간 등을 변화시키면서 열처리를 행하였다. 열처리 후 석출물들은 XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS로 분석하였다. Bi-2223 모상내의 (Ca, Sr)$_2$(Pb,Bi) $O_4$, B $i_{0.5}$ P $b_3$S $r_2$C $a_2$Cu $O_{12+}$$\delta$/ (3221)와 같은 2차상들의 크기와 분포는 2223 입자들의 연결성을 파괴하지 않고 열처리 조건에 의해서 조절할 수 있었다. 서냉 열처리가 된 시편은 임계전류밀도( $J_{c}$)값이 증가하였는데, 이는 2223 입자내 나노미터 크기로 형성된 석출물들이 flux-pinning sites로 작용한 것으로 추정된다.다.

  • Critical current(Ic) degradation of HTS tapes after bending is one of the hottest issues in HTS development and application studies. Many people are measuring Ic degradations for effect of bending radius. However even if the bending radius is larger than the breaking radius a HTS tapes can be damaged by repetitive bending, which is unavoidable in the winding processes. Therefore, We studied the Ic degradation after repetitive bending. at 77K with self-field, of Bi-2223 tapes processed by "Powder-in-Tube" technique, which was made by America Superconductor Corporation(AMSC) and superconductiing tapes that strain is imposed measured critical current by temperature difference of L$N_2$ and normal temperature. Like this, critical current could measure that degradation about 1~3% by temperature difference. These results will amount the most important basis data in power electric machine of superconductivity cable, magnet, etc that winding work is require.

  • Large industrial motors require a large area because of the high risk of shutdown accidents and large industrial accidents due to the lowering of the dielectric strength of the armature windings and overheating problems. Therefore, there is a demand for a large-capacity motor that has small size, light weight, and excellent dielectric strength compared with conventional motors. Superconducting motors have advantages of high efficiency and output power, low size, low weight, and improved stability. This results from greatly increasing the magnetic field generation by using superconductive field coils in rotating machines such as generators and motors. It is very important to design and analyze the cooling system to lower the critical temperature of the wires to achieve superconducting performance. In this study, a field loss analysis and low-temperature heat transfer analysis of the cooling system were performed through the conceptual design of a 100-HP high-temperature superconducting synchronous motor. The field loss analysis shows that a uniform pore magnetic flux density appears when high-temperature superconducting wire is used. The low-temperature heat transfer analysis for gaseous neon and liquid neon showed that a flow rate of 1 kg/min of liquid neon is suitable for maintaining low-temperature stability of the high-temperature superconducting wire.

A STUDY CONCERNING THE CHARACTERISTICS OF KOREAN NI-TI ALLOY ORTHODONTIC WIRE (국산 Ni-Ti합금 교정용 선재의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • To estimate the characteristics of Korean Ni-Ti alloy orthodontic wire, this study investigated compositions, tensile properties, bending properties, heat treatment effects, and ion releasing degrees, and compared these characteristics to those of the imported Ni-Ti alloy wire. The results obtained are as follows ; 1. Ti and -Ni elements in ORTHOLLOY were in a range showing superelasticity, and there was a little difference in the Ni and Ti contents of ORTHOLLOY as compared with those of SENTALLOY. 2. The results of the tensile test concerning ORTHOLLOY exhibited a superelastic effect, indicating an area of a definite amount of stress in spite of the changes in the range from $2\%\;to\;8\%$ in the strain rate. 3. ORTHOLLOY presented higher load values than SENTALLOY in the same deflection values when the wire was tested in three-point bending. A load range displaying a superelastic effect was 80-l00g, 140-l80g, and 130-200g respectively, in wire diameters of 0.014', 0.016', and 0.018' 4. By heat treatments at $400^{\circ}C$ and at $500^{\circ}C$, a load range showing the effect of superelasticitly was lessened by the duration of the heat treatment time. The superelastic effect was destroyed as a result of the 10 minutes heat treatment at $600^{\circ}C$. 5. The quantity of the Ni ion released from ORTHOLLOY, tended to be greater than the amount of released Ni ion in SENTALLOY. The Co ion released was very little(<0.01ppm) in SENTALLOY and ORTHOLLOY irrespective of the lapse of time. Released Ni ions on the 1st day were at the maximum, and the releasing rate showed plateaus after three days. 6. The surface morphology of SENTALLOY was relatively regular irrespective of the lapse of rime, and the corrosion tendency was not observed. However, the surface morphology of ORTHOLLOY was rather irregular and shelved fitting corrosion after immersion.

