Development of Fast and Exact FFT Algorithm for Cross-Correlation PIV (상호상관 PIV기법을 위한 빠르고 정확한 FFT 알고리듬의 개발)

  • Normalized cross-correlation (correlation coefficient) is a useful measure for pattern matching in PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) analysis. Because it does not have a corresponding simple expression in frequency domain, several fast but inexact measures have been used. Among them, three measures of correlation for PIV analysis and the normalized cross-correlation were evaluated with a sample calculation. The test revealed that all other proposed correlation measures sometimes show inaccurate results, except the normalized cross-correlation. However, correlation coefficient method has a weakpoint that it requires so long time for calculation. To overcome this shortcoming, a fast and exact method for calculating normalized cross-correlation is suggested. It adopts Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) for calculation of covariance and the successive-summing method for the denominator of correlation coefficient. The new algorithm showed that it is really fast and exact in calculating correlation coefficient.

  • 영상 분석을 통하여 하천의 표면유속을 산정하는 표면영상유속계(SIV)는 기존 유속측정 방법들에 비해 간편하고, 효율적이며 짧은 시간에 원하는 영역의 유속장을 산정할 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 하지만 현장 상황에 따라 분석을 위한 변수들을 달리 적용하고 있기 때문에 사용자마다 유속 결과가 달라질 수 있다는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 표면영상유속계의 측정 불확도 산정을 위해 기지의 유속 분포와 추적자 분포를 가진 인공 영상들을 제작하였다. 이 인공 영상들은 입자영상유속계(PIV)의 불확도 분석에 많이 사용되는 표준 PIV 영상과 유사한 것이다. 이 인공 영상을 이용하여 영상의 취득과 처리에 관련된 여러 변수가 최종 유속장에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구된 변수에는 상관창의 크기, 탐색창의 크기, 추적 입자의 농도, 면외 속도와 평균 영상 속도, 두 영상간의 시간 간격이 포함된다. 상호상관법을 이용하여 고정확도의 결과를 얻기 위해, 상관창의 크기는 상관창 안에 포함되는 입자의 수가 충분할 만큼 커야 하며, 추적 입자의 농도가 정확도에 크게 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 상호상관법을 이용하여 정확도 높은 유속측정 결과를 얻기 위해서는 최적 시간간격 또는 평균 영상 유속이 선택되어야 함을 보였다.

  • 탄성파 코다 파는 두 수진기에서 기록된 탄성파 자료의 상호상관으로부터 두 신호에 대한 순간응답을 구하고 이로부터 지층정보를 구하는데 이용된다. 여기에서는 인공합성 탄성파 자료와 가스 하이드레이트 현장자료에 적용하여 상호상관 모음도와 가상음원 모음도 (virtual source)를 구하고자 하였다. 인공합성자료는 해저면 탄성파 탐사법 (ocean bottom seismic)을 모델로 이용하여 인공합성 탄성파 단면도를 제작하였으며, 탄성파 코다 파를 살펴보기 위해 인공 OBS 자료 중 첫 번째 트레이스를 가상음원으로 정하고 모든 음원 모음도와 상호상관으로 가상응원 단면도를 제작하였다. 현장자료 적용으로는 해저면 기인 고진폭 반사파인 BSR (bottom simulating reflection)을 포함하고 있는 자료를 선정하여 상호상관 단면도와 가상음원 단면도를 제작하였다. 중합단면도상에 나타난 가스 분출지역은 상호상관 단면도에서도 나타났으며, 중합단면도상 BSR부분은 vs 단면도에서 강한 반사파를 보여줌을 알 수 있었다.

A Study on Measurement of Premixed Spray Flame using Cross-correlation PIV (상호상관 PIV를 이용한 예혼합 분무화염의 계측에 관한 연구)

  • In an attempt to elucidate combustion mechanism or premixed spray flame in detail, both the enlarged photographing, which was performed for spray cross-sectional images of premixed spray flame, and the cross-correlation PIV, which was performed for consecutive time-series images to obtain instantaneous two dimensional flow field, were applied. This study indicated that CW laser as well as pulse laser could be applied for PIV. Furthermore, the results of cross-correlation PIV, which was self-made PIV program, was shown in good agreement with those of PDA. Therefore, it was verified that cross-correlation PIV using CW laser in this study could be effectively used for observing structure of premixed spray flame.

