A Learning Control Alorithm for Noncircular Cutting with Lathe (선삭에서 비원형 단면 가공을 가공을 위한 제어연구)

  • A study for a lathe to machine workpieces with noncircular corss-sections is presented. The noncircular cutting is accomplished by controlling the radial tool position synchronized with the revolution angle of spindle. A learning control algorithm is suggested for the toll positioning, of which the control performances are analyzed and simulated on a numerical computer that the effectiveness of the control is convinced. The learning control is tested on a NC-lathe which shows successful results.

  • In order to make unmanned machining systems with satisfactory performances, it is necessary to incorporate appropriate condition monitoring systems in the machining workstation to provide the required intelligence of the expert. This paper deals with condition monitoring for tool wear and fracture during turning operation. Developing economic sensing and identification methods for turning processes, sound pressure measurement and digital signal processing technique are proposed. The validity of the proposed system is confirmed through the large number of cutting tests.

  • A laser-based in-process measurement system for the evaluation of surface roughness In turning Is reported. The proposed measuring system makes it possible to detect the surface roughness not only circumferential path but also along the feed direction even during machining.   • The purpose of this research was to study the influence of machining characteristics for aluminum alloys. The effect of metallic microstructural variables on the measures of machinability of aluminum alloys has no been adequately investigated. Machining Characteristics are influenced significantly by mechanical characteristics, composition and structure of material etcs. For improvement of machining characteristics, various studies are reported. In this paper, composition elements add to aluminum alloys within the limit of sustaining mechanical characteristics of metallic material. We have analyzed dynamic characteristics of cutting resistance, tensile strength value, hardness value etcs.

Compared with MCD, the surface roughness of workpiece cut by PCD was inferior at a small feed. But, there were no significant difference between MCD and PCD tool above a certain feed in surface roughness

  • In a transfer line with mass production capability, calibration systems are included in the process as a separate dedicated station. However, this method is not appropriate in an unattended FMC with flexibility. As the FMC produces vesatile parts with small batch sizes, more flexible calibration systems are required. In this paper, a calibration/inspection system suitable for an unattended turning cell is introduced. The system has functions of dimension calibration of parts by touch probes, tool wear compensation, and quality monitoring of parts. Furthermore, characteristics of errors in the system are identified and corresponding compensation methodology is suggested. An operation software was developed for efficient use of the system.

  • 본 연구에서는 해석 기하학적인 접근 방법으로서 전단응력으로 표현되는 3차원 절삭이론을 유도하고 이것을 정면밀링의 해석에 적용하여 기본적인 파라메트 들은 실험이 비교적 용이한 선삭에서 결정하고 그들을 이용하여 밀링절삭력을 유효 하게 예측할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제시하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the specific cutting energy characteristics during turning SM45C steel. Using the orthogonal array method the specific cutting energy has been predicted. And the significance of the equation is checked by ANOVA test. Predicted values of specific cutting energy are well concide with the measured ones. When the feed rate becaomes larger than 0.5mm/rev, predicted specific cutting energy increases.

  • 화인세라믹의 우수한 공학적 특성으로 인한 최근의 이용가치 증대와 더불어 세라믹의 고정도 가공에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 다이아몬드휠을 이용한 연삭이나 다이아몬드 공구를 이용한 선삭에 의해 세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 실현시키고자 하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고는 있으나 아직 미흡한 상태에 있다. 따라서 전통적으로 고정도 표면생성에 널리 용되어 온 래핑에 의한 표면다듬질이 현재 행하여지고 있는 일반적인 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 화인세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 위한 원통래핑 공정의 최적화 방법으로 실험계획법의 한 응용분야인 반응표면분석법을 이용하였으며 그 결과, 적은 재료와 시간으로 능률적이고 체계적인 실험 및 통계적인 분석을 통해서 원통세라믹의 고정도 표면생성을 위한 최적래핑조건을 찾아내었다.