Effect of Freezing, Thawing and Blanching on the Pigment of Purple Sweet Potato (동결, 해동 및 Blanching이 자색고구마 색소에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of freezing, thawing and blanching on the change of extractable pigment content of purple sweet potato (PSP) was investigated. Freezing at $-5^{\circ}C$ was more effective than freezing at $-20^{\circ}C\;or\;-40^{\circ}C$, and rapid thawing methods such as microwave heating or hat air blast heating were effective than slow thawing methods such as thawing at $4^{\circ}C\;or\;20^{\circ}C$. Inactivation of enzymes, which cause pigment destruction during thawing, by blanching before freezing was necessary to obtain the highest possible amount of extractable pigment from PSP. Microwave blanching for $3{\sim}4$ min or hot air blanching for $10{\sim}15$ min were effective in extracting pigment from PSP.

Effect of Distribution and Shape of Cr-Carbide Precipitates on the Caustic stress Corrosion cracking for Ni-Based Alloy 600 (크롬계 탄화물의 분포와 형태가 니켈계 합금 600의 염기응력부식에 미치는 영향)

  • 32$0^{\circ}C$, 40%NaOH 용액의 autoclave에서 약 300wppm의 탄소를 함유하고 있는 15Cr-9Fe-balanced Ni 합금 판상시편에 대해 응력부식 저항성을 조사하였다. 부식시편은 $700^{\circ}C$, 100시간 동안의 열처리로 합금내부에 석출될 수 있는 가능한 한 많은 양의 크롬계 탄화물을 석출시킨 후, 다시 재용해에 의해 크롬계 탄화물의 형태를 조절하는 $800^{\circ}C$-$950^{\circ}C$범위의 최종열처리를 시행하고 급냉시킨 다음 U-자형으로 응력을 가하여 준비되었다. 최종열처리 온도가 올라감에 따라 시편들의 입계응력부식균열(IGSCC ) 전파속도는 $900^{\circ}C$까지는 거의 직선적으로 증가하다가 $950^{\circ}C$에서는 $700^{\circ}C$에서 얻은 값보다도 더 낮게 감소하였다. 즉, 크롬계 탄화물이 재용해되어 그 밀도가 감소함에 따라 IGSCC저항성이 감소하다가 완전히 재용해된 $950^{\circ}C$ 열처리 조건에서 오히겨 가장 큰 IGSCC 저항성을 나타내었다. 이와같은 최조열처리 온도에 따른 니켈계 합금 600의 부식거동은 입계에 존재하는 크롬계탄화물의 형태변화 때문이 아니라 입계에서 탄소-크롬계 탄화물-크롬간의 상평형에 의해 이루어지는 탄소의 입계편석량이 크롬계탄화물이 존재할 때에는 열처리 온도에 따라 증가하다가 그것이 완전히 재용해 되었을 때 가장 낮아지기 때문인 것으로 생각된다.

