South Korea has many landslides caused by heavy rains during summer time recently and the landslides continue to cause damages in many places. These landslides occur repeatedly each year, and the frequency of landslides is expected to increase in the coming future due to dramatic global climate change. In Korea, 81.5% of the population is living in urban areas and about 1,055 million people are living in Seoul. In 2011, the landslide that occurred in Seocho-dong killed 18 people and about 9% of Seoul's area is under the same land conditions as Seocho-dong. Even the size of landslide occurred in a city is small, but it is more likely to cause a big disaster because of a greater population density in the city. So far, the effort has been made to identify landslide vulnerability and causes, but now, the new dem and arises for the prediction study about the areal extent of disaster area in case of landslides. In this study, the diffusion model of the landslide disaster area was established based on Cellular Automata(CA) to analyze the physical diffusion forms of landslide. This study compared the accuracy with the Seocho-dong landslide case, which occurred in July 2011, applying the SCIDDICA model and the CAESAR model. The SCIDDICA model involves the following variables, such as the movement rules and the topographical obstacles, and the CAESAR model is also applied to this process to simulate the changes of deposition and erosion.

한국유가공협회는 지난 5월12일 서울 서초동소재 축산회관대강당에서 ‘우유 및 유제품의 위생관리와 소비자 보호’란 주제로 세미나를 개최했다. 이날 세미나에서는 정충일 건국대교수가 ‘우유와 유제품의 위생관리’, 김태섭 보사부 위생관리과장이 ‘92위생시책 및 위생관리방향’, 김천주 주부클럽연합회장이 ‘유제품과 소비자보호’란 제목으로 주제발표를 했다. 본지는 여름철 유제품 위생관리를 위해 이중 ‘우유 및 유제품위생관리’를 전개한다.

지구를 지키는 미국 슈퍼 히어로 영화 '어벤져스'가 있다면 대한민국 오리산업을 지키기 위해 '오벤져스'가 뭉쳤다. 지난 9월 14일 서울 서초동에 위치한 제2축산회관에서 한국오리협회와 오리자조금관리위원회 주최로 '착한소비증진 공동마케팅 상호협약식'이 열렸다. 오리고기 중량단위 판매정착 캠페인과 병행한 이번 행사는 오리고기 외식산업 판매확대와 외식업 프랜차이즈와의 동반성장을 견인하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다. 오리산업을 위해 뭉친 김만섭 오리협회장과 최문길 미트더석셰스 대표, 이재훈 셰프를 비롯해 소비자대표로 참석한 김연화 소비자공익네트워크 회장까지 한 자리에 모인 것. 이날 행사를 중심으로 오리중량단위 판매 등 오리고기 소비확대를 위한 미래 방향을 가늠해 본다.

This study assessed urban flood risk using a Bayesian probability statistical method and GIS incorporating a climate change scenario. Risk is assessed based on a combination of hazard probability and its consequences, the degree of impact. Flood probability was calculated on the basis of a Bayesian model and future flood occurrence likelihoods were estimated using climate change scenario data. The flood impacts include human and property damage. Focusing on Seocho-gu, Seoul, the findings are as follows. Current flood probability is high in areas near rivers, as well as low lying and impervious areas, such as Seocho-dong and Banpo-dong. Flood risk areas are predicted to increase by a multiple of 1.3 from 2030 to 2050. Risk assessment results generally show that human risk is relatively high in high-rise residential zones, whereas property risk is high in commercial zones. The magnitude of property damage risk for 2050 increased by 6.6% compared to 2030. The proposed flood risk assessment method provides detailed spatial results that will contribute to decision making for disaster mitigation.

FOD란 Finish On Demand for documents and graphics solution의 약자로 인쇄, 출력, 라미네이팅, UV코팅 및 대형실사출력 등의 서비스를 고객이 요구하는 주문대로 신속히 제작, 완료하는 시스템 사업을 의미한다. 최근 서울 서초구 잠원동에 프린팅FOD 1호점을 오픈한 김양평 회장을 만나 이러한 사업을 구상하게 된 동기와 앞으로의 계획 등을 들어본다.

Heavy rain and heavy snow as representative extreme weather are recently an issue in urban area. The paper aims at modeling the scenarios of evacuation that minimizes economic loss of the designated urban area with improving travel efficiency by providing road closure information facing an extremely heavy rainfall. The paper develops a model by using a NetLogo toolkit applied to the study area of Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. The model conducts a simulation of travel time under different scenarios of information provision. The simulation results show that it is efficient to provide the information of road closure to 20~40% of the drivers under the scenario of humid road or rainfall less than 20mm, whereas to 40~60% of the drivers under the scenario of heavy rainfall more than 20mm.

법무부가 작년 발표한 자료에 의하면 국내 체류 외국인(단기 장기 불법체류 포함)이 100만명을 돌파했다고 발표했다. 이는 전년도 대비 15% 늘어난 수치로 국적별로는 중국이 44만 여명 44%로 가장 많았으며, 미국이 12%, 베트남 6%, 필리핀 5%, 태국 4% 등으로 조사되었다. 단일민족이라 자부하는 나라임에도 꽤 많은 이방인들이 섞여 살고 있는 것이다. 그러다 보니 자연히 서울에는 외국인들이 집단으로 거주하는 외국인 마을도 하난 둘 생겨나게 되었다. 다국적 거리인 이태원을 비롯해, 프랑스인들이 모여 사는 서초구 반포 4동 서래마을, 일본인들이 많은 이촌1동, 몽골 우즈베키스탄 카자흐스탄 등 중앙아시인들이 많은 광희동, 무슬림 거주지인 이태원동 등이 대표적 외국인 마을이다. 서울 한편에 자리 잡은 외국인 마을의 이국적 풍경을 찾아가 보자.

In this study, 64 administrative regions with high frequencies of apartment trade in Seoul, Korea are classified by the apartment sale price. To consider distributions of apartment price for each region as well as the mean of the price, the symbolic histogram-valued data approach is employed. Symbolic data include all types of data which have internal variation in themselves such as intervals, lists, histograms, distributions, and models, etc. As a result of the cluster analysis using symbolic histogram data, it is found that Gangnam, Seocho, and Songpa districts and regions near by those districts have relatively higher prices and larger dispersions. This result makes sense because those regions have good accessibility to downtown and educational environment.
