Physiological Study of Silkworm due to Aromatical Plants (방향식물이 누에 생리에 미치는 영향)

  • The results for the investigation of the various aromatic plants applied diets on silkworm raising from spring to autumn crops are found as followings. 1. There was no difference between the chemical menthol solution (1.0%) enriched diet and the normal diet for silkworm physiology. Neither injury nor advantage was obtained from the investigation. 2. It was found that there was no danger to use the mulberry leaves as silkworm diet by planting Mentha arvensis L. in the vacansy of mulberry farm, and no worse effect was found by rubbing the leaves of Mentha arvensis L. to the surface of mulberry leaves before feeding to silkworm. 3. For the investigation due to Perilla Ocymoides var application in stead of menthol plant ascribed in Paragraph (2) was obtained the same result. 4. As a conclusion of the study, the plantation of the both aromatical plants with mulberry trees is harmless for silkworm growing even though farmers worry about these to plant together with mulberry tree on mulberry farm.

  • 연구개는 그 주위조직과 더불어 생리적 기능에 있어 음성, 연하, 및 호흡 등에 중요한 역할을 한다. 종양등의 이유로 인한 연구개의 외과적 절제는 그 해부학적 크기와 모양의 영구적인 변화로 인해 여러기능의 상실을 초래한다. 이에 따른 결함은 과도한 비음, 연하중 음식물이나 유동물의 비관으로의 누출 등을 들 수 있다. 연구개와 그 주위조직의 생리적인 기능의 숙지 및 이를 응용한 보철물(Palatopharyngeal Obturator)의 적절한 제작은 이러한 기능적 결함을 수복하는데 이용되어진다. 본 증례에서는 종양으로 인해 연구개를 절제한 환자의 보철적 수복에 있어, 구강내 온도에 따라 그 형상이 변화하는 인상재를 이용하여, 측-후 인두벽의 운동을 기능적으로 인기하는 방법을 이용하였다. 이러한 방법으로 제작된 보철물은 종양으로 인한 연구개의 절제 후 생리적인 기능의 장애를, 올바른 Palatopharyngeal 폐쇠를 유도함으로써 음질의 향상, 연하등의 기능을 회복시키는데 큰 도움이 될 수 있음을 보여준다.

The Effect of Flexibiltity, Muscle Strength and Electrophysiologic Nature on Ballistic Stretching (탄성적 스트레칭이 근육의 유연성, 근력 및 전기생리학적 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of ballistic stretching techniques on the flexibility, muscle strength and electrophysiologic nature. Methods : The subjects of the study were 20 young adults including 10 for the ballistic-stretching group, and 10 for the control group. This study measured hamstring flexibility, muscle strength, median frequency and root mean square on electromyography signals. All measurements were analyzed using independent sample t-tests. Results : VAS, FPRS, and ODI showed significant pain decrease in all groups except for the ODI measurement in the 0.5㎐ group. There were no significant differences according to frequency levels. Conclusion : It was understood that the effect of stretching was greater when performing ballistic stretching techniques.

Anti-Obesity Effects of Gastrodia elata Extracts on High Fat Diet-Induced Obese Mice (고지방식이 유도 비만 마우스에서 천마 추출물의 항비만 효과)

  • Objectives This study is to investigate the effects and mechanisms of Gastrodia elata extract (GEE) on the high-fat diet-induced obesity model. Methods C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned into 5 groups (n=10). Control group was fed normal diet (ND). Obesity group was fed 60% high fat diet (HFD). The other three groups were fed HFD with 100, 200, 500 mg/kg GEE. After five weeks, body weight, liver and epididymal fat weight, triglyceride concentration in liver and serum, sterol regulatory element-binding protein-1 (SREBP-1), acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), fatty acid synthase, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor 𝛾 (PPAR-𝛾), CCAAT/enhancer binding protein 𝛼 (C/EBP-𝛼) expression level, insulin concentration in serum were measured. Results The GEE (100, 200, and 500 mg/kg)-treated animals exhibited substantial decreases in body mass, liver weight and epididymal white adipose tissue collate to the HFD-fed group. GEE treatment also reduced hepatic and serum triglyceride level. Furthermore, GEE treatment significantly inhibited adipogenesis in the GEE group by reducing the protein expression of SREBP-1, ACC and the messenger RNA expression of PPAR𝛾, C/EBP-𝛼, which are adipocyte differentiation-related genes. Conclusions These research outcomes recommend that GEE is possibly valuable for the prevention of HFD-induced obesity via modification of various pathways related with adipogenesis and adipocyte differentiation.

