  • This study aims to prevent maternal social isolation by analyzing the causes of postpartum obesity and postpartum depression and stress in Korea. Gneral characteristics of mothers as a result of the study: 91.1% (102 people) answered that they had social experience, and only 8% (9 people) answered that they had no social experience. In the question of whether to return to society, 17.9% responded that they have already returned, 54.5% did not, and 18.8% were on maternity leave. As a result of examining the level of BMI increase among mothers through chi-square test of BMI changes before and after childbirth and general characteristics, 55% experienced below-average BMI increase; 45% experienced above-average BMI increase. Those in their 30s accounted for 40.2%, and those in their 40s accounted for 57.1%. Postpartum obesity and maternal psychological status (t-test): Mothers with postpartum obesity were more hypersensitive (t = -1.997, p = 0.048) and more prone to suffer from hard breathing (t = -1.930, p = 0.056), emptiness (t = -2.673, p = 0.010), and body numbness (t = -2.315, p = 0.024) than mothers who are not suffering from not postpartum obesity. Per the results of postpartum BMI increase and maternal psychological state (t-test) analysis, mothers with an average increase in postpartum BMI were more depressed than mothers who did not. Research Results - Postpartum obesity due to pregnancy and childbirth has been identified as an important individual cause affecting mental and physical problems after childbirth. In conclusion, I also think that the government should support the management of maternal obesity and the elimination of depression through the results of this study.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze how the ten-week complex exercise program for obese postpartum women affects their metabolic syndrome related risk factors (HDL-C, TG, Glucose, blood pressure, and waist circumference) and adipocytokines (Leptin and Adiponectin). The study subjects were 14 women who passed less than 40 months after their child birth, among whom seven were assigned to complex exercise group and seven to control group. The complex exercise program consists of rhythm dance aerobic exercise and resistance exercise. It has been performed twice a week for 10 weeks, and 80 minutes for each session. For data analysis, Mann Whitney U-test, Wilcoxon test, Spearman correlation analysis were conducted. As a result, the groups had no difference in all of the metabolic syndrome related risk factors before and after the program. Regarding intra-group difference, the complex exercise group significantly increased HDL-C, and significantly decreased TG, Glucose, and waist circumference, and the control group signfiicantly increased TG and Glucose. According to the analysis on adipocytokines, in terms of intra-group difference, the complex exercise group significantly increased Adiponectin after exercise. With regard to the correlations between metabolic syndrome related risk factors and adipocytokines, HDL-C and Glucose had a correlation with Adiponectin.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of pregnant women's taking of probiotics and pilates exercise on Postnatal women's body composition, gut-microbiota, obesity hormones, blood lipid, inflammatory cytokine. Overall clinical trial procedures are as follows. First, a total of 15 pregnant women were classified into 3 groups, probiotics intake+exercise group(PEX, n=5), exercise group(EX, n=5), and control group(CON, n=5). The PEX and EX groups participated in the pilates exercise twice a week for eight weeks, with 10 min for warm-up, 30 min for main exercise and 10 min for cool-dawn. The probiotics had to take one capsule a day on its empty stomach every day. The results showed that intestinal harmful bacteria were inhibited after childbirth in PEX group, and body fat, WHR reduction. There were also positive effects on the decrease of leptin hormone in PEX group and on IL-6, TNF-a levels. The caesarean section ratio of CON group compared to PEX and EX group was found to be high. Conclusion pregnant women's probiotics intake and pilates exercise will be effective in women's abdominal fat reduction after childbirth, and will have positive effects on inflammatory levels and appetite control hormones, which will be effective in preventing and treating obesity for after childbirth.
