Study of university students' perceptions on participation in elections via structural equation model - Focusing on K university students (구조방정식모형을 이용한 대학생의 선거 참여 인식 연구 - K대 학생의 예)

  • Through the survey of the K university students' perception on participation in elections, we want to find ways to induce a sound political participation and to effectively be able to boost voter turnout. We analyze the relations among image on election, interest in election and will of participation via structural equation model. We found that both image on election and interest in election significantly influence on will of participation in election. Using the last election participation as a moderating variable, we found that image on election has more effects on will of participation for the participants but not for the case of interest in election.

  • This article tries to find out some regulatory facts to improve and vitalize roles of social media such as facebook, twitter, etc in the election campaign. For this goal, a theoretical approach is based on the agnostic and open aspects of the regulation system of election. Case study and in-depth interview were used as research methods in this article. The results are as follows. First, some differences are in the election regulatory system regarding the roles of social media in UK, US, Japan and Korea. The election public sphere systems of these countries categorized to the types of legal factors to control political communications in election public sphere; free-speech oriented system(UK. US), limited free-speech oriented system(Korea), normative-oriented system(Japan). Second, most respondents answered they agreed with some improvement ideas to reflect needs of netizen and academic who suggest to minimize regulatory burdens on social media in the political communication during the election campaign.

  • The aim of the this study is to observer paradoxal phenomenon in media election. The media, especially Television, was traditionally a journalistic operation representing political events on the outside of political camp. But recently, it intervenes to 'the political camp' as the most important method for election campaign. A centripetal of electronic medias making the dominant political space offer an alternative plan which get over the modern crisis of representative democracy. Even though, to the production of the political symbol and the operation of symbol which constitute substantial system of political action, the human being subject is excluded and the technical system of communication make up a govern structure. So it makes the contradictory situation. TV broadcast for election campaigning show well this paradoxal situation. The institutionalization of electoral broadcasting oriented by the State strengthens an immensification, an economical and political efficiency and a transparency of electoral campaign. But the means which controls the mind of public is also strengthened. It relates the production and circulation of the political symbol and the symbolic image restricted by dominator. In conclusion, this study argues that the media election is institutionalized by the instrumental reason(procedural rationality of politics and technological rationality of broadcasting), therefore the candidate take a fragment roles for the production of transcendental political symbol and the voters accommodate to the symbolic images which are foreseen and they judge.

Content and Value Analysis of the Records of Green Party Korea's Election Activities (녹색당 선거활동 기록의 의미 분석 연구)

  • An election is a major event in a country that elects the people's representatives. Currently, Korea's electoral system has a structure that limits the exclusion of the minority's opinion. Also, it has strengthened the monopoly of major political parties. Despite the harsh conditions, Green Party Korea has proposed an alternative to prevent even the minority from being excluded by practicing direct democracy and expanding proportional representation through the institutionalization of the democratic process within the party. Election campaigns should thus reflect this orientation of Green Party Korea. The local elections and the national elections reflect Korea's political and social status and show the course over two minority parties beyond such limits. Moreover, they provide evidence of the activities of Green Party Korea. The paper analyzes how the election archives of the party hold the values of democracy, how minor parties jump to another because of the unfavorable election system, and how the archives of Green Party Korea reflect its values on the political history of Korea.

  • TV broadcast of election returns is an index to measure a public responsibility, scientific analysis and production power in each broadcasting station. This is the reason why each broadcasting station is spending a great amount of money, mobilizing many people and using facilities. TV election returns broadcast has been advanced for decades, particularly in its production, system and presentation. And, among those, broadcast graphic and inset graphic, which are representing election-related information, have became the important components in TV broadcast of election returns because of the advancement of production technology, a variety of presentation forms, and the visual effects. In this research, I analyze the part of image composition in inset graphic of TV election returns broadcast. As a result, in making insert graphic, each broadcasting station is analyzed to be producing the accurate and clear delivery of information on the stability and reliability of a visualized form, first and foremost. It requires that we research the methodology for the accurate and reliable delivery of information, as well as various image productions with a result of the progress in production technology.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive design factors to provide inclusive information without encouraging the division of region and ideology, and to present the prospects of election result infographics design through evaluation and interpretation of the based design factors. First, the methods and results of the study identify the characteristics of infographics design through theoretical considerations to confirm the importance of visualizing data, and the case study of infographics design as the main flow is cathogram-style design using various forms of digital interaction. Second, the 21 st National Assembly election of Korea resulted in the response to infographics design and evaluated and analyzed the suitability of design factors through surveys and expert interview for five designs selected (suitable for purpose, convenient, aesthetic, easy of understanding, and public concern). In conclusion, it is predicted that the election results infographics design will evolve to offset regional and ideological division by providing inclusive information tailored to consumer needs by providing different types of infographics designs that meet basic objectives and functions.

