Drift and Distribution Properties of Pesticide Spray Solution Applied Aerially by manned-Helicopter (헬기를 이용한 항공살포 농약의 비산 및 분포 특성)

  • This study was carried out to assess adoptability and environment impacts of ultra low volume (ULV) pesticide spray solutions aerially sprayed by manned-helicopter. Uniformity of the deposited amount in paddy fields was uneven, showing $3.1{\sim}4.7$ times differences among surveyed sites. Drifting distance of aerially sprayed droplets from the target area was within 30 m in the wind direction and 20 m in the opposite direction. Most of the aerially sprayed pesticides were deposited in/on rice plants, while those in submerged paddy water and soil were relatively small. The degradation rate of the deposited pesticides was in the decreasing order of rice plants, paddy water and soil. Soil residues of pesticides in the aerially sprayed rice paddy fields after harvest ranged from non-detected to 0.201 mg/kg. However, no pesticides were detected in brown rice and rice straw. No phytotoxic symtoms were observed in rice plants and nearby non-target crops by the sprayed pesticides.

Control of Powdery Mildew on Solanaceous Crops by Using COY (Cooking Oil and Yolk Mixture) in the Greenhouse (난황유를 이용한 가지과 작물의 흰가루병 방제)

  • Cooking oil and yolk mixture (COY), a environmentally acceptable plant protection agent, and COY+$CaCO_3$+neem oil mixture were studied to control the powdery mildew occurring on eggplant, paprika, cherry tomato and maturity tomato in glass houses and vinyl houses during 2005 to 2007. The morphological changes of the pathogenic fungi on the leaf surface before and after treatment of COY were observed. COY made of rape seed oil and COY+$CaCO_3$+neem oil mixture were sprayed three times with 5 days interval to foliar parts of eggplant, paprika and tomato and the disease development were examined 5 days after final spray. In eggplant, the control efficacy of COY to powdery mildew was 94.6%. In paprika, the control efficacy of COY to powdery mildew was 91.6% and that of COY+$CaCO_3$+neem oil mixture was 96.2% that revealed little higher than COY itself. In tomatoes(cherry or maturity tomato), the control efficacy of COY were about 91 %, however, when COY mixture were sprayed to tomato leaves and stems the powdery mildew was controlled completely. Typical and healthy mycelia, conidiophores and condia were observed through scanning electron microscope in COY unsprayed leaf surface, on the other hand destroyed and winkled mycelia and conidiophores were observed in COY treated leaves regardless host plants nor taxonomic differences of fungi.

Dissipation Pattern of Amisulbrom in Cucumber under Greenhouse Condition for Establishing Pre-harvest Residue Limit (생산단계 잔류허용 기준 설정을 위한 시설 재배 오이 중 살균제 Amisulbrom의 잔류특성 연구)

  • The dissipation patterns of amisulbrom in cucumber under a greenhouse condition was investigated to establish biological half-life and pre-harvest residue limit (PHRL). Amisulbrom residue in/on cucumber on the day of application under standard application condition was $0.15mg\;kg^{-1}$ and decreased to $0.06mg\;kg^{-1}$ after 5 days after treatment, so that biological half-life calculated 3.6 day, while initial concentration of amisulbrom twice application 3 days interval under standard application condition was $0.35mg\;kg^{-1}$ and decreased to $0.09mg\;kg^{-1}$ after same period and the biological half-life calculated 2.4 day. PHRL was suggested by prediction curve calculated from the decay constant of amisulbrom at standard rate. For example, $1.83mg\;kg^{-1}$ at 5 days before harvest and $1.03mg\;kg^{-1}$ at 2 days before harvest were suggested.

  • Leaf-spray in vitro bioassays appraise new aphicidal formulations for managing deleterious plant-feeding aphids. The formulation may utilize alternative and integrated strategies. However, leaf spraying even under controlled conditions may affect aphid reproduction and mortality. This study examines leaf spray applications for optimum and reproducible aphicidal results using tobacco leaves overlaid on cotton fabric or water agar surfaces. Infestation of the undersides of tobacco leaves with nymphs of green peach aphids was used in the assays. Spray distance and volume were optimized using water-sensitive paper to ascertain the best surface coverage. Overlays of the leaves on water agar caused less mortality and greater reproduction than the use of cotton fabric. The relative humidity of the insect-rearing chambers changed with the watering regime for the insect - rearing chambers with cotton fabric; 60% relative humidity was optimal. Relative humidity was not affected by the concentration of agar in the water agar chambers. Applications of the chemical aphicidal standard, Sulfoxaflor, under the optimized conditions exhibited similar times for lethality although the rate was faster with leaves on the cotton fabric than on water agar. These studies establish reproducible and sensitive techniques for assessing the lethality and effects on reproduction of potential aphicidal products.

