Evaluation of Sidewalk Level of Service Considering Land Use Patterns (용도지역 특성을 고려한 보도 설계 서비스수준 평가방안)

  • Pedestrians and vehicle users should be treated with equal importance in urban street design. However, current street design suggests that the design criteria for sidewalks is based on the functional hierarchy of the vehicles, therefore it is necessary to develop sidewalk design standards that give more weight to pedestrians rather than vehicles. For this, this study suggests that the level of service of pedestrians should be considered in the process of designing sidewalks. Currently, level of service (LOS) criteria for pedestrians in the Korean Highway Capacity Manual are based on pedestrian volume, but the volume of pedestrians is seldomly estimated in practice. So, the current LOS criteria has limitations in terms of practical use. Also, the study assumes that the pedestrian flow rate is hardly the dominant factor that could affect the LOS of pedestrians at most urban sidewalks. In this context, the study considers a new LOS for sidewalk design based on the comfort of pedestrians while passing pedestrians coming from the opposite direction. Then the study attempts to link the new LOS criteria to the land use patterns using data of pedestrian traffic characteristics acquired from the field. In addition to this, the scope in which the suggested criteria can be applied is suggested.

  • A fundamental issue to consider when searching Web information is the quality of information itself and of service. If a Quality Information System (QIS) of Digital Library is sought, new measurement criteria and evaluation index for Web information service are required. Reliance on the existing evaluation criteria is not acceptable if data retrieved are not information and the service is only noise to end-user. Applying existing evaluation criteria of online database to Environmental & Energy Engineering Web DB revealed the limitations and provided a practical and case-based information for improvement. No attempt was made to survey comprehensively all of the evaluation methods that could possibly be relevant. Instead, this discussion concentrates on the information service evaluation index being developed in the KDPC Project. The research found that domestic Web-DB service are still woefully insufficient to conduct comprehensive investigations on environmental topics. More qualified and specialized R&D Web information service and the development of new evaluation criteria based on this investigation(research I.) will be discussed in follow-up research II.

  • In the end-user domain of an IoT environment, there are more and more intelligent M2M devices that provide resources to create and share application services. Therefore, it can be very useful to manage trust by transferring the role of the existing centralized service provider to end users in a P2P environment. However, in a decentralized M2M computing environment where end users independently provide or consume services, mutual trust building is the most important factor. This is because malicious users trying to build malfunctioning services can cause security problems in M2M computing environments such as IoT. In this paper, we provide an integrated analysis and approach for trust evaluation of M2M application services, and an optimized trust evaluation model that can guarantee reliability among users of the M2M community.

  • This paper proposes a communication distance performance evaluation method for mobility of service robots equipped with a Wi-Fi module. Service robots have function of mobile communication system according to classified services and utilize a (preferred) communication method, wireless lan(IEEE802.11 a/b/gin) communication method of ISM band(2.4GHz and 5.8GHz). For evaluating degradation performance of wireless data for the service robot's mobility. We measured and presented reference vectors obtained by utilizing a distance attenuation correlation method in the real world environment. To evaluate performance of the proposed method, path loss of reference vectors was assigned to the Azimuth 301W and then transmission rate and the transmit throughput of the test sample were measured by the Chariot. The proposed measurement method is necessary for securing wireless LAN communication distance for mobility of mobile smart device and service robots. In addition, if the proposed measurement method os adopted, It would be expected that mobile smart device vendors would utilize the method as an effective wireless LAN mobility communication distance performance evaluation method.

  • This study aims to suggest a new approach to economic valuation of the special library, in response to the necessity of economic justification of the special library operated by firms and research institutes. Benefit measurement elements and analysis methods to be used in the study were derived through feasibility evaluation on models in previous studies, and objectivity and applicability were the criteria for feasibility evaluation. Depending on which type of resources are used in providing service, different benefit measurement elements and methods were applied. Based on this, calculation formula for service valuation of special library was presented. The development of analysis model for economic valuation of special library made it possible to objectively prove the value of the special library, and is considered to provide an opportunity to publicize the real value of the special library.

  • For public libraries to deliver appropriate information to various types of users in information society that allows people to access and use a variety of information, it is necessary to provide services applying the universal design principles in terms of universality. The purpose of this study is to develop the evaluation indicators for universality of public library services, which apply universal design principles to evaluate if public libraries provide appropriate services that meet their original purpose. The final 'Evaluation Indicators of Universality of Public Library Services' consist of six evaluation areas and 41 evaluation contents in 10 evaluation items. Each evaluation content is categorized into a relevant factor among five universal design applicable factors (Universality, Convenience, Recognition, Safety and Economic Feasibility) according to its characteristics.

  • The future of appraisal industry looks negative in the reality of change of the property market and over-competition of the field. Unless Constituent members of appraisal industry cope actively with the changing circumstances the profit structure of their company will get worse and they will finally fall behind in the competition. The best policy to survive from the changing circumstances in the limited appraisal market is to provide better service and improve its structure in order to have differential competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to describe the relation between the service factors of appraisal industry and customer satisfaction for providing more effective and high quality appraisal service.

  • 웹 사용성(Web usability)은 웹 사이트 이용자가 원하는 목표를 보다 쉽게 달성하도록 시스템을 설계하는 것으로 이용의 편이성을 말한다. 본 연구에서는 국내 의료기관 웹 사이트를 대상으로 사용성 평가를 실시하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 의료기관을 종합병원, 대학병원, 일반병원 3개의 그룹으로 나누고 각 그룹에서 4개씩 총 12개 병원을 선정하여 평가하였으며, 사용성 평가를 위해 평가 전설문지, 태스크 수행 평가, 평가 후 설문지 그리고 평가자 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 설문지 결과와 인터뷰 결과를 볼 때, 대다수의 병원들이 예약과 취소, 정보검색 등 웹 서비스 제공에 노력을 기울이고 있지만 실제 사용자는 병원의 주요 서비스를 이용하는데 있어서 편리하다고 느끼지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 태스크 수행 평가 결과를 살펴보면, 대학병원은 다른 그룹과 비교해 볼 때 비교적 사용성을 고려하여 잘 설계되었으나 서비스 절차의 단순화 작업이 필요하다고 판단되며, 일반병원의 경우 태스크 수행과 관련된 서비스 자체가 제공되지 않거나 체계적이지 못한 경우가 있어 개선이 필요하였다.

  • In this paper We focuses on suggestion to quality model for IoT infrastructure services for Internet of Things. Quality model is suggested on security set out in ISO25000 quality factors and assessment of the existing traditional software application of ISO 9126 quality model. We validated that the proposed model can be realized it was applied to evaluate the 4 elements and related security in Metrics.
