Reading the Landscape through the Perception of Residents of Banwol and Bakji Island - Based on the Change before and after the Purple Island - (반월·박지도 주민의 인식과 태도를 통해 경관 읽기 - 퍼플섬(Purple Islands) 사업 전후의 변화를 중심으로 -)

  • As of 2019, for the 'Island I Want to Visit' project, Banwol and Bakji Islands, located in Shinan-gun, started color marketing to create a tourist attraction by painting roofs, buildings, and facilities purple. As this landscape change was evaluated as a 'dangerous but beautiful attempt,' it was recognized as the 'World's Best Tourism Village' in 2021, drawing attention from domestic and foreign tourists. However, the residents of the islands, who created and enjoy the benefits of the landscape, were alienated from the planning stage. This study investigated the meanings and symbols of residents' perceptions of the purple landscape. The cultural landscape frame of new cultural geography, which interprets the landscape's symbolic meaning and ideological signs, was utilized. In addition, a holistic approach was applied to understand the residents' perceptions of the multi-layered environment. Therefore, the perception of purple, the main color of the islands, the overall landscape and individual places, and the general perception of the Purple Island project were investigated. After the Purple Islands Project, the main senses for recognizing the villages focused on sight, and the residents were satisfied with the purple landscape as it improved the underdeveloped village environment. This satisfaction was based on lessening the negative memories experienced as an island rather than a value judgment on the purple color. In addition, the perception of the symbolic landscape, which has a social and universal system, has been subdivided and reorganized, including for tourism functions. It can be understood as an aspect of the spectacle landscape that appears in cosmopolitanism. However, in the process of transforming into a tourist attraction, it was discovered that the residents recognize the value of local resources and create a new cultural landscape. In addition, the perception of the relationship between Banwol and Bakji has also changed around tourism.

  • Keiji Kobo is a unique self-generated design research group in Japan, which was founded in 1928 when Bauhaus movement was in its peak, and which lasted ten years until the end of the Second World War, when any activity of the group became virtually impossible due to the war. With insight to see the future, the group aimed at Modern Design advocating a new spirit in architecture, and played a significant role in prosperity of Japanese Modern Design assimilating Western design trends. Pursuing of craft works for everyday life--practical furniture works--Keiji Kobo actively executed various projects to realize modern philosophy. The range of the works of this group was very large: survey, mock-up, experiment, research, exhibition, lecture, order-based sale, advertising and writing. The works of the group were oriented to serious academicism, not compromising with commercialism. Considering the peculiar political situation such as Japanese Militarism, the spirit of functionalism that the group pursued was surprisingly academical and pure. This group was relatively small and clumsy, which lasted as short as around ten years. However, strong motivation was in their seemingly quiet movements, and the influence of the group cannot be underestimated even with today's criteria. There were a number of pioneers who contributed to today's prosperity of Japan and Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be one of the pioneers in the field of design. It was found that the contemporary intellectuals hoped that the committment and activity of the group would contribute to modernization of the life quality of ordinary people. In a sense, Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be a little Japanese equivalent for Bauhaus that could not fully bloom.

  • 조선조 세종대는 천문과학기술의 전성기였다. 세종 자신도 천문학에 밝았던 데다 유교적 정치이념을 구현하기 위한 국책 사업의 성격이 강했기 때문에 조선조의 천문학은 세계적 수준으로 발돋움하였다. 이것은 고려시대부터 축적된 천문과학기술과 창조적 재능을 지닌 많은 과학기술자들이 있었기 때문에 가능했다. 1432년 세종이 천문의기 제작을 명한 지 6년만인 1438년에 각종 관측기기를 완비한 천문대인 간의대가 완성되었다. 당대로서는 세계 최대 규모로 인정받고 있는 거대한 종합 천문대인 간의대의 주변에는 혼천의, 혼상, 규표 등 다양한 천문 관측기기를 설치하였다. 규표로는 24기를 정밀하게 측정할 수 있었고, 각종 해시계로는 한양의 정확한 시간을 잴 수 있었다. 해와 별을 관측하여 낮과 밤의 시간을 측정하는 일성정시의와 천체 관측기기인 소간의 등 다양한 관측의기들이 독창적으로 창제되었다. 아쉽게도 세종대에 제작한 천문의기들 가운데 현존하는 유물은 한 점도 남아 있지 않다. 당시 천문유물은 사라져버렸지만 문헌을 통해 세종시대 각종 천문 관측의기의 복원 연구를 통해 설계와 복원을 수행하였다. 천문의기 복원(復元)은 모형(模型)을 만드는 것이 아니므로 자재와 공법들은 전통적인 방식으로 제작하여야 한다. 각 부품들이 계시기(計時器)로서 정확히 작동하도록 복원하려면 정교하게 제작하여야만 한다. 뿐만 아니라 천문의기들은 왕궁(王宮)에서 사용한 것으로 외형적으로 왕권을 상징하는 용(龍)의 형상과 화려한 문양으로 장식되어 있기 때문에 복원 과정에서 예술적인 면도 신중히 고려하여야 한다. 여기서는 지금까지 복원한 조선의 각종 천문의기의 구조와 기능 및 복원 과정의 주요 내용을 소개하고자 한다.

