  • The propulsion system of space launch vehicle generates thrust by supplying oxidizer and fuel to combustion chamber. KSLV-II 2nd stage engine, currently under development by KARI, is to use liquid oxygen as a oxidizer and JET-A1 as a fuel. The 2nd stage pump-fed engine is mainly composed of combustion chamber, turbo-pump and engine supply system. To develop liquid propulsion engine, the development of combustion chamber must be preceded. For performance validation of the combustion chamber, the designed and manufactured combustion chamber should be tested in combustion chamber test facility (CCTF). The detailed design for the planned CCTF in Naro Space Center was conducted. The oxidizer supply system modeling using AMESim was performed based on the results of the detailed design, and the oxidizer supply characteristics was analyzed in this paper.

Effect of Influent COD Fraction on Nitritation from Wastewater and Piggery wastewater (유입수 유기물 성상이 반류수와 가축분뇨 아질산화 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • BNR process is an effective method to remove high strength nitrogen included in wastewater and piggery wastewater. There have been many former studies about the induction of nitritation which have many advantages than full nitrification and the impacting factors on nitritation. Especially, it is reported that organic matter has a relation with nitritation. In this study, laboratory sacle reactor was operated using effluent of anaerobic digester, piggery wastewater and anaerobic digester effluent of piggery wastewater. After analyzing the operating results, the impact of organic matter on nitritation was analyzed by classified COD fractions. It was showed that nitritation is affected by organic matter especially by Ss. In conclusion, organic matter should be managed not just as a single gross parameter but in a classified form.

Antioxidant Activities of Prunus salicina Lind cv. Soldam (Plum) at Different Growth Stages (생육 시기에 따른 피자두(Prunus salicina Lindl. cv. Soldam)의 항산화 효과)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the antioxidant effect of Prunus salicina Lindl. cv. Soldam at different growth stages (sample 1-8). Previous studies shows that this fruits possess hematopoiesis effect, osteoporosis prevention, and antimutagenic effects. Prunus salicina Lindl. cv. soldam was picked in every 5 days from the 40th day before harvesting date for marketing in Gimcheon, Gyeongbuk. The fruits at different growth stages (sample 1-8) were extracted with 60$\%$ acetone and chlorophyll in the extracts was removed. In proximate compositions, the contents of moisture of sample 1, 5, 8 were 88.52, 87.01, 83.56$\%$ ; crude ash were 7.12, 3.35, 3.57$\%$ ; crude protein were 7.52, 5.55, 3.85$\%$ ; crude fat contents were 3.20, 0.99, 5.15$\%$, respectively. The contents of total polyphenols and condensed tannin in the acetone extracts from sample 1, 5, 8 were 10.67, 4.05, 2.57$\%$, and 8.36, 3.11, 1.88$\%$, respectively. The antioxidantive effect of acetone extracts from immature fruits showed strong scavenging effect on DPPH free radicals. The RC$_{50}$ values of the extracts from sample 1, 2 were 2.23, 9.70 $\mu$g/mL, respectively while those of butylated hydroxyanisole (BRA) was 5.25 $\mu$g/mL. The extracts from immature fruits showed over 85$\%$ inhibition on peroxidation of linoleic acid at 100 $\mu$g/mL as determined by both the ferric thiocyanate (FTC) and the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) method.

차세대 TCO 소재

  • 가시광역에서 80% 이상의 높은 투과율과 전기전도성을 동시에 갖는 투명전도성 산화물(TCO) 박막은 LCD, PDP, OLED, 태양전지 등의 다양한 분야에 투명전극재료로서 사용되고 있다. 이들 TCO 박막은 Magnetron sputtering, Chemical vapor deposition, Pulse laser deposition, Ink jet등과 같은 다양한 방법으로 증착할 수 있지만, 대면적의 기판에 균일한 박막형성 및 박막과 기판의 높은 부착력등 양산성의 관점에서 우월성을 가지고 있기 때문에 생산라인에서는 DC magnetron sputtering법이 주로 사용되고 있다. 이 경우, 산화물 박막의 미세구조, 내부응력, 광학적 및 전기적 특성은 스퍼터링 과정에서 발생하는 고에너지 입자들의 기판입사 충격에 크게 의존하기 때문에 고품질의 TCO박막을 제작하기 위해서는 증착공정인자들의 제어는 매우 중요한 것으로 알려져 있다. 대표적 TCO박막재료로서 $In_2O_3$계, ZnO계 및 $SnO_2$계를 들 수 있으며, 이들 중에서 Sn을 $In_2O_3$에 치환고용시킨 ITO박막의 경우, 전기적 및 광학적 특성이 상대적으로 우수하기 때문에 실용화 TCO박막으로서 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. 한편, Flexible display의 경우, 유연성의 폴리머기판위에 증착되는 TCO박막에 대하여 요구되는 특성으로는 높은 투과율 및 낮은 비저항은 물론, 박막표면의 평활도 (낮은 표면조도), bending에 대한 높은 기계적 특성 (낮은 내부응력), 수분침투에 대한 높은 barrier특성 및 저온공정 등을 들 수 있다. 그러나 높은 전기전도도를 가지는 ITO박막을 제작하기 위해서는 $200^{\circ}C$ 이상의 증착온도가 필요하며, 이때 얻어진 다결정의 ITO박막은 높은 표면조도 및 bending시에 낮은 기계적 내구성이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 한편, 기판가열 없이 증착한 비정질 ITO박막은 낮은 표면조도, 높은 엣칭속도 및 양호한 식각특성을 나타내지만, 상대적으로 높은 비저항 및 기판과의 낮은 부착력 등이 지적되고 있다. 따라서 본 강연에서는 비정질 ITO박막의 결정화 온도 (약 $160^{\circ}C$) 이상에서도 비정질 구조를 유지하기 때문에 낮은 표면조도와 높은 엣칭속도를 가지면서 상대적으로 전기적 특성과 기계적 내구성이 개선된 새로운 고온형 비정질 TCO박막에 대한 최근의 연구성과를 소개하고자 한다.