유류오염토양의 화학적 고도산화 현장적용기술 개발

  • 유류 오염토양에 대한 과산화수소의 화학적 고도산화에 대한 실험실 및 현장 적용 가능성을 타진하였다. 현장 오염토양 10g에 각각 과산화수소(34.5%) 원액을 중량비로 0.3%, 0.6%, 1.0%, 2.0%를 처리하여 혼합 후 실험실에서 1일 반응 후 TPH 농도를 분석하였다. 분석결과 토양 대비 2.0%의 과산화수소를 투입한 처리구에서 가장 높은 복원 효율을 측정할 수 있었고 2.0%까지의 투입농도에서 미생물의 농도 변화는 측정되지 않았다. 오염된 토양에 과산화수소를 오염 토양 중량 대비 2%를 분무기로 살포 후 로타리가 설치된 경작 장비로 뒤집기 수행하여 1일 후 오염토양의 오염농도를 분석한 결과 초기 TPH 5,365ppm의 농도가 2,317ppm으로 56.8% 복원된 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Chemical Control of the Pine Gall Midge (Thecodiplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye) (II). ULV Foliar Spray of the Insecticides (솔잎혹파리의 약제방제에 관한 연구 II. ULV 엽면살포)

  • Some insecticides were evaluated on the effect of single ULV foliar spray in the control of the pine gall midges (Thecediplosis japonensis Uchida et Inouye) when the formulated (undiluted) and/or diluted insecticides were applied by ULV Sprayer (Battery-type of 12 voltage, devised by Union Carbide) With the formulated insecticide spray (30ml per plot; ten pine trees of 1.5 to 2m in height), the order of control effectiveness was Salithion (Ec 25), $Sumithion^{(R)}$ (ULV 80), Dimethoate (Ec 50), $Sevin\;oil^{(R)}$ (ULV 50), $Zolone^{(R)}$ (Ec 25) and $Folimat^{(R)}$ (Ec 50). However, except Zolone, other insecticides tested caused relatively severe phytotoxicity on the pine needles in all treatments. The dilluted insecticides (200ml Per Plot) of Salithion and Dimethoate with 10,20 and 40 times of water solution showed better control effect than with the formulated insecticides, and no phytotoxicity was observed. Salithion was more effective than Dimethoate. In conclusion, the desirable results in the pine gall midge control in this experiment were obtained by single ULV foliar spray of Salithion with 10 to 20 times of water solution, and the feasible timing of insecticide application would be from late in May to early in June.

CODEX 유기농업허용 살충비누 제조와 진딧물 방제연구

  • 지방산을 이용한 살충비누의 제조와 이를 이용한 해충의 환경친화적 방제연구를 수행하였고 그 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 각 지방산의 중화가(Acid value)를 기준으로 비누화에 필요한 수산화칼륨의 투입량을 결정할 수 있었으며, 야자지방산의 경우 중화가가 266.3mg KOH/g으로 지방산 1kg당 수산화칼륨 266g이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 2. 25%의 비누 함량이 되게 제조하기 위해서 지방산별 반응식을 조사하였고, 이에 따라 물의 첨가량을 결정할 수 있었으며, 야자지방산을 이용한 25% 살충비누의 제조에는 지방산 1kg에 수산화칼륨 266g과 물 3.459 ${\ell}$ 가 소요되고 제조된 비누액은 4.644 ${\ell}$인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 사용하는 물은 연수를 이용하여야 하였다. 3. 25% 제조된 살충비누의 물성을 조사한 결과 젤리상의 올레인산 비누를 제외하고는 점도가 낮은 액상이었으며, 산도는 알카리성으로 25% 야자지방산의 경우 pH 9이상으로 나타났다. 또한 50% 이상 고농도의 살충비누를 제조하면 냉각 후 젤리상태가 되어 희석하여 이용하는데 불편하였다. 4. 살충비누 제조공정의 요인으로 반응온도는 중탕방식으로 90$^{\circ}C$이상, 교반속도는 60 ${\sim}$ 120 rpm. 반응시간은 30분 이상이 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 5. 살충비누제조 공정은 중탕, 교반 가능한 반응기를 활용하여 (1) 수산화칼륨 수용액 제조 및 가온(90$^{\circ}C$) (2) 지방산 투입 (3) 30분이상 교반 반응 (4) 냉각을 통해 제조할 수 있었다. 6. 고추진딧물의 포장 방제가 조사시험결과 모든 지방산에서 살충효과를 나타냈으며, 지방산의 탄소수가 낮을수록, 살포 농도가 높을수록, 살포회수가 증가할수록 방제가가 높은 경향이었다. 7. 25% 야자지방산의 경우 50배에서 5일간격 2회처리 후부터 고추에 발생하는 진딧물에 대한 방제가가 92%이상이 되었으며, 100배액에서는 5일간격 3회처리 후부터 94%의 방제가를 나타내었다. 8. 양배추의 복숭아진딧물에 대한 25% 야자지방산 살충비누 50배액의 살포결과 1회 처리후 95%이상, 2회 처리후 100%에 가까운 방제가를 나타냈다. 9. 강낭콩의 점박이응애에 대한 25% 야자지방산 살충비누 50배액, 100배액 살포결과 2회처리 후부터 거의 100%에 가까운 방제효과를 보였으며, 알에 대한 부화억제효과도 인정되었다. 10. 효과증진제 첨가 실험결과 이소프로필알콜 0.1%이상 첨가 살포에서 2회처리시에 약간의 살충력 증진 효과를 보였으며, 규조토 첨가는 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 11. 노지재배 고추의 약해검정결과 25%카프릴산비누 50배액을 제외하고는 약해가 발생하지 않았으며, 25% 카프론산 비누의 100배액은 고추 유묘기에 약해를 나타내었다. 양배추에서는 25% 카프릴산 비누 100배액에서 약해를 보였으나, 25% 야자지방산의 경우 50 ${\sim}$ 100배액 어디에서도 액해를 보이지 않았다. 별도로 적용한 시험에서, 토마토의 경우에도 25% 야자지방산 비누 50 ${\sim}$ 100배액 모두 약해를 발생하지 않았으나, 오이에서는 25% 야자지방산 비누 100배액에도 약해를 나타내었다. 12. 이상의 결과, 천연지방산을 이용하여 유기농업에 허용되는 각종의 살충비누를 제조할 수 있었으며, 방제가 조사결과 진딧물, 응애 등 껍질이 연약한 곤충의 방제에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 제조된 살충비누를 활용하면 환경친화적인 해충방제가 가능하다고 판단되었다.