  • A purpose of this study, after identifying the status and type of changes derived elements that make up the Seowon(書院); landscape space and the space of the during the recent World Heritage, focusing promote the newly introduced trees listed in the important value, authenticity and integrity aspects The results can be summarized as follows. The results can be summarized as follows. Appeared trees in various old documents are 10 species; Prunus persica (L.) Batsch, Prunus mume(Siebold) Siebold & Zucc., Salix koreensis Andersson. The planting space shows regularity of some degree depends on the status of the species, essentially 3 types of Juniperus chinensis L., Lagerstroemia indica L., Phyllostachys nigra(Lodd.) Munro are primarily located in inside of seowon(書院), Zelkova serrata (Thunb.) Makino., Salix koreensis Andersson is in out side of seowon(書院). 5 types of location space to species such as Juniperus chinensis L., Ginkgo biloba L. species are the most frequently appear and it can be national representative trees. Plants which have limited vitality is a factor to prove a history of seowon(書院), it is accord with authenticity aspects that it gives meaning of symbolic to canonized figure's preference Maintenance work carried out over the years has damaged to origin of tree and thoughtlessly planted without having to go through a thorough historical research has resulted in weakening the presence of the essential space. It should preserve to features originally it have is figure reflect the viewpoint of the transformed current private to reveal the history of the various places. In conclusion, this research continues to study at the spatial dimension like a building in limited to panted, and also determine the intrinsic value of the overall spatial configuration.

  • Busan Metropolitan City lacks leisure-oriented spaces for children compared to other cities. Furthermore, it is difficult to maintain the amusement facilities for children scattered around the city due to the fact that they were worn out. To set up a leisure-oriented park for children on the site for children amusement facilities, the present study is concerned about planning children amusement facilities for public use compatible with the new trend for children amusement facilities. For this purpose, a number of case studies, carried out domestic and abroad on developing children amusement facilities, were examined to choose appropriate facilities and feasible project plans were drawn up. Major findings of the study are as follows. First, it is strongly suggested that this project should be promoted because it is a leading pilot project for building children theme parks for each zone in Busan Metropolitan City. Second, it is suggested that field study programs should be run in connection with Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education.

That is, advanced technologies, information, and richness from materials which are diversity for coming a extention of choice. currently, food packaging design shouldn't have stayed on just packaging which cover beautiful. Packaging design is a symbolic sign. It is importance for manager to do R&D, producing, and distribution, also for consumer who use and buy the product whether manager and consumer think package design is a main mediation. This day, food design pay attention to be asking consumer's a number of sensitivity. It is the reason that the package is importance and exist. This article is to examine preservability, delivery, subdivision, aesthetic, serviceability, and environmental orientation in order to develop and show a method and theories to find package design in food industry the reason that why sales promotion and its profit increase. Consequently, draw on the function of package design effects the benefit on product is distribution. Green Design on the food packages by combining recycled and biodegradable food packages for the development of practices and long life to the look of the food package design practices.

Moderating Effects of Chemyon(Social Face) and Consumption Situation in the Relationship between Self-Presentation and Brand Preference (자기제시와 브랜드 선호도의 관계에서 체면민감성과 사용상황의 조절효과)

  • This paper tried to investigate the moderating effect of chemyon sensitivity and usage situation in the relationship between self-presentation and brand preference. Data were collected from students of universities located in Chungnam. The analysis results can be summarized as follows. First of all, the effect of self-presentation on symbolic brand preference was not significant in both public and private use situations. On the other hand, the effect of self-presentation on functional brand preference was found to be significant in both situations. Second, the main effect of chemyon sensitivity was significant only when it had a negative effect on functional brand preference in public situations, but was not significant in other cases. Third, looking at the interaction effect of self-presentation and chemyon sensitivity, the brand preference did not show significant changes in those with relatively low chemyon sensitivity, regardless of the level of self-presentation, whether in public or private situations. This study is meaningful in that it reveals that chemyon sensitivity affects brand preference through interaction with self-presentation, whether the consumption situation is public or private.

  • The more the need for coastal leisure and sports and the expansion of marina, the more the need for the studies about marina. But little research has been done from the point of coastal tourism. The purpose of this study is to recognize marina as a kind of tourist attraction and analyze the effect of marina landscape design to images. The findings of results suggested that perceived images were significant to the functionality of landscape design, however, emotional images were partly significant to the symbolicity of landscape design. This study will contribute to establish the landscape regulations about marina in the central and local government.