From Mine Tailings to Electricity using Ecological Function: Evaluation of Increase in Current Density by Increasing the Oxidation Rate of Pyrite using Iron Oxidizing Bacteria (생태학적 기능을 이용한 광미 활용 전기 생산: 철산화박테리아를 이용한 황철석 산화 속도 증진을 통한 전류 밀도 향상 가능성 평가)

  • The research evaluates the possibility of generating electricity using pyrite containing mine tailings, which are the major cause of acid mine drainage (AMD), by applying iron oxidizing bacteria (in this case, Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans) and chemical fuel cell technology. The changes in the aqueous $Fe^{2+}$ concentration, which can represent an ionized form of pyrite, with an initial concentration of 9,000 mg/L were investigated during the 20 d growth period. Both the $Fe^{2+}$ and total iron (i.e., total $Fe^{2+}$)concentrations with or without A. ferrooxidans were observed. The $Fe^{2+}$ concentration decreased to about 6,000 mg/L, in the abiotic condition, while it decreased to about 400 mg/L in the biotic condition. The results showed that the increased $Fe^{2+}$ oxidation in the presence of A. ferrooxidans (i.e., catalytic ability of A. ferrooxidans) can be applied to electricity generation using pyrite containing mine tailings. In the co-presence of A. ferrooxidans and pyrite containing mine tailings, $Fe^{2+}$ oxidation and hence electron production increases, which, in turn, improves current density. This study can be applied to utilize ecological functions of indigenous bacteria in mine areas to enhance electricity generation efficiency.

Partial Nitritation in an SBR Reactor by Alkalinity Control (알칼리도 제어에 의한 SBR 반응조에서의 부분아질산화)

  • In this study, major parameter of partial nitritation was investigated for the stable operation. In order to establish partial nitritation system, prevailing parameters such as temperature, BA (bicarbonate alkalinity) and pH were evaluated. As a result, it is inferred that appropriate bicarbonate alkalinity ratio (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) drives stable 50% partial nitritation at $32^{\circ}C$ and ambient temperature, respectively. Alkalinity ratio was proposed as new strategy for 50% partial nitritation without pH control in both temperature regimes. Because of the results, it was added amound of BA required only for 50% nitritation to inhibit nitratation. The effluent $NO_2{^-}-N/NH_4{^+}-N$ ratio reached almost 100% when initial bicarbonate alkalinity ratios (mg $NaHCO_3{\cdot}L^{-1}/mg$ Inf. $NH_4{^+}-N{\cdot}L^{-1}$) were 6.8 (R1) and 6.7 (R2), respectively. Polymerase chain reaction and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) results demonstrated that AOB was the dominant nitrifying bacteria and NOB was negligible after adopting process control.

Effect of Additives on Synthesis of $\textrm{ZrB}_{2}$ By SHS Process and Its Densification (SHS법에 의한 붕화지르코늄의 합성 및 치밀화에 미치는 첨가제의 영향)

  • ZrO2, B2O3 및 AI을 사용하여 SHS법에 의한 붕화지르코늄을 합성을 하고 산화철과 알루미늄 분말의 첨가가 합성물의 치밀화에 미치는 영향에 대하여 검토하였다. 합성물중에 존재하는 결정상은 대부분이 ZrB2와 $\alpha$-AI2O3상이었다. 산화붕소와 알루미늄의 몰비가 1.0:3.3이상일 때 합성물의 치밀화는 크게 증가하였고, ZrB2 입자도$\alpha$-AI2O3용융상과 더불어 조대하였다. 산화철 1목에 대하여 알루미늄을 1-3몰을 첨가한 것과 산화철 1.5몰에 대하여 알루미늄을 3몰 첨가시 $\alpha$-AI2O3를 중심으로하는 슬라그상으로부터 용융상의 분이가 가능하였고, 이들 용융상에 존재하는 결정상은 ZrB2이외에 Fe, Fe2B, Zr2Fe상이었다. 용융상의 상대밀도는 산화철 1몰에 대하여 알루미늄을 1몰 첨가시 83.2%인 반면에 그 이상의 첨가량에 대해서는 치밀화는 크게 증가하여 알루미늄을 3몰 첨가한 경우 상대밀도는 93.7%로서 최대를 나타내었다.

