  • Metal Powder Metallurgy is a manufacturing technology that makes unique model parts or a certain type of product by using a hardening phenomenon when a powder of metal or metal oxide is put it into a mold and compression-molded by a press and then heated and sintered at a high temperature. Powder metallurgical press equipment is mainly used to make the parts of automobile, electronic parts and so on, and most of them are manufactured using precise servo motor. The intelligent precision servo control powder molding press system which is designed and implemented in this paper has advantages of lowering the price and maintaining the precision by using the mechanical camshaft for the upper ram part and precisely controlling the lower ram part using the high precision servo system. In addition, OPC-based monitoring and process data collection systems are designed and implemented to provide scalability that can be applied to smart manufacturing management systems that utilize Big Data in the future.

  • This paper presents a velocity-synchronizing control for the multiple axes of an injection unit; based on MBS, a virtual design model has been developed for the multiple-axes servomechanism. Prior to the design of the controller, a linear plant model was derived via open-loop response simulations. To synchronize the motions of the multiple axes, a cross-type synchronizing controller was designed and combined with the PID control to accommodate any parameter mismatches among the multiple axes. From the tracking control simulations, a significant reduction of both velocity-tracking and position-tracking errors was achieved through the use of the proposed control scheme.

  • This study is implemented as a sensor-less position controller capable of multi-turn detection to replace the expensive absolute encoder used in the turret servo system. For sensor-less control, the position information of the rotor is essential. For this, a magnetic flux estimator was implemented from the mathematical model of IPMSM used in the turret servo system. The position of the rotor and the angular velocity of the rotor were obtained using the rotor magnetic flux calculated from the magnetic flux estimator. Using the zero-crossing technique, one pulse was generated for each rotation of the estimated rotor magnetic flux to measure the number of multi-turns. Simulation and experiment results confirmed the usefulness of the proposed method.

Disturbance Torque Suppression Control of Servo Motors for Missile Fin Actuators (미사일 Fin 액츄에이터용 서보모터의 외란 토크 억제 제어)

  • In this paper, we propose a generalized disturbance torque suppression control scheme of servo motors for missile fin actuators. Our controller consists of both a model based feed-forward controller and a stabilizing feedback controller. The feed-forward controller is designed such that the output of nominal plant tracks perfectly the reference position command with a desired dynamic characteristics. The feedback controller stabilizes the overall closed loop system. Furthermore, the feedback controller contains a free function that can be chosen arbitrary. The free function can be designed so as to achieve both the suppression of disturbances and the robustness to model uncertainties. In order to illuminate the superior performance of our control scheme to the conventional ones, we present some simulation results.

  • DC servo motors are widely used in many industrial fields as actuator of robot and driving power motors of electrical vehicle. Usually in the speed control systems, of motors, speed sensors are required and this fact results in the increased price and operating cost and the limited application of the motors. In this paper, a new speed control method for DC servo motor is proposed. In the scheme, the rotational speed is estimated by the measurement values of the armature voltage and current, instead of measurement by sensor. Optimal control theory is applied to design of the controller in construction of real system. This paper also report on the results of experiments to prove the validity of the proposed method.

  • The deadbeat properties have been well known in designing digital control systems. But recently several researchers proposed a CDBC(Continuout-time DeadBeat Controller) in continuous time. They used delay or smoothing elements from the finite Laplace Transform. A delay element is made by the exponential terms. A smoothing element is used to smooth the digital control input. And eventually the process is argumentd with smoothing elements and then well-known digital deadbeat controller is designed Sometimes samplings are done in continuous time systems and some hold devices are used to relate to digital systems. So multirate sampling may enhance the efficiency of the CDBC. A DC servo motor is chosen for implementing CDBC algorithm. Especially Outputs according to the variable input and disturbance are simulated. by use of Matlab Simulink.

  • This paper proposes a robust direct adaptive control system implementation using a 80286 microprocessor-based system for controlling the speed of a DC servo motor. In this paper, assuming that the unmodeled dynamics of the plant are sufficiently small in the low-frequency range, the plant as linear time-invariant system is the second relative degree, we construct the direct adaptive control system with the algorithm considering plant unmodeled dynamics and execute the experiment, and compare the characteristics with those of PI algorithm's. It shows that an easy implementation of the built controller is due to the usage of software for the algorithm.

  • Variable Structure System(VSS) la being extended to a new control system of ac servo machines for its merits of simple mechanism and robustness. This paper has studied about applying VSS to position control for brushless servo motor. But VSS has the chattering problem of control input. This chattering phenomenon cause acoustic noises, torque ripple and increase harmonics of the current. One of the useful way to eliminate this defect of VSS, linearlizing the switching function is discussed here. Though the conventional method of linearizing the switching function diminishes the chattering, it may degrade the robustness of the system. In this paper, new linearized switching function which shows robust performance to the parametric variation and reduces chattering simultaneously is introduced and assured by simulation.

  • This study suggests a new type shaft generating system driven by hydrostatic transmission suitable for small size vessels. Since the shaft generating system is affected ceaselessly by disturbances such as speed variation in pump driving speed and variation in external load, a robust servo control must be implemented to obtain stable electric power with constant frequency. Thus, in this study, a digital robust servo control algorithm is applied to the controller design. By the experiment and the numerical computation, the frequency variation characteristics of the generating system under various disturbances are investigated. Conclusively, it is said that the shaft generating system proposed in this study shows excellent control performances.

  • In this study of made Autmation system is moving linear transfer system for mainly forming of small electronic unit and other at press line.