  • 본 논문은 마그네틱 센서 기반의 오브젝트 추적 기술을 이용한 혼합현실 선거 방송 시스템을 제안한다. 마커 기반의 증강현실 기술은 방송환경에서는 강한 조명으로 인하여 마커의 특징점 추출의 간섭 및 소실로 추적이 끊기는 문제가 있다. 특히, 선거방송와 같은 생방송 중에 그래픽이 튀거나 사라지는 것은 방송 사고와 다름없다. 따라서, 우리는 조명이나 가림의 영향 없이 추적 성능을 강인하게 하기 위해서, 무선의 마그네틱 센서를 내장한 별도로 제작한 투표함 모형을 추적하도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 마그네틱 센서를 내장한 실물 투표함을 실시간으로 추적하게 하고, 그 정보를 증강현실 방송 시스템과 통합한 시스템 구성 및 그것을 이용한 증강현실 선거 방송 어플리케이션을 보여준다. 그 결과, 연기자가 선거정보그래픽과 연동하는 투표함을 자유롭고 직관적으로 움직일 수 있었으며, 자연스러운 증강현실 합성 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 선거를 전자적으로 구성하기 위해서는 비밀성(privacy), 선거권(eligibility) 등과 함께 전체검증(universal verifiability)과 매표방지(receipt-freeness) 속성을 반드시 제공해야 한다. 지금까지 제안된 전자선거 기법은 매표방지와 전체검증을 제공하기 위해 도청 불가능한 채널이라는 물리적인 가정 하에 이루어지거나 하드웨어 장치를 이용하더라도 장치에 대한 신뢰가 가정되었다. 본 논문에서는 믹스 서버나 랜덤마이저의 역할을 스마트카드와 같은 안전한 하드웨어 장치가 하므로 물리적 가정 없이 효율적으로 구현한다. 제안한 시스템은 표를 섞는 과정에서 permutation matrix를 사용하여 증명하므로 증명의 회수가 적고 간단하여 효율적이다. 또한, 지금까지 제안된 대부분의 선거 기법은 ElGamal 암호시스템의 준동형 특성을 이용하여 모든 표를 결합한 다음 해독하여 집계를 계산하는데 이는 이산대수 문제를 효율적으로 해결할 수 있어야 가능했다. 이 논문에서는 ElGamal 암호시스템과 다차잉여 기반 암호알고리즘인 Naccacne 암호알고리즘을 결합하여 표를 인코딩 함으로써 유권자의 수가 많은 선거에 대해서도 다항 시간 내에 집계가 가능하다.

  • 선거는 한 국가의 발전에 큰 영향을 미치는 중요한 행사이다. 국민들의 선거에 대한 관심은 해가 갈수록 증가하고 있고, 선거철마다 많은 여론이 형성되고 있다. 유권자들은 자신이 원하는 후보를 선정하기 위해 많은 후보자 정보를 살펴보아야한다. 올바른 판단을 위해서는 수많은 정치인과 정당에 대한 사전 분석이 필요할 것이다. 이는 시사나 정치에 대한 지속적인 관심이 요구되기 때문에 쉬운 일이 아니다. 그래서 후보자에 관한 기사나 공인된 온라인 토론에서의 정보를 검색하고 점수화하여, 투표자들이 후보를 결정하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

  • 선거 로고송은 출마자의 공약을 전달하며, 후보자의 이미지를 대중에게 각인시켜야 한다. 특정 계층에게만 호소력이 있거나, 거부감을 주어서는 안된다. 청중에게 다른 출마자를 비방하는 내용을 담지 않으면서도 상대 출마자와 차별화를 나타낼 수 있어야 하며 신뢰감을 줄 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 신뢰감의 기준으로 가사전달력을 비교 분석하였다. 역대 선거로고송에 사용되었던 음원 중 신세대 트로트를 선정하여 비교한 결과 평균 49.%였다.