  • YBCO 초전도 박막을 제조하기 위해 일반적으로 사용되는 RABiTS공정을 통해 제조된 양축 정렬된 Ni 선재 위에 직접 YBCO를 증착시키려는 시도가 많이 이루어졌다. Ni 위에 직접 증착시킨 YBCO 박막은 c-축으로 정렬되는 온도에서 Ni이 확산되어 YBCO와 반응하여 초전도 물성을 약화시킨다. 이것을 방지하기 위하여 완층층을 먼저 증착을 하는 연구를 시행하였다. 본 연구는 Ni-5at.%W(100) 기판위에 hot-wall type MOCVD (metal organic chemical vapor deposition)를 이용하여 증착을 실시하였다. 완층층으로는 Ni, YBCO와 각각 4.70%, 3.32%의 lattice mismatch를 갖는 $Yb_2O_3$를 선택하였으며, 증착 조건으로는 온도 $800\;{\sim}\;1000^{\circ}C$, 시간 3 ~ 10min, 증착압력 10 Torr의 조건에서 증착을 행하였다. $Yb_2O_3$를 형성하기 위해 산소를 이용하였으나 $Yb_2O_3$(200) 형성을 방해하는 NiO(111)이 형성되었다. 산소를 대신해 수증기를 이용하여 NiO 상이 없는 $Yb_2O_3$(200)을 형성하였다. 증착 시간과 수증기 압력에 따른 $Yb_2O_3$$I_{(200)}/(I_{(111)}+I_{(200)})$의 상대 회절강도비를 XRD (X-ray diffraction)를 이용하였고, 증착된 표면 형상은 SEM(scanning electron microscopy)을 통해 관찰하였다.

Dry Magnetic Particle Inspection of Ingot Cast Billets (강편 빌레트의 건식 자분 탐상)

  • Dry magnetic particle inspection(MPI) was performed to detect the surface defects of steel ingot cast billets. Magnetic properties of several materials were characterized by the measurement of the B-H hysteresis curve. The inspection results were evaluated in terms of the magnetizing current, temperature, and the amount of magnetic particles applied to billets. Magnetic flux leakage near the defect site of interest was measured and compared with the results of calculation by the finite element method in the case of direct magnetizing current. Direct and alternating magnetizing currents for materials were deduced by the comparison of the inspections. Results of the magnetic particle inspection by direct magnetizing current were compared with those of finite element method calculations, which were verified by measuring magnetic leakage flux above the surface and the surface defects of the material. For square rods, due to the geometrical effect, the magnetic flux density at the edges along the length of the rods was about 30% of that at the center of rod face for a sufficiently large direct magnetizing current, while it was about 70% for an alternating magnetizing current. Thus, an alternating magnetizing current generates rather uniform magnetic flux density over the rods, except for the region on the face across about 10 mm from the edge. The attraction of the magnetic particle by the magnetic leakage field was nearly independent of the surface temperature of the billets up to $150^{\circ}C$. However, the temperature should have been limited below $60^{\circ}C$ for an effective fixing of gathered magnetic particles to the billet surface using methylene chloride. We also found that the amount of applied magnetic particles tremendously affected the detection capability.

The Superconducting Properties of a High-Temperature Superconducting GdBCO-Coated Conductor (고온초전도 GdBCO 박막선재의 초전도 특성)

  • The basic magnetic properties of commercially available High-$T_c$ Superconductor (HTS) GdBCO-coated conductor (GdBCO-CCs) were investigated by using physical property measurement system-vibrating sample magnetometer (PPMS-VSM). From the zero-field-cooled (ZFC) m(T) curve, the $T_c$ was found to be ~93 K. After removing the background m(H) data, we obtained both the net m(H) data and the ${\Delta}m_{irr}$. The $H_{irr}(T)$ coincided very well with the power-law relation $H_{irr}=H_{irr}(0)(1-T/T_c)^n$ with $$n{\sim_=}1.19$$. The magnetic flux behavior was investigated by using the ${\delta}$ values in the relationship $J_c{\propto}{\Delta}m_{irr}{\propto}H^{-{\delta}}$. A ${\delta}{\approx}0$ region denoting an independent magnetic flux pinning effect, a ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ region representing a collective flux pinning effect due to the interaction, and a ${\delta}{\gg}2$ region representing freely moving magnetic fluxes caused by the Lorentz force were observed. The boundary line between ${\delta}{\approx}0$ and ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ is denoted by a $H_1$, and the one between ${\delta}{\approx}0.6{\sim}1.2$ and ${\delta}{\gg}2$ is denoted by a $H_2$. The ${\delta}(T)$ was obtained in the region of $H_1$ < H < $H_2$. As the temperature was decreased, the ${\delta}$ value gradually decreased.