Design of Models for the Korean Traditional Medicine Research Trend Analysis System (한의학 연구동향 분석시스템 구현을 위한 모형개발)

  • The researchers and planners are using patent/paper map system to analyze the research trend, but we can't use the existing analysis system because of the specialty of korean traditional medicine. Thus we deduced the analysis models from preceding research and system and designed 14 analysis models which are composed of basic, detail and complex models. We verified the analysis models using papers which has 'meridian' keyword among 16,000 papers stored in OASIS. From the analysis result, we know that the meridian study has just entered in the maturity and is closely related with other parts of korean traditional medicine as physiology etc. And we verified the proposed analysis model from the comparison with the analysis models of preceding systems. The analysis model will be used for the development of Korean traditional medicine paper map analysis service scenario and system.

Effects of Fructus Amomi Amari, Eucommiae Cortex, Bombyx Batryticatus Extract on Improving Symptoms of Late-onset Hypogonadism (익지인(益智仁), 두충(杜沖), 백강잠(白殭蠶) 혼합추출물이 남성갱년기 증상 개선에 미치는 영향)

  • In recent times, the number of men with late-onset hypogonadism has increased, and interest on this topic has also increased. This study was conducted to investigate effects of the mixture extract of Fructus amomi Amari, Eucommiae cortex, Bombyx batryticatus on improve late-onset hypogonadism. The experimental subjects consisted of three groups: a control group consisting of 8-week-old male ICR mice that had undergone no treatment, an aging-elicited group (AE group) consisting of 50-week-old ICR male mice that had undergone no treatment, and a Mixed herbal extract treatment group (MT group) consisting of 50-week-old ICR male mice that had undergone the mixture extract of Fructus amomi Amari, Eucommiae cortex, Bombyx batryticatus treatment (0.1 g/kg/day) for 6 months. After the experiment, the mice from all the experimental groups were dissected, and they were analyzed through histochemical and immunohistochemical methods. The mixture extract of Fructus amomi Amari, Eucommiae cortex, Bombyx batryticatus reduces aging-induced cell damage and oxidative stress and increases the secretion of serotonin and B-endorphin in aged mice, and promotes spermatogenesis in seminiferous tubules and reduces apoptosis and oxidative stress, and increases androgen receptor, $17{\beta}-HSD$ and GnRH, increases the ratio of smooth muscle to collagen fibers in the corpus cavernosum, increases eNOS, decreases PDE-5 and oxidative stress in aged mice, so it improves depression, reproductive, sexual problems caused by Late-onset hypogonadism. the mixture extract of Fructus amomi Amari, Eucommiae cortex, Bombyx batryticatus inhibits the induction of osteoporosis by increasing decreased bone matrix distribution due to aging, increasing the activities of OPC and OPN, which are produced in osteoblasts, and decreasing RANKL, MMP-3 activity, increasing OPG activity. It also reduces muscle damage, oxidative stress, inflammation and apoptosis of muscle tissue, and increases Myo-D in the sartorius muscle of aged mice for improving muscle atrophy caused by by Late-onset hypogonadism.

Transplanting Date and Planting Density Affect the Growth Characteristics and Seed Yield of Italian Ryegrass (이앙 시기와 재식 밀도에 따른 이탈리안 라이그라스의 생육 및 종실 수량 특성 평가)

  • Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.; IRG) sowing season is delayed due to the autumn rainy season. Therefore, to address this problem, transplanting date and plant density were investigated. Transplant times investigated were October 20th, October 30th, and November 10th and planting densities were 50, 70, and 80 hills per 3.3 m2. The plant height, leaf area index, and plant coverage rate were high in the following order: October 20th, October 30th, and November 10th. There was no significant difference among planting densities. In addition, the number of tillers and dry weight before and after wintering were high on October 20th. In terms of yield components, the number of tillers, dry weight, and seed yield per unit area were higher with the transplanting date of October 20th than with transplanting on November 10th. There was no difference in seed yield between the planting densities of 80 and 70 hills per 3.3 m2. However, seed yield was low at 50 hills per 3.3 m2. In conclusion, the transplanting time for stable seed production is late October, and optimal plant density is 70 and 80 hills per 3.3 m2. A stable interplanting number before wintering will contribute to the seed yield.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the structure of healing coded through transcriptional activity in the poem of Cho Ji-Hoon in the aspect of literary therapy. In particular, the search for how the codes of emotion are activated through neurophysiologic synapse. The variation of emotional codes developed in Cho Ji-Hoon's poem is in line with the encoding of literary therapy. Emotions emanating from poetic statements stimulate the transition of new emotions and activate emotions of healing. Cho Ji-Hoon's poem fuses emotions through the floods of various poetic transitions. It is then forming an overall healing forest. The healing content is discussed by the structure of transition, and all the structures are linked to the contents of healing. It is a greater part of sad lyricism by the action of descent and ascension, and green aesthetics of the leaves. In the future, if Cho Ji-Hoon's research on poetry is activated, we will be able to meet genuine stories about his natural and literary healing life.

