  • Generally scheduling papers focused on the processing time only. But this paper intend to develope the scheduling problem which deal with the precessing time, transport time between machine and processing cost in a flexible manufacturing system(FMS) simultaneously. And this work considers a releasing, loading and alternative routing problem together. As a case study, numerical example is demonstrated to show the simplicity and the effectiveness of the proposed model.

  • This paper deals with a scheduling problem with the objective of maximizing the throughput rate in flexible manufacturing system with shop type. Manufacturing system is consisted of multi-stage in series. All kinds of parts are processed in same in processing time. No buffer space is allowed between stages, and no part waiting is allowed in each stage. Part flow control method for determining the optimal production sequence of all parts and the production starting time of each part is proposed.

  • In this paper, a case study is introduced on the development of an inventory management system for the textile industry. For the low-cost and high-efficient production, a systematic management is needed from make-to-order to delivery. In this paper, an integrated inventory management system for the D company is developed to manage the whole information related with make-to-order, production, delivery, and inventory, and so forth.

  • 국내신발업체들의 생산시스템은 탄력성이 부족하고 표준화가 미흡하여 자동화, 정보화 등을 매우 어렵게 하고 있다. 특히 OEM 생산에 의존하는 중소신발생산기업들은 OEM의 특성상 촉박한 일정에 쫓기게 되어 생산계획 및 공정조건 둥을 최적으로 설정하지 못하고 과거의 경험 둥에 의해 단기적이고 즉흥적으로 설정하고 있다. 이러한 형태는 중소신발생산기업들의 생산성 저하와 손실 초래의 중요한 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 신발공정의 효율 및 생산성을 극대화하기 위해 중소신발생산기업의 생산시스템에 기반을 둔 시뮬레이션 모형을 개발한다. 이를 이용하여 현재의 생산공정 및 관리시스템에 대한 여러 가지 문제점 및 비효율적 요소들을 파악하고, 그에 따른 최적의 개선대안들을 도출하고 제시한다.

  • This study proposed a new optimization-based decision model for an enterprise resource planning and production scheduling of a pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing plant. To do this work, we first define the inflow and outflow information as well as the model structure, and develop an optimization model to minimize the production time (i.e., makespan) using a mixed integer linear programing (MILP). The unique feature of the proposed model is that the optimal process scheduling is established based on real-time resource logistics information using a radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, thereby theoretically requiring no material inventories. essential information for process operation, such as the required amount of raw materials and estimated arrival timing to manufacturing plant, is used as logistics constraints in the optimization model to yield the optimal manufacturing scheduling to satisfy final production demands. We illustrated the capability of the proposed decision model by applying the optimization model to two scheduling problems in a real pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing process. As a result, the optimal production schedule and raw materials order timing were identified to minimize the makespan while satisfying all the product demands.

  • 오리 종란을 수집하기 위해서 이용하는 가장 보편적인 사육 방법은 암.수를 일정한 비율로 합사하는 것으로 자연교미를 이용하는 것이다. 그러나 우수한 종오리나 특정 합성종오리(종간 혹은 속간 잡종)를 생산하기 위해서는 인위적인 인공수정기술을 이용하여 계획교배를 하여야 하며, 이를 위해서 선발된 오리들은 케이지 사육을 하여야 한다. 오리 인공수정기술이 닭의 인공수정기술과는 숫오리의 정액 채취기술에서만 차이가 있고 다른 부분에서는 매우 유사하므로 정액채취부분을 중심으로 설명을 하고자 한다.

  • Executions of SCM in a chemical company of which divisions produce petrochemicals, compounds, batteries, IT material and medicine directly affect their own profit. Execution level of SCM or optimization is very important. This work presents activities of SCM and optimization of inefficient issues in several industrial divisions using mathematical optimization method. The meaning is not only academic research but also making a useful tool which active partner deals with in his work. It is explained how to do beforehand and afterward optimization problem. The benefits are mentioned in the sections. The first of examples would be cover supply plan optimization, optimal profit business plan, and scheduling of a stretching process of polarizer based on minimizing raw material loss in polarizer production. The second example would be cover the optimization of production/packaging plans to maximize productivity of Poly Olefin processes, and the third example is minimization of transition loss in the production of battery electrodes. The fourth example would be cover scheduling of vessel approaching to berth. Because transportation of large portion of raw material and products of petrochemical industry is dealt with vessel, scheduling of vessel approaching to berth is important at the shore of large difference of tide. The final example would be scheduling problem to minimization of change over time of ABS semi products.

Real-Time Scheduling Scheme based on Reinforcement Learning Considering Minimizing Setup Cost (작업 준비비용 최소화를 고려한 강화학습 기반의 실시간 일정계획 수립기법)

  • This study starts with the idea that the process of creating a Gantt Chart for schedule planning is similar to Tetris game with only a straight line. In Tetris games, the X axis is M machines and the Y axis is time. It is assumed that all types of orders can be worked without separation in all machines, but if the types of orders are different, setup cost will be incurred without delay. In this study, the game described above was named Gantris and the game environment was implemented. The AI-scheduling table through in-depth reinforcement learning compares the real-time scheduling table with the human-made game schedule. In the comparative study, the learning environment was studied in single order list learning environment and random order list learning environment. The two systems to be compared in this study are four machines (Machine)-two types of system (4M2T) and ten machines-six types of system (10M6T). As a performance indicator of the generated schedule, a weighted sum of setup cost, makespan and idle time in processing 100 orders were scheduled. As a result of the comparative study, in 4M2T system, regardless of the learning environment, the learned system generated schedule plan with better performance index than the experimenter. In the case of 10M6T system, the AI system generated a schedule of better performance indicators than the experimenter in a single learning environment, but showed a bad performance index than the experimenter in random learning environment. However, in comparing the number of job changes, the learning system showed better results than those of the 4M2T and 10M6T, showing excellent scheduling performance.

Dual Cycle Plan for Efficient Ship Loading and Unloading in Container Terminals (컨테이너 터미널의 효율적인 선적 작업을 위한 Dual Cycle 계획)

  • At container terminals, a major measurement of productivity can be work-efficiency in quay-side. At the apron, containers are loaded onto the ship and unloaded to apron by Q/C(Quay Crane). For improving the productivity of quay crane, the more efficient Y/T(Yard Tractor) operation method is necessary in container terminals. Between quay-side and yard area, current transferring methods is single-cycling which doesn't start loading unless it finishes unloading. Dual-cycling is a technique that can be used to improve the productivity of quay-side and utility of yard tractor by ship loading and unloading simultaneously. Using the dual-cycling at terminals only necessitates an operational change without purchasing extra equipment. Exactly, Y/T operation method has to be changed the dedicate system to pooling system. This paper presents an efficient ship loading and unloading plan in container terminals, which use the dual-cycling. We propose genetic and tabu search algorithm for this problem.

A Model for Integration of Process Planning and Scheduling with Outsourcing in Manufacturing Supply Chain (생산공급사슬에서의 아웃소싱을 고려한 공정계획 및 일정계획의 통합을 위한 모델)

  • An integrated process planning and scheduling model considering outsourcing in manufacturing supply chain is proposed in this paper. The process planning and scheduling considering outsourcing are actually interrelated and should be solved simultaneously. The proposed model considers the alternative process plans for job types, precedence constraints of job operations, due date of production, transportation time and production information for outsourcing. The integrated states include:(1) Operations sequencing, (2) Machine selection, (3) Scheduling with outsourcing under the due date. To solve the model, a heuristic approach based on genetic algorithm(GA) is developed. The proposed approach minimizes the makespan considering outsourcing and shows the best operation-sequences and schedule of all jobs.
