  • This study is to develop high quality floor mortar which can be applied in construction sites using EXFG(Expansive admixdure Flue Gas desulfurization gypsum). First, as the substitution rate of ALS(Aluminum Slag) increased, the flow is increased proportionally. EXFG showed a tendency to decrease with increasing substitution rate. Also, in the case of the setting time of 5% of ALS replacement rate, the setting time of Plain compared to EXFG was decreased by 5~20%. The compressive strength increased with the ALS replacement ratio at 0%, 5% and the EXFG replacement ratio at 1%. The strength was increased when the ALS replacement ratio was more than 10%. In the case of ALS replacement rate of 0% and 5%, drying shrinkage compared to plain was decreased by about 10~25% regardless of EXFG replacement rate.

  • EAF reduction slag has unstable properties of expansion and destruction. Therefore, it cannot be used as a construction material. The purpose of this study was to use EAF reduction slag as a concrete admixture. EAF reduction slag contains $11CaO{\cdot}7Al_2O_3{\cdot}CaF_2$ and ${\beta}-C_2S$ (calcium aluminate compounds). To confirm the properties of EAF reduction slag as a concrete admixture, the condensation, compressive strength and activity factor due to substitution rate of EAF reduction slag were measured. Originally, EAF reduction slag was cured rapidly because of its chemical composition ($11CaO{\cdot}7Al_2O_3{\cdot}CaF_2$). On the other hand, when 8% gypsum was added, its properties of condensation and compressive strength were similar to the plain specimen. When 6% gypsum was added, the quality of the KS F 2536 standards (quality standard number 3) were met in terms of activity factor. Overall, 8% gypsum addition is the most appropriate by considering the activity factor in the long-term compressive strength.

  • In this study, to evaluate the setting time, compressive strength and drying shrinkage of ordinary Portland cement and Portland blast-furnace slag cement mortar with 0, 10, 20, 30 wt.% alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate. As a results, as the replacement ratio of alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate increased, the initial setting time of ordinary Portland cement and Portland blast-furnace slag cement mortar was faster. In addition, the compressive strength decreased with increasing replacement ratio of alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate in both ordinary Portland cement mortar and Portland blast-furnace slag cement mortar. The strength development of Portland blast-furnace slag cement mortar with alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate was effective than that of ordinary Portland cement mortar. On the other hand, in the case of the mortar with alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate, it was confirmed that shrinkage deformation was reduced at the early age by growth pressure of needle-shaped ettringite crystals produced by incorporation of alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate. However, the effect of inhibiting shrinkage deformation of mortar with alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate was not significant as the age passed. Therefore, it is considered that the alpha-calcium sulfate hemihydrate is useful as a construction material.