  • Estimating the mutual time delay between two acoustic sensors is used in various fields such as tracking and estimating the location of a target in room acoustics and sonar. In the time delay estimation methods, there are a non-parametric method, such as Generalized Cross Correlation (GCC), and a parametric method based on system identification. In this paper, we propose a time delay estimation method based on the parametric method. In particular, we propose a method that considers the noise in each receiving acoustic sensor. Simulation confirms that the proposed algorithm is superior to the existing generalized cross-correlation and adaptive eigenvalue analysis methods in white noise and reverberation environments.

  • Time delay estimation between two acoustic sensors is widely used in room acoustics and sonar for target position estimation, tracking and synchronization. A cross-correlation based method is representative for the time delay estimation. However, this method does not have enough consideration for the noise added to the receiving acoustic sensors. This paper proposes a new time delay estimation method considering the added noise on the receiver acoustic sensors. From comparing with the existing GCC (Generalized Cross Correlation) method, and adaptive eigen decomposition method, we show that the proposed method outperforms other methods for a colored signal source in the white Gaussian noise condition.

Study on the Measurements of Architectural Acoustie by Cross-Correlation Methods (상호상관법에 의한 건축음향측정에 관한 연구)

  • A method of measuring impulse response of acoustic system, two kinds of cross-correlation methods (the direct correlation method and the M-sequence modulation correlation method) were applied. According to the direct correlation method, by using stationary random noise source and by calculating the cross-correlation function between the sourece and the output signal, equivalent impulse response can be obtained not being influenced by the back ground noises. By applying this method, the measurement of echo-time patterns in rooms and oblique incident sound absorption characteristics of sound absorbing materials was carried out. In the case of the M-sequence modulation correlation method which was contrived by Aoshima, an intermittent random nosie modulated by M-sequence signal is used as the source signal, and the cross-correlation function between the M-sequence signal and the squared output signal is calculated. According to this method, equivalent energy impulse response (squared impulse response) of te propagation system can be obtained without being influenced by the back ground noises and the air fluctuation caused by wind. As the applcaition of this measuring method to the architectural acoustics, the meaurements of echo-time patterns, reverberation decays and sound pressure lev디 distributions in rooms and sound insulation efficiencies in buildings were carried out. From these experimental studies, it has been found that this M-sequence modulation correlation method is markedly useful especially for the field masurement of sound insulation under high back ground noise condition.

대형 내진시험 구조물에 대한 강제진동시험 결과의 예측 및 예측후상관해석

  • 지반-구조물 상호작용해석에 부분구조법의 적용성 확인과 해석법의 개선을 모색하기 위하여, 대만 Hualien지방에 건설한 대형 내진시험 구조물의 뒷채움후 강제진동시험 결과를 부분구조법으로 예측하고 예측후상관해석을 수행하였다. 모델로서는 재료시험과 지반조사 결과로 작성된 통일모델과 예측후상관해석모델을 사용하였으며, 해석은 진동 수영역과 시간영역에서 각각 이루어졌다 연구 결과로 깊이 묻힌 구조물의 경우는 구조물이 묻힌 측면지반의 영향인 수평병진과 수평축회전의 연계 임피던스함수에 대한 적절한 평가와 해석시에 반드시 고려되어야함을 알 수 있었다.

  • There are many ultrasonic measurement methods that are used in nondestructive testing applications. Some typical applications include material property determination, microstructural characterization. and flaw detection. Ultrasonic parameters such as velocity and attenuation are most commonly required in these applications. The accuracy and repeatability of testing results are dependent on both the hardware used to generate and receive the ultrasonic waves and on the analysis software for calculating these parameters. In this study, five analysis algorithms were implemented on a computer for measuring wave speed in a pulse echo. immersion testing configuration. In velocity measurements comparisons were made between the overlap. cross-correlation. Fourier transform. Hilbert transform, wavelet transform algorithms. Velocity measurement was applied to an isotropic steel sample using the five analysis algorithms. Frequency-dependent phase/group velocity and attenuation were also measured using the Fourier transform and wavelet transform algorithms on a composite laminate containing voids.

  • A analysis on the spatial features is required for exploratory spatial data analysis of information about space location(population ecological factor, social ecological factor) to manage the store factors, the service industry, etc. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide correlation analysis method between the types of service trade using dependence between spatial objects on the geographical space and statistical correlation and to analyze the spatial features through the deduction of correlation analysis between the types of the neighborhood trade area.
