Estimation of Line Utilization Rate and Track Maintenance Time of Conventional Railway (일반철도의 선로이용율과 선로 유지보수시간 추정)

  • In this study, we numerically estimated available and unavailable time of conventional railway by examining 60% which is known as average range of track utilization efficiency. We also estimated track repair time for maintenance which is the main factor of making track utilization change and analyzed appropriate estimated time. The railway's safety should be guaranteed by appropriate railway operating plan and by adequate rail facilities maintenance. At the same time, daily railway train 'Dia's recovery power should be reflected to the management plan. Considering these factors, we examined mechanical equipment and the national rail network in order to rationally estimate track repair time of the maintenance and to secure spare time in case of train delays. It was found that track utilization efficiency was more or less 60%.

  • This paper suggested the fast and easy method of the dielectric constant measurement for planar dielectrics using a microstrip line. The complex permittivity and permeability were presented by the first reflection and transmission coefficient which were derived from the scattering parameters. This method was verified by the measurement of a known planar dielectric using a microstrip line. This method can be applied to the dielectric constant measurement of unknown planar dielectric.

  • 이 논문에서는 네트워크 성능을 파악할 수 있는 관리 정보 중의 하나인 선로 이용율과 응답시간의 관계 분석을 위해 실험 네트워크를 구축하고, 패킷 생성기와 SNMP 데이터 수집기를 구현하였다. 그리고 분석 결과가 사용자에게 일정 응답시간 이내의 서비스를 제공하는 동시에 네트워크 자원을 경제적으로 유지하기 위한 지침으로 활용될 수 있도록 선로 이용율과 응답시간의 관계를 분석한다.

Analysis and Design of Branch Line Coupler using Microstrip Lines with Overlay (덮개층이 있는 마이크로스트립 선로를 이용한 브랜치 선로 결합기 해석 및 설계)

  • A method of miniaturizing branch line coupler is presented. The method utilizes the microstrip line with overlay(or superstrate). The frequency dependent characteristics, dispersion and characteristic impedance, of this line are obtained by Immitance method in spectral domain and Method of Line. The relevant spectral domain Green's function is given and used to obtain numerical results. The branch line couplers with overlays are designed and fabricated at 2 GHz. The experimental results show that the size of coupler with overlay(${epsilon}_r$=10.2) is 31.4 precent smaller than conventional coupler. This minimized coupler is suitable for Butler Matrix as feeder for mobile communication beam forming antenna.

Increasing needs for utility management lead up to develop a Telephone Outside plant Management System(TOMS) which combines facility management with Geog¬raphic Information System (GIS). TOMS is a powerful, flexible and effective outside plant facility management system. TOMS provides value added applic¬at ion softwares and easy-to-use user interfaces which make TOMS eas i ly adapted and extended to the individual sites. TOMS is now in use in 30 percent of central offices and will be used nation-wide by 1996.

  • In this research magnetic field reduction effect of each passive loop was analyzed by using the scale down models of transmission lines. This paper examined magnetic field reduction effect of the passive loop that will be applied to actual facility through the experiment, which is about double vertical transmission line and horizontal transmission line. Consequently, by confirming the fact that magnetic field reduction effect can be obtained to 50 % by passive loop without reactive compensation, we insured technology about application of passive loop. And the case of 3 turns of loop showed two times reduction effect than that of 1 turns of loop in reducing magnetic field. Vertical passive loop is more efficient than horizontal passive loop in the aspect of reducing magnetic field on double vertical transmission lines. What is more, vertical passive loop showed good effect of reducing magnetic field in a far distance as well as in a short distance.

An Error Control Line Code Based on an Extended Hamming Code (확대 Hamming 부호를 이용한 오류제어선로부호)

  • A new error control line code based on an extended Hamming code is proposed and its performance is analyzed in this paper. The proposed code is capable of single error correction and double error detection since its minimum Hamming distance is 4. In addition, the error detection capability can be oncreased due to the redundancy bit used for line coding. As a result, the proposed code shows lower code rate, but better spectral characteristics in low frequency region and lower residual bit error rate than the conventional error correction line code using Hamming (7, 4) code.

  • 본 고에서는 ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mod) 교환기에 4선식의 HDSL 정합기능을 구현하고, 기존의 음성전화 가입자 서비스 매체로서 완전 동 선로를 이용하여 HDSL(High-rate Digital Subscriber Line) 서비스를 제공하기 위한 가입자 서비스 루프 거리 및 셀 손실 성능을 평가하였다. 이 평가는 전이중 2B1Q 전송 방식을 지원하는 HDSL 정합장치를 통하여 누화, 임펄스 등 구리전화선(copper telephone line)에 존재하는 중요한 전송 손실을 감안한 CSA(Carrier Serving Area)환경에서 각각 26게이지 <0.4 mm> 선로와 24 게이지(0.5 mm) 페어 선로를 이용하여 E1 급(2.048 Mbps)데이터 전송할 때 $10^7$의 셀 손실 율을 만족하는 가입자 서비스 루프 거리를 평가하였다. 또한, ATM 시스템 하의 시범환경에서 MPEG-1급 주문형 비디오서비스, 영상회의 서비스 및 고속 인터넷 접속 서비스 등의 대표적인 서비스 데모를 실시하였다.

  • In this paper, complex permittivities of reference liquids were measured by a sample holder of terminated slotted coaxial line with a movable probe at mobile communications frequencies. The validity of the liquid measurement system was checked by experimental tests with the reference liquids proposed in IEEE Std 1528-200X.

  • The MCS(Micro-Coplanar Strip) line with ground has been analyzed. The conformal mapping method is used to calculate the quasi-static effective dielectric constant and characteristic impedance of this MCS line. The computed results of the present work are found to be in good agreement when compared with the results obtained using commercial S/W, IE3D. And in this paper, the stepped-impedance low pass filter is designed and fabricated with MCS lines for improving the frequency responses. The LPF proposed structure has been also designed and implemented to have the sharp attenuation characteristics in stop band. The agreement between simulation and measurement results verify the implemented LPF.