Effects of KCNQ1 S140G Mutation in Human Ventricular Fibrillation Mechanism

  • Iks 칼륨 전류에 관여하는 KCNQ1유전자의 S140G 돌연변이는 심방세동에 영향을 미치는 대표적인 돌연변이 유전자로, 심방세동과 S140G 돌연변이의 상관관계를 밝히기 위한 연구들이 많이 진행되어 왔다. 하지만 S140G 돌연변이 유전자가 심방 세동 환자의 심실 반응에 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 선행연구를 비롯하여 심방과 심실의 활동전위에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 가능성이 있음에도 불구하고, KCNQ1 S140G 돌연변이 유전자의 심실세동에 대한 영향과 그 메커니즘에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 따라서 본 연구는 KCNQ1 S140G 돌연변이 유전자가 심실세동에 미치는 영향에 대한 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 연구를 통해 그 상관관계를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 1차원 세포 모델을 비롯하여 2차원 심실세동 반응과 3차원 전기 생리학 및 기계적 수축 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 3차원의 전기생리학 및 기계적 수축 시뮬레이션에서는 심실의 박출 활동을 확인하기 위한 정상 박동 시뮬레이션과 심실 세동 발생시의 심실의 변화를 확인하기 위한 세동 시뮬레이션을 각각 진행하였다. 그 결과 KCNQ1 S140G 돌연변이로 인해 심실의 Iks가 증가되었으며, 그로 인해 심실의 활동 전위기간(APD)과 불응기(ERP)가 단축되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 활동전위 지속 곡선(APDr)과 불응기 지속 곡선(ERPr)이 완만하게 나타났으며, 심근세포의 전도파장이 감소하였다. 3차원 정상 박동 시뮬레이션의 결과 표준형에서 보다 KCNQ1 S140G 돌연변이형에서 심실이 소모하는 ATP의 양과 박출계수가 감소하였다. 3차원 세동 시뮬레이션 결과 표준형에서는 심실세동이 종결되었으나, S140G 돌연변이 형에서는 심실세동이 종결되지않고 유지되었으며, 심실세동이 빠르게 발생하였다. 결론적으로, KCNQ1 S140G 돌연변이로 인해 증가된 심실의 Iks는 심실의 박출 효율을 감소시키고 심실세동을 발생시키고 유지시키며, 부정맥 발생의 위험성을 높일 수 있다.

  • 스키는 겨울철에 하는 옥외 스포츠로서, 때로는 -30 .deg. C 정도의 저온이나 강풍이 부는 한냉 환경하에서 행하여지는 경우도 있다. 이러한 한냉환경은 신체기능을 저하시켜서 불쾌감을 증가시키므로 의복의 중요성이 더욱 강조된다. 인간과 환경 사이에 놓여 있는 스키웨어는 그 시대의 세련된 패션성이 요구될 뿐만 아니라 운동기능성, 안전성, 내구성 그리고 쾌적성을 구비하지 않으면 안된다. 따라서 환경이 인체에 미치는 영향이나 인간의 생리적 메커니즘을 인식하므로서 비로서 쾌적한 스키웨어를 만들 수 있는 것이다. 다양한 형태의 삶을 추구하는 현대인들의 관심은 점차 여가 시간의 건전한 활용 및 스포츠에 집중 되고 있다. 이러한 사회적인 경향에 발 맞추어 신소재의 스키웨어의 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 예컨데 태양 광선을 흡수하는 세라믹 투입의 신소재의 개발과 체내에서 방출하는 열을 가능한 발산하지 않는, 두 가 지 기능을 합한 축열보온 소재의 스키웨어와 또 탁월한 방수. 방풍의 효과와 운동시 발생되는 수분. 열 배출 을 위한 투습의 능력이 있고 보온의 효과가 매우 높은 힐스포(HEALSPO) 코팅 소재를 사용한 스키웨어도 개발 되고 있다. 그리고 보온성과 심리적 만족감을 위한 원피스, 투피스, 쓰리피스 타입의 디자인 개발도 진행되 고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한냉하 운동시의 축열보온 소재 및 힐스포 소재와 같은 특수소재 스키웨어가 인 체에 미치는 영향을 다른 일반 소재와 비교 고찰하고, 스키웨어의 디자인에 대한 보온성의 효과를 검토하기 위하여, 저온환경에서의 피험자의 온열생리학적 반응을 측정하였다.한 신장/근력 팀의 경우보다 높은 에너지 소비량과 심박수를 보였다.찰한 결과, 세포독성 및 염색체 이상을 유발하지 않았다. 또한 동물약품으로 사용되는 치료용량 및 투약방법에 근거하여 10mg/kg 및 5, 2.5mg/kg을 1일 1회씩 4회 투여한 군에서도 암수에 상관없이 전 농도 군에서 염색체이상을 나타내지 않아 유전독성을 나타내지 않음을 관찰하였다. 특히 vitamin C와 E의 병용투여는 상승적으로 적용하여 간세포손상을 더욱 억제시킴을 알 수 있었다.mance and on TFP(Total Factor Productivity) growth which is a pure measure of firm performance.
