Sectoral System of Innovation and R&D Support Service: Focused on the Case of NUC Electronics (산업별 혁신시스템과 R&D 지원서비스 : 엔유씨전자 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how two factors among various affecting factors of technological innovation, i.e. sectoral system of innovation and R&D support service, were actually applied in the case of NUC Electronics. This company has achieved high level of innovation performance through change of injection port and improvement of extracting rate. This was possible because each component of sectoral system of innovation system was matched with the innovation activity. The improvement of the performance in NUC Electronics was attributable to its own innovation efforts and R&D support service of government research institute. In the process of technological innovation, the company could receive high-level services in areas such as product design and virtual experiments that companies can not solve themselves. It can be said that the role of government and public institutions to support the shortage of SMEs was important. In terms of each component of sectoral system of innovation, we found that there were many opportunities of new technology; sustainability was low; imitation was easy; appropriability was low but it has dualily; accumulation of technology was relatively high, availability of external knowledge was high. At the same time, both of the company and the network played an important role, and market conditions were very favorable. In terms of R&D support services, it is a direct effect that a great deal of time and cost savings have been achieved through virtual experiments on the material and shape of the screw. As an indirect effect, the core competence of the company has been greatly strengthened by utilizing the momentum of technology development through external support, hence the company could establish the structure of virtuous circle of innovation.

  • 비즈니스 리엔지니어링 이후, 프로세스 개선 및 다양한 정보시스템 구축 등 혁신의 결과에도 불구하고 기업들은 혁신을 체질화 하는 데는 큰 성과를 보이지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 상시적인 혁신 및 혁신결과의 지식화를 달성하기 위하여 가장 효과적인 프레임워크인 PAL(Process Asset Library) 기반의 PI(Process Innovation) 방법론을 소개하고, 국내 소비재(CPG) 기업의 구축 사례를 통하여 PAL 기반의 PI가 기업 내에 체질화되는 과정을 살펴보았다.

  • 기술발전에 따른 혁신제품 및 서비스에 대한 연구는 유용성과 편의성을 중심으로 그 수용 및 저항을 서로 다른 관점에서 보아왔다. 그러나 소비자 혹은 사용자들이 느끼는 혁신제품 및 서비스에 대한 태도와 평가는 수용하려는 측면과 저항하려는 측면이 동시에 작용하며 그 결과로서 사용의도 혹은 구매의도가 결정된다고 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 혁신제품 혹은 서비스가 갖는 다양한 속성을 기술수용모형(TAM: Technology Acceptance Model) 에서의 지각된 유용성(Perceived Usefulness) 과 지각된 편의성 (Perceived Ease of Use) 개념을 사용자 지각에 기초하여 상대적 이점, 유용성, 편의성, 기술혁신성, 사용법의 변화 인식, 위험지각 등으로 구체화하고 각각의 개념이 수용적 태도와 저항에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 아울러 수용적 태도와 저항이 사용의도에 미치는 영향력을 동시에 분석 및 비교하였다. 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 중심으로 혁신제품에 대한 소비자 중심의 관리적 시사점도 제시하였다.

  • 지상파 UHD 방송의 주요 특징 중 하나는 IP기반의 양방향 서비스이다. 데이터 전송 측면에서 보면 고화질 영상을 많은 사람들이 동시에 수신할 수 있는 브로드캐스트 서비스이면서도 통신망과의 연결을 통해 콘텐츠를 확장할 수 있는 확장형 서비스라고 할 수 있다. 초고속, 초저지연, 초연결 등 세가지 중요한 특징의 5G 서비스는 이러한 지상파 UHD 방송과 어떻게 접목될 수 있을까? 초고화질로 연결되는 현장 상황은 실시간 방송의 품질을 높일 것이며, 초저지연은 무선라이브 제작환경의 혁신을 가져올 것이다. 또한 초연결성은 고품질 미디어 서비스 단말기의 무한 확장을 가져올 것이다. 이처럼 통신 기술의 혁신적인 발전은 연결형 서비스로 거듭난 지상파 방송 서비스의 진화에도 많은 영향을 미칠 것이다. 본 고에서는 5G에서 달라진 기술 혁신의 내용과 미디어 소비 환경의 변화가 지상파 방송 미디어 서비스를 어떻게 변화시키는지 논의해 보고자 한다.

