  • Recently, agriculture and the environment has changed dramatically due to global warming and abnormal weather. In particular, it is necessary to develop new agricultural techniques according to transforming the growing environment of agricultural crops. Therefore, "Smart Farm" building technology for controlling agricultural environment and improving efficiency for ICT technology development has recently been introduced. However, in reality, systematic and objective evaluation items are absent at various levels and management levels that affect the management environment of the smart farm. In this research, it derived the importance index among the factors associated with Smart Farm technology by AHP method. As a result, in order to evaluate comprehensive operation and management of the smart farm, the two evaluation fields(sensor device and control/information management system) were selected as the top evaluation items. These results mean that system that can detect the growth environment information of agricultural crops and control the growing environment is more important than anything, when smart farm is applied. It is judged that the results of this research can be used as basic data for making evaluation indicators associated with the introduction of smart palm technology in the future.

  • The automated fish feed system currently used in Korea supplies a certain amounts of feed to water tanks at a certain time. This automated system can reduce the labor cost of managing aqua farms, but it is very difficult to control intelligently and appropriately the amount of expensive feed that is critical to aqua farm productivity. In this paper, we propose the FIIFF Inference Model( Fuzzy Inference-based Intelligent Fish Feeding Model) that can solves the problems of these existing automatic fish feeding devices and maximizes the efficiency of feed supply while properly maintaining the growth rate of fish in aqua farms. The proposed FIIFF inference model has the advantage of being able to control feed amounts appropriately since it computes the amount of feed using the current water environments and fish activity state of the aqua farms. The result of the feed amount yield experiment with the proposed FIIFF Inference Model represents the effect of saving 14.8% over the eight months of actual feed amount in the aqua farm.

  • A dynamic compartment model was developed to evaluate the transport of accidently released radionuclides onto rice-fields. In the model, the surface water compartment and shoot-base absorption were introduced to account for the effect of irrigation, which is essential to a rice cultivation. The soil mixing by plough and irrigation before transplanting rice was also considered, and the rate of root-uptake and shoot-base absorption were modeled in terms of the function of biomass. In order to test the validation of the model, it was applied to the analysis of some simulated $^{137}Cs$ deposition experiments that were performed while cultivating rice in a greenhouse using soils sampled from rice-fields around Kori, Yonggwang and Ulchin nuclear power plants. The model prediction was generally agreed within about one order of magnitude with experimental data.

  • This study aimed to develop an optimal greenhouse model for strawberry seedling during the summer high-temperature period based on the results of field surveys. We conducted a survey on the structure types of 46 strawberry seedling farms nationwide, including width, ridge height, eaves height, ventilation method, seedling bed width, and spacing. Based on the survey results, we derived the optimal greenhouse model by considering various factors. The greenhouse width was set at 14 meters to maximize the efficiency of seedling beds and overall space. The height was determined at 2 meters, taking into account ventilation during the summer season. To reduce stress on the supporting structure due to snow loads, we established a reinforcement installation angle of 50 degrees. We analyzed two different models that use support beams with dimensions of φ48.1×2.1t and φ59.9×3.2t, respectively, to ensure structural safety against meteorological disasters, considering regional design wind speeds and snow accumulation. We utilized these developed greenhouse model to conduct strawberry seedling experiments, resulting in a high survival rate of average 93.2%. These findings confirm the usefulness of the strawberry seedling greenhouse in improving the seedling environment and enhancing overall efficiency.

  • The objective of this study was to make growth and yield models for common ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum L.) using expolinear functional equations in a closed-type plant production system. Three-band radiation type fluorescent lamps with a 12-hours photoperiod were used, and the light intensity was $200{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. Nutrient film systems with three layers were used for plant growth. Environmental conditions, such as air temperature, relative humidity and $CO_2$ concentration were controlled by an ON/OFF operation. Leaf area, shoot fresh and dry weights, light use efficiency of common ice plant as function of days after transplanting, accumulative temperature and accumulative radiation were analyzed. Leaf area, shoot fresh and dry weights per area were described using an expolinear equation. A linear relationship between shoot dry and fresh weights was observed. Light use efficiency of common ice plant was $3.3g{\cdot}MJ^{-1}$ at 30 days after transplanting. It is concluded that the expolinear growth model can be a useful tool for quantifying the growth and yield of common ice plant in a closed plant production system.

