Freight Mode Choice Modelling with Aggregate RP Data and Disaggregate SP Data (집계적 현시선호자료와 비집계적 진술선호자료를 이용한 화물수단선택모형 구축)

  • For accurate demand forecasting of railway logistics, we estimated intercity freight mode choice models based on the binary logit model and using production-consumption data from the Korea Transport Database. We estimated two types of models and compared the results by major item of railway logistics, such as container, cement, and steel: 1) The aggregate freight mode choice models are based on the revealed preference (RP) data and 2) The disaggregate models are based on the stated preference (SP) data. With respect to the container, the travel time variable was found to be statistically significant; however, the travel cost variable was not statistically significant in the RP model, while the travel cost variable was statistically significant in the SP model. For cement and steel, the travel cost variables were statistically significant but the travel time variables were not statistically significant in either the RP or the SP models. These results are inconsistent with results from previous studies based on SP data, which showed that the travel time variables were significant. Consequently, it can be concluded that the travel time factor should be considered in container transport, but that this factor is negligible for cement and steel transport.

  • The study developed physical distribution channel choice models reflecting decision making of the firms and studied how choice decision factors influence selection of distribution channel. The distribution channel survey data in Korea was used to do empirical study. As a choice set, distribution channels were classified into two main choice channels: direct and indirect channels. In addition, indirect channels were classified into other three channels according to the type of intermediate point: distribution center, wholesale store, and agency. This study developed choice models by applying both binary and multinomial logit model with various set of factors. The results showed that the developed logit models seemingly reflect distribution channel choice behaviors. The hypothesis tests on how each factor influences choice of distribution channel were performed and discussed as well.

Influence of Country-of-Origin on American Consumers' Evaluation of Apparel Products Made in Korea (원산지 표시가 미국소비자의 한국산 의류 제품 평가에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 원산지 표시 (country-of-origin)가 미국 소비자의 한국산 의류상품 평가와 제품 이미지 (product image)에 비치는 영향을 고찰하기 위하여 소비자 특성과 원산지 표시의 영향, 의류 상품의 제품이미지와의 관계를 집중 분석하였다. 미국 전역의 성인을 무작위 추출하여 설문지를 우편으로 발송 회수하여 284부의 설문지가 자료분석에 포함되었다. 본 연구 결과에 의하면 미국 소비자들은 한국과 중국, 한국산 의류제품과 중국간 의류제품의 차이를 거의 느끼지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 미국 소비자들은 한국산 의류와 중국산 의류는 모두 저가의 위신성이 낮고 대량 생산되어 부분처리가 떨어지는 평범한 제품이라고 인식라고 있었다. 한국산 의류는 유행색의 사용이나 유행성에서는 많이 뒤떨어지지 않으나, 위신성과 부분처리에서 특히 낮게 평가를 받았다. 라이프스타일, 점포유형에 따른 쇼핑빈도, 성별, 교육정도, 소득수준, 인종에 따른 제품 이미지 의 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났으나, 연령, 결혼여부, 직업에 따른 차이는 유의하였다. 50세 미만의 연령층이 50세 이상치 연령층보다, 결혼한 사람이 걸혼하지 않은 사람보다(독신, 이혼 등) 좀 더 긍정적인 제품이미지를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 다른 직업을 가진 사람들보다는 전업주부의 제품이미지가 더 긍정적이었다. 의류제품이 다주 어떤 제품보다도 한국을 대표하는 상품으로 나타나서, 한국산 의류제품의 이미지 향상은 섬유업계만의 문제가 아니라, 다른 산업계와 정부, 단체가 모두 힘을 모아서 노력하여야 할 과제임을 시사하였다.

A Study on the Change of Beef Consumption and Recognition of Aged Meat (소고기 소비성향 변화와 숙성육 인식에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting change in consumers' consumption tendency and the perception of aged meat. This study compared 2012 and 2019 results from beef consumer surveys. The importance of quality judgment criteria, taste determinants, and the perception that marbling is harmful to health were analyzed using regression analysis through the backward elimination method. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the importance had increased for recognizing freshness, juiciness, tenderness, and ripening period, and for knowing that marbling was harmful to the health. Also shown was that the intention to purchase aged meat had an influence on whether the consumer favorably perceived the freshness, tenderness, and ripening period. This study analyzed how consumers' consumption tendencies changed to cope with these changes in consumer preferences. The basic data of the research analyzed consumption propensity, the intention to consume beef, and what factors influence the perception of mature meat. It is thought that there is a need to raise awareness about aged meat for diversification of consumer preferences and rational production and consumption in the future.