Analysis of the Causal Structure Among Innovation Support Policy, Innovation and Performance: Focusing on Knowledge Service Firms (혁신 지원정책과 혁신 그리고 성과의 인과구조 분석: 지식서비스기업을 중심으로)

  • As the transition to the knowledge-based economy has been accelerated in the 21st century, the importance of the service industry has been highlighted. As the proportion of knowledge service industry in the economy and the related employment rate are continuously growing, it is necessary to bring innovation to the industry in order to increase competitiveness. In this study, the innovation types are diversified into product, process, organization, and marketing and the influencing factors have been analyzed with knowledge service firms. The complex causal relationship that is linked to the innovation performance has been analyzed by the structural equation with each innovation types as the intervening variables. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. The innovation capacity of firms in knowledge service industry has very strong positive effects either directly or indirectly on product innovation, process innovation, organizational innovation, marketing innovation, and the revenue and employment of the firm. On the other hand, innovation support policy through government intervention produce negative impact on product innovation and they do not create meaningful impact on the total effect on the revenue nor the employment growth. The innovation should ultimately create effects on the revenue and the employment of the firm. And the government support policies should be carefully designed in consideration of the final destination point of this complex causal structure.

Resistance to Mobile Commerce Services (모바일상거래 서비스의 저항요인)

  • This paper analyzes the resistance to mobile commerce services in consumer adoption process. Relative advantage, compatibility, perceived risk, complexity, self-efficacy, innovativeness and attitude for competing service have been chosen as independent variables. This paper also investigates on the significant factors which resist against adoption of mobile commerce service according to adoption phase. The results show that relative advantage, self-efficacy, perceived risk, attitude for competing service are significant factors to affect resistance to mobile commerce services. Relative advantage, perceived risk, attitude for competing service are significant resistance to mobile commerce services for consumers in before-adoption group and compatibility, complexity, self-efficacy are significant factors for consumers in after-adoption group. This study can be extended to new communication services such as Wibro and DMB to reduce resistances in early adoption phase.

A Study on the Impact of Perceived Benefits of Subscription Services on Attitudes toward Subscription Services and Continued Intention of Subscription Services: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Innovativeness (구독 서비스의 지각된 혜택이 구독 서비스 태도와 지속이용의도에 미치는 영향 연구: 혁신성향의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study sought to determine the influence of perceived benefits of subscription services on attitudes toward subscription services and continued use intention of them. For this purpose, the perceived benefits of the subscription service were composed of perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness, and the personal variable, innovativeness, was set as a control variable to examine its influence. As a result of the study, perceived benefits, such as perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness, both showed a positive influence on attitude toward subscription services and continued use intention of them. The moderating effect of innovativeness on perceived usefulness was also confirmed. The influence of perceived usefulness on attitudes toward subscription services was found to be greater in groups with low innovation propensity than in groups with high innovativeness. These results provide implications about the value of personal characteristics for the continued use of subscription services.

  • This study aims to understand crucial factors affecting user's Fintech payment service adoption. On the basis of innovation diffusion theory and prior Fintech literature, this study classifies the influence factors of users' adoption of Fintech payment service into two dimensions - service dimension containing complexity, perceived benefit, trust in service provider and user dimension containing personal innovativeness and security breach experience. The data analysis results using binary logistic regression shows the negative direct effects of perceived risk, complexity, security accident experience on user's service adoption are statistically significant. Personal innovativeness has a positive effect on user's Fintech payment service adoption. The moderation effect of security accident experience is also significant at p<0.05.

  • Although the volume of mobile internet services has increased continually over the years, the rapid diffusion has still fallen short of expected quality. This paper considers mobile internet service industry in Korea as a system failure due to structural problems and attempts to identify systemic imperfection mechanisms from the supply side. The problems of mobile internet industry in Korea are categorized into interaction failures, institutional failures and capabilities failures which contribute to system failure and at the same time, failure types are linked to each other. It is needed to improve policy and institutions in operation and develop new policy for contents providers to promote mobile internet industry. This research findings will contribute to policy making to promote mobile internet service industry and development of sectoral system for emerging industries.
