  • 산업의 발전과 함께 해양환경 중에서 사용되는 항만시설과 해양구조물 등을 비롯하여 철강재로 제작되는 각종 구조물, 공업용수배관, 열교환기, 선박 등의 기계장치나 각종설비는 그 사용 환경이 다양해지고 오염되면서 부식손상이 발생되어 지고있다. 더욱이 강전해질의 해양환경 중에서 기계적인 충격 침식과 더불어 전기화학적인 부식이 중첩하여 발생하는 경우에는 침식과 부식 이 상호간에 가속하는 상승효과 때문에 각종 기계장치 및 설비의 수명에 대한 안정성 확보가 어렵다. (중략)

Design and Implementation of Transformerless 40W LED Light Driver Circuit for Ships (선박용 변압기 없는 40W LED 조명 구동회로의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, driver circuit of LED lights for ships is designed and implemented to replace conventional lights with filament which have short life time due to vibration of ships. The driver of LED module is switching circuit without transformer to reduce volume and cost. As switch circuit controls input 220 VAC with PWM, LED module is reliably driven. Power factor is improved by using valley-fill PFC compensation circuit which is handled to pulse current of switching circuit. Serial-parallel LED circuit is applied to reduce change period of lights of long-term navigation ships. Array of serial-parallel can operate even if some of LEDs is damaged. It is suitable for ships that power consumption and power factor of lights including developed drive circuit have 39Watt and 0.925 respectively.

  • Mobile Harbor(MH) is a new paradigm for maritime transport system introduced in Korea, the target of which is to carry out ship-to-ship cargo operation rapidly and effectively even under a condition of sea state 3. A MH ship is moored alongside a large container vessel anchored at the defined anchorage and also equipped with gantry cranes for handling containers. The MH study concerned includes rapid container handling system, optimum design for floating structure, hybrid berthing & cargo operation system, design for cargo handling crane, etc. This paper is to deal with a conceptual design of a stabilized mooring system and mooring equipment under a condition of ship-to-ship mooring. In this connection, we suggest a positioning control winch system in order to control heave motions of the MH ship which is to add constant brakepower and stabilized function to an auto-tension winch and mooring equipment used currently in large container ships.

  • This paper presents a collision avoidance system for intelligent ship. Unlike collision avoidance system of other unmanned vehicles, the collision avoidance system for intelligent ship aims at not only deriving a reasonable and safe path to the goal but also keeping COLRECs(International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea). The heuristic search based on the BK-products is adopted to achieve the general purpose of collision avoidance system; deriving a reasonable and safe path. The rule of action to avoid collision is adopted for the other necessary and sufficient condition; keeping the COLREGs. The verification of proposed collision avoidance system is performed with scenarios that represent encounter situations classified in the COLREGs, then it is compared with $A^{\ast}$ search method in view of optimality and safety. The analysis of simulation result revels that the proposed collision avoidance system is practical and effective candidate for real-time collision avoidance system of intelligent ship.

A Study on the Maritime Police Authority of Korea Coast Guard on the High Seas of International Law (국제법상 공해에서의 우리나라 해양경찰권에 관한 연구)

  • The areas be affected maritime police authority of the Republic of Korea, are largely classified as inland waters, territorial waters, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf(hereinafter referred to as "domestic sea area") and high seas. Of these, the maritime police authority in domestic sea area follows a municipal law that accommodates the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea(UNCLOS). In addition, this Convention shall apply on the high seas. Meanwhile, on the high seas, foreign vessels other than domestic vessels are allowed to be subject to limited jurisdiction only for the anti-mankind criminal acts, such as piracy etc. this is in accordance with the principle of "Freedom of the high seas" and "maritime flag state," under this Convention. However, the illegal acts of foreign vessels that threaten the security of coastal states and the safety of ships on the high seas can cause many types of crimes other than anti-mankind criminal acts, and the jurisdiction of the coastal states exercised may lead to conflicts between countries. Therefore, this article would like to suggest a plan for institutional improvement to maintain international maritime order on the high seas and secure maritime police authority in coastal states.

Study on the Performance Improvement of Marine Engine Generator Exciter Control using Neural Network Controller (신경망 회로 제어기를 이용한 선박 엔진 발전기의 여자기 제어 성능 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The exciter of a ship generator adjusts the magnetic flux through excitation current control to maintain the output terminal voltage constant. The voltage controller inside the exciter typically uses a proportional integral control method. however, the response characteristics determined by the gain and time constant produce unwanted output owing to an inappropriate setting value that can reduce the quality and stability of power within the ship. In this study, a neural network circuit is learned using stable input/output data that can be obtained through the AC4A type exciter model provided by IEEE, and the simulation is performed by replacing the existing proportional integral control type voltage controller with the learned neural network circuit controller. Consequently, overshooting was improved by up to 9.63% compared with that of the previous model, and excellence in stable response characteristics was confirmed.

Development of Voice Information System for Safe Navigation in Marine Simulator (시뮬레이터 기반 음성을 이용한 항행정보 안내시스템의 개발)

  • As the technology of Speech Recognition(SR) and Text-To-Speech(TTS) develops rapidly, voice control and guidance system is thought to be very helpful for safe navigation. But Voice Control and Guidance System(VCGS) is not yet so popularly included in Navigation Supporting System(NSS). The main reason of this is that VCGS is so complicated and user-unfriendly that navigation officers hesitate to use VCGS. Frequent errors in operating VCGS due to low rate of SR are another reason. To make VCGS more practicable for safe navigation, we design the user-friendly VCGS. Firstly, by using interviews we survey functions and procedures that navigation officers want to be included in VCGS. Secondly, to raise the rate of SR, we tun the environmental noise in bridge and to reduce the errors due to low rate of SR in operating VCGS, we design the functions of self-correction. Also we apply a user-independent SR engine so that procedures of teaming of speakers is basically not necessary. Using simulator experiments the functions and procedures of the user-friendly YCGS for safe navigation are evaluated and the results of evaluation are fed back to the design. As a result, we can design the VCGS more helpful for safe navigation. In this paper, we describe the features of the user-friendly VCGS for safe navigation and discuss the results of simulator experiments.