  • 토양수분량과 증발산량은 물 순환과 강우-유출모형의 검증과 개발, 수자원 계획 및 개발, 작물의 소비수량 산정, 수자원의 손실량 산정 등에 다목적으로 이용되는 귀중한 수문자료로서 유역을 대표할 수 있는 적정한 위치에서 정기적으로 측정되어야 자료의 이용성이 크다. 선진 외국에서는 일찌기 자국의 유역특성에 맞는 토양수분량 및 증발산량 관측망을 구축하여 정기적으로 자료를 생산하여 활용하고 있으나, 국내의 경우는 관련기관의 특정 목적에 따라 관측을 수행하고 있을 뿐 유역을 대표할 수 있는 토양수분량 및 증발산량 자료를 생산하고 있지는 않다. 토양수분 및 증발산량은 기상, 유역, 토지피복, 토양, 임상 특성 인자에 따라 그 크기와 특성이 상이하다. 이와 같은 자료의 특성 때문에 토양수분량 및 증발산량 관측망은 반드시 유역의 대표성이 담보될 수 있도록 설계되어야 한다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 토양수분 및 증발산량의 조절인자에 대한 대표성을 반영 할 있는 면적 개념의 관측망을 개념화하여 이를 한강 등 5대 권역에 적용하였다. 토양수분 및 증발산량 관측망 설계 시 필요한 설계인자를 산정하기 위해서 "국가수자원관리종합정보시스템(WAMIS)"의 토지이용 자료를 활용하였으며, 그 결과 산림 66.8%, 논 25.98%, 밭 7.14%로 분석되었다. 산림지를 보다 세분화하였을 때 침엽수림 48.55%, 활엽수림 25.36%, 혼효림 27.09%로 분석되었으며, 이를 중권역수로 구분하면 침엽수림 69개, 활엽수림 21개, 혼효림 13개, 논 8개가 된다. 위의 분석 결과를 토대로 토양수분량 증발산량 관측망을 구축한 결과, 한강 권역은 8개소, 낙동강 권역 8개소, 금강 권역 5개소, 섬진강 권역 2개소, 영산강 권역 2개소의 총 25개소로 구축되었다.

  • Companies often use database for performing task more efficiently and data mining for marketing and production efficiency through analyzing of the stored database. The use of the knowledge through the data mining maintains and provides a direction of development for the company. It could be as an additional competitive power for the company when decision making is necessary. This study is designing a model that predicts a rating of existing customer and consumption pattern with using actual data of the manufacturer and data mining methodology. The objective of this model is to improve profits for the company and brand value through connecting the marketing with identifying the customer's rating and consumer behavior.

A Study on the Effects of Livestock Disease News on the Purchase of Beef and Pork (축산 질병 보도가 소, 돼지고기 구입에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined the effects of livestock disease news, such as foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), collected by the Korea Press Foundation on BIGKinds on the consumption of beef and pork. The consumer purchase data were obtained from the Rural Development Administration's Agrifood consumer panel data. Survival analysis showed that the FMD news noted beef and pork, and the first purchase rate decreased due to FMD news. The time-dependent Cox proportional hazards model revealed all models to be significant. FMD news was significant in each model. In 2010, the Hazard Ratio of domestic and imported pork was 0.999, and the first purchase rate decreased 0.999 times for each additional FMD news item. On the other hand, the Hazard Ratio of pork in 2015 was 1.001, and the first purchase rate increased. In the case of beef, results similar to pork were shown. This study estimated the impact of consumer meat consumption disease news on the first purchases according to origin and meat. These results provide the necessary information for rational production and consumption activities. In addition, it can also be used for promotion by estimating the duration of livestock disease news.

An Analysis of Index for Gentrification occurred in Urban Regeneration Projects (도시재생사업에서 젠트리피케이션 발생 요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to review the Gentrification and Development Index in terms of domestic and foreign gentrification. Based on the important indicators of the Gentrification index through previous research, the four evaluation areas were divided into structure and subject, production and consumption, supply and demand, and capital and culture. Looking at the importance of each area, the production and consumption aspects were highest as the important index of the occurrence of gentrification, followed in order by the supply and demand, the structure and subject, and the capital and culture order. From the detailed factors, the report revealed the changes in sales to structure and subject matter, increases in franchises to production and consumption, rises in rent to supply and demand, and transient population to capital and culture to be important items. In addition, an analysis of the gentrification occurrence indicators in urban regeneration project areas revealed high weight in terms of production and consumption, supply, and demand, including the increased franchises, one-person start-ups, higher rents and higher real estate values. In other words, the occurrence of gentrification in urban regeneration areas produces the largest portion of the increases in franchises and rent. Therefore, step-by-step measures are needed through monitoring.

Manufacturing process and food safety analysis of sous-vide production for small and medium sized manufacturing companies: Focusing on the Korean HMR market (중소규모 생산업체의 수비드 제품 생산을 위한 공정 및 안전성 분석: 한국 HMR 시장 중심으로)

  • The present study identified the restrictions on the use of sous-vide products in the Korean HMR market for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies. A detailed literature review revealed that the HMR market in Korea is close to saturation. Notably, the technologically advanced products produced using sous-vide seem to display significant potential to overcome market saturation. The sous-vide method differs from conventional cooking techniques and is characterized by maintenance of food texture along with flavor enhancement. However, due to the unfamiliarity of the manufacturers with this method and the unclear food safety regulations, mass food manufacturing companies do not agree on using this method; hence, sous-vide production is usually undertaken by small/medium sized companies catering primarily through online marketing portals. This study highlights the various restrictions to the implementation of sous-vide production, and discusses several practical implications of sous-vide production that would help users of this technique enter the HMR market.