Evaluation of Ammonia Emission from Arable Soil applied Liquid Manure and Compost (가축분 퇴.액비 시용에 따른 암모니아 휘산량 평가)

  • Emission of ammonia to the atmosphere are considered a threat to the environment. The application of livestock manure and compost contributes significantly to the emission of ammonia from agriculture. The reduction in NH3 losses from field-applied manure and compost would be a good strategy to reduce national $NH_3$ emission. In this study, various application techniques of liquid manure and compost were compared to evaluate their potential for reducing $NH_3$ emission. In compost application, the reductions in $NH_3$ emission were 70 and 15% for immediately rotary after application (IRA) and rotary at 3-day after application (RA-3d) in comparison with surface application (SA). Total ammonia emissions for 13 days, expressed as % ammonia-N applied in compost, were 42, 35.7, and 12.7% for SA, RA-3d, and IRA treatments, respectively. Mean reductions in NH3 emission from application of liquid pig manure were 26 and 50% for rotary harrow after surface broadcast application in spring and fall, respectively, in comparison with surface broadcast application. Ammonia emission rate was decreased with increasing water content in soil due to dilution effect, but this reduction only was temporary up to 12 hours after application and cumulative $NH_3$ emission was increased with increasing water content in soil. However, the delay would be beneficial because it allows time for rotary hallow of the applied liquid pig manure. Therefor, ammonia emission can be reduced by immediately incorporation of liquid manure and compost after surface application.

Effects of Petroleum Spray Oil on Photosynthesis Characteristics in Citrus Leaves (Petroleum Spray Oil 살포가 감귤 잎의 광합성관련 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, petroleum spray oil(PSO) has been used to control key pests in integrated pest management (IPM) of citrus and other orchards in Australia and USA. In order to clarify the influences of a newly developed PSO (D-C Tron $Plus^{(R)}$) on citrus leaves, 0.33% or 1.0% of PSO were sprayed to potted 4-year-old citrus trees under some kinds of condition, and then the changes of photosynthesis, transpiration, stomatal conductance and chlorophyll fluorescence(Fv/Fm) were determined. When sprayed with 1.0% PSO, the photosynthetic rate, transpiration and stomatal conductance of citrus leaves were decreased by 20%, and then recovered in 20 days after treatment (DAT), while there were little influences by the spray of 0.33% PSO. The value of Fv/Fm decreased more under the $34/24^{\circ}C$ temperature condition than that of under the $30/20^{\circ}C$ and $28/16^{\circ}C$ condition. The high temperature ($50^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours)-treated trees sprayed with PSO 1.0% or PSO 1.0% plus dithianon 1/2000 dilution showed not only the increase of rate in dropped leaf but also the reduced photosynthesis and Fv/Fm compared with $30/20^{\circ}C$ temperature-treated ones. From the results of this study, the spray of 1.0% PSO can inhibit the physiological activities in citrus leaf, particularly under high temperature condition after spray or the mixing-spray with a fungicide (dithianon WP, 75%).