Advanced Wastewater Treatment using Sequencing Batch Reactor on ship's sewage (연속 회분식 공정(SBR)을 이용한 선박 오·폐수의 고도처리)

  • Lab scale experimental study was carried out for SBR process, to investigate the effects of influent ship sewage organic compound removal and Bacillus sp. state on design parameters. This process was able to remove nitrogen and phosphorus as well as organic matter efficiently. More than $92.0\%$ of chemical oxygen demand(COD) were removed. In addition, about $84.0\%$ of total nitrogen (T-N) was reduced. The total phosphorus(T-P) reduction averaged $93\%$. The performance load of SBR process was shown to be $0.095kg{\cdot}TOC/m3{\cdot}day$. The pH was decreased from 8.1 to 7.0 within 30 min and increased to 7.3 at the end of anoxic stage, and these phenomena were explained. The sludge produced in the SBR process is characterized by low generation rate (about $0.36kg{\cdot}MLSS/kg{\cdot}TOC$) and excellent settleability. The number of Bacillus sp. in the SBR was $24.2\%$, indicating that Bacillus sp. was a predominant species in the reactor.

Control of arc pulse to overcome misalignment and gap variation in root pass welding of pipe butt joint by GMAW (GMAW 초층 이면비드 용접에서 단차와 갭변동 극복을 위한 아크 충격량 제어)

  • 선박이나 산업 플랜트에서 파이프 또는 탱크류의 맞대기 용접 시 안정적인 이면비드의 형성은 매우 중요하다. 대부분의 현장에서 파이프 맞대기 초층용접부의 안정적인 이면비드를 형성하기 위해 3mm의 루트갭을 띄우고 루트면이 없는 V-그루브에서 필러를 사용하는 수동 TIG용접을 주로 사용하고 있다. 수동 TIG용접은 고품질의 비드와 우수한 아크안정성, 그리고 용접인자의 제어가 쉽다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 수동 TIG용접은 용접속도가 10cpm정도로 느리기 때문에 GMAW에 비해 생산성이 낮고 작업자의 숙련도에 따라 품질이 변하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 높은 생산성과 기준갭 1.5mm에서 단차의 허용공차를 크게 하기 위해 루트면 3mm를 가지는 U-그루브의 설계를 하였으며, 두꺼운 루트면을 가지는 그루브에서 안정적인 이면비드를 형성시키기 위해 GMAW에서 아크 충격량에 대한 검토를 실시하였다. GMAW의 아크력이 용입에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검토하기 위해 수냉되는 동판에 갭을 1.5mm 띄우고 동일한 용착량과 입열량에서 아크력만을 변화시켜 실험하였다. 또한, U-그루브의 루트부를 모델링하여 두께3t의 평판시편을 각각의 갭과 단차 조건에서 실험하였다. 이 때, 기준갭 1.5mm에서 갭에 의해 생기는 단면적을 기준 갭단면적, 갭이 증가함에 따라 증가되는 단면적을 추가 갭단면적, 갭이 감소함에 따라 감소하는 단면적을 감소 갭단면적으로 정의하였다. 용접 중 발생하는 추가, 감소 갭단면적에 대하여 용착량을 50%의 수준으로 증가, 감소 시켰다. 갭에 따라 아크력을 변경하여 실험을 실시하였고 이면비드의 형상을 확인 하였다. 마지막으로 평판 시편의 조건에서 안정적으로 이면비드가 형성된 조건을 pipe U-그루브에 적용하였다. 그 결과 동판에서 용착량과 입열량이 같음에도 불구하고 아크력이 증가함에 따라 용입이 깊어짐을 확인하였다. 또한. 3t 평판시편에서 아크력의 제어를 통해 큰 단차와 갭이 있을 때, 안정적인 이면비드를 얻을 수 있는 조건을 확립하였다. 마지막으로 pipe U-그루브에서 앞선 실험의 용접조건으로 갭과 단차의 변화에 대해 실험을 하였으나, 시험편의 두께차이에 의한 전도 열손실로 인해 이면비드의 형성이 어려웠고, 아크 충격량의 증가를 통해 이러한 문제를 해결하였다.

초고속 해상무선통신망 무선설비 상호운용성 시험 방안

  • 초고속 해상무선통신망(LTE-Maritime)은 바다 어민의 안전과 항해 중인 선박의 편의 서비스 제공을 위해 대한민국 연안으로부터 최대 100km 까지 해역을 LTE(Long Term Evolution) 통신 체계로 구축한 세계 최초의 해상 무선통신망이다. 본 논문은 초고속 해상무선통신망의 활용성을 높이기 위해 다용한 용도로 개발된 무선설비의 호환성, 신뢰성, 안정성을 확보하기 위한 상호운용성 시험 방안을 논의해보고자 한다. 본 논문은 이종 통신장비 및 이종 무선설비 간의 상호운용성을 단말(무선설비)과 시스템의 종단간 통신품질 측정을 통해 서비스 커버리지 성능, 무선데이터 전송 속도 및 전송성공률 등을 검토해 보고, 각 품질 지표를 검증할 수 있는 시험 구성 방안, 시험 항목 및 절차, 측정 결과 분석 방법 등을 다각도로 살펴보고자 한다.