  • This study aimed to confirm the importance ratio of climate and management variables on production of orchardgrass in Korea (1982-2014). For the climate, the mean temperature in January (MTJ, ℃), lowest temperature in January (LTJ, ℃), growing days 0 to 5 (GD 1, day), growing days 5 to 25 (GD 2, day), Summer depression days (SSD, day), rainfall days (RD, day), accumulated rainfall (AR, mm), and sunshine duration (SD, hr) were considered. For the management, the establishment period (EP, 0-6 years) and number of cutting (NC, 2nd-5th) were measured. The importance ratio on production of orchardgrass was estimated using the neural network model with the perceptron method. It was performed by SPSS 26.0 (IBM Corp., Chicago). As a result, EP was the most important variable (100%), followed by RD (82.0%), AR (79.1%), NC (69.2%), LTJ (66.2%), GD 2 (63.3%), GD 1 (61.6%), SD (58.1%), SSD (50.8%) and MTJ (41.8%). It implies that EP, RD, AR, and NC were more important than others. Since the annual rainfall in Korea is exceed the required amount for the growth and development of orchardgrass, the damage caused by heavy rainfall exceeding the appropriate level could be reduced through drainage management. It means that, when cultivating orchardgrass, factors that can be controlled were relatively important. Although it is difficult to interpret the specific effect of climates on production due to neural networking modeling, in the future, this study is expected to be useful in production prediction and damage estimation by climate change by selecting major factors.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the growth characteristics of standard chrysanthemum 'Baekma', such as fresh weight, dry weight, and leaf area and to develop prediction models for the production greenhouse based on the growth parameters and climatic elements. Sigmoid regressions models for the prediction of growth parameters in terms of dry weight and leaf area were analyzed according to the number of the day after transplanting and the accumulate temperature during this experimental period. The relative growth rate (RGR) of the chrysanthemum was 0.084 g·g-1·d-1 on average during the period. The dry weight and leaf area of 'Beakma' increased exponentially according to the number of day after transplanting and the accumulated temperature, in the case of dry weight increased by an average of 39.1% until 63 days (accumulated temperature of 1601℃), after that dry weight increased by an average of 7.4% before harvest. The leaf area increased by an average of 63.3% until the 28th day after transplanting, and by an average of 6.5% until the 84th day before flower bud differentiation occurred, and increased by an average of 10.6% before harvest. This experiment can be used as a useful data for establishing a cultivation management system and a planned year-round production system for standard chrysanthemum "Baekma". To make a more precise growth prediction model, it will need to be corrected and verified based on various weather data including accumulated irradiation.

  • In this study, smart farm technology was used by farmers cultivating 'CHIKUMASSHU T-011' in order to develop an optimal growth model for the precision cultivation of bottle-grown winter mushroom and the results of the same are mentioned herein. Farmers participating in the experiment used 60 ㎡ of bed area with 4 rows and 13 columns of shelf shape, 20 horsepower refrigerator, 100T of sandwich panel for insulation, 6 ultrasonic humidifiers, 12 kW of heating, and 20,000 bottles of Flammulina velutipes mushroom spores. The temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide concentrations, which directly affect the growth of the mushroom, were collected and analyzed from the environmental sensors installed at the winter mushroom cultivation area. The initial temperature was found to be 14.5℃, which was maintained at 14℃ to 15℃ until the 10th day. In the restriction phase, the initial temperature was 4℃ and was maintained between 2℃ and 3℃ until the 15th day, while during the growth phase, it was maintained between 7.5℃ to 9.5℃. Analysis of the humidity data revealed initial humidity to be 100%, which varied between 88% to 98% during primordia formation period. The humidity remained between 77% to 96% until the 15th day, in the restriction phase and between 75% to 83% during the growth phase. The initial carbon dioxide concentration was 3,500 ppm and varied between 3,500 ppm to 6,000 ppm during primordia formation period and was maintained at 6,000 ppm until the 15th day. During the growth phase, the carbon dioxide concentration was found to be over 6,000 ppm. Fruiting body characteristics of 'CHIKUMASSHU T-011' cultivated in the farmhouse were as follows: Pileus diameter of 7.5 mm and thickness of 4.1 mm, stipe thickness of 3.3 mm, and length of 154.2 mm. The number of valid fruiting bodies was 1,048 unit per 1,400 mL bottle, and the individual weight was 0.71 g per unit. The yield of fruiting bodies was 402.8 g per 1,400 mL bottle.