Changes in the Concentration of Tocopherol and Carotenoid in Pinenut Oil during Autoxidation (잣 지방질의 자동산화에 따른 토코페롤 및 카로티노이드의 변화)

  • The changes in the concentration of toropherol and carotenoid in pinenut oil at various stage of refining are studied during autoxidation. The oxidative stability of pinenut oil decreased with the refining degree increased. The tocopheol content of total crude oil was 55.51mg/100g oil and $\alpha$, ${\gamma}$and $\beta$-tocopherol in the crude oil were 25.48mg, 23.94mg and 6.99mg in order, respectively. The amount of $\delta$-tocopherol was trace. The concentrations of $\alpha$, ${\gamma}$ and $\beta$-tocopherol in pinenut oil after degumming or alkaline refining were 23. 85mg, 19.79mg and 6.12mg or 24.08mg, 24.04mg and 5.33mg, respectively. The content of f-carotene was 0.63% of total unsaponifiable materials and that of lycopene was trace. The concentrations of carotenoids and toropherols in pinenut oil decreased while autoxidation progressed. Degrees of destruction of carotenoids and toropherols. were significant at first stage of oxidation. Decrease in $\alpha$-toropherol was found to be faster than that in $\alpha$, ${\gamma}$-tocopherol during oxidation.

Treatment of Oil Contaminated Groundwater Using DAF and Fenton Oxidation Process (DAF와 펜톤 산화 공정을 이용한 유류 오염 지하수 처리)

  • The oil spill occurred frequently due to probably the increased consumption of oil as the energy source and the raw materials of various chemicals. For the treatment of oil contaminated groundwater, DAF(Dissolved Air Flotation) is being used but the removal efficiency is low. Therefore it is necessary to reduce the free phase oil, oil-in water type or water-in oil type emulsified oil, and soluble oil which are the main sources of contaminated groundwater. In this study, treatment of contaminated groundwater was performed using the Fenton oxidation process. The optimum conditions for the removal of THP(Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon) were 3 of pH, 25mM of $H_2O_2$ concentration and 25mM of $Fe^{2+}$ concentration. THP and COD(Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentrations decreased less than 1.5mg/L and 40.0mg/L in 7 minutes using DAF and Fenton oxidation process. However it is necessary to install the settling basin as the sludge concentration increased approximately 5 times.

Electrical Properties of Al2O3/SiO2 and HfAlO/SiO2 Double Layer with Various Heat Treatment Temperatures for Tunnel Barrier Engineered Memory Applications

  • 전하 트랩형 비휘발성 메모리는 10년 이상의 데이터 보존 능력과 빠른 쓰기/지우기 속도가 요구 된다. 그러나 두 가지 특성은 터널 산화막의 두께에 따라 서로 trade off 관계를 갖는다. 즉, 두 가지 특성을 모두 만족 시키면서 scaling down 하기는 매우 힘들다. 이것의 해결책으로 적층된 유전막을 터널 산화막으로 사용하여 쓰기/지우기 속도와 데이터 보존 특성을 만족하는 Tunnel Barrier engineered Memory (TBM)이 있다. TBM은 가운데 장벽은 높고 기판과 전극쪽의 장벽이 낮은 crested barrier type이 있으며, 이와 반대로 가운데 장벽은 낮고 기판과 전극쪽의 장벽이 높은 VARIOT barrier type이 있다. 일반적으로 유전율과 밴드갭(band gap)의 관계는 유전율이 클수록 밴드갭이 작은 특성을 갖는다. 이러한 관계로 인해 일반적으로 crested type의 터널 산화막층은 high-k/low-k/high-k의 물질로 적층되며, VARIOT type은 low-k/high-k/low-k의 물질로 적층된다. 이 형태는 밴드갭이 다른 물질을 적층했을 때 전계에 따라 터널 장벽의 변화가 민감하여 전자의 장벽 투과율이 매우 빠르게 변화하는 특징을 갖는다. 결국 전계에 민감도 향상으로 쓰기/지우기 속도가 향상되며 적층된 유전막의 물리적 두께의 증가로 인해 데이터 보존 특성 또한 향상되는 장점을 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 SiO2/Al2O3 (2/3 nm)와 SiO2/HfAlO (2/3 nm)의 이중 터널 산화막을 증착 시킨 MIS capacitor를 제작한 후 터널 산화막에 전하가 트랩되는 것을 피하기 위하여 다양한 열처리 온도에 따른 current-voltage (I-V), capacitance-voltage (C-V), constant current stress (CCS) 특성을 평가하였다. 급속열처리 공정온도는 600, 700, 800, 900 ${^{\circ}C}$에서 진행하였으며, 낮은 누설전류, 터널링 전류의 증가, 전하의 트랩현상이 최소화되는 열처리 공정의 최적화 실험을 진행하였다.
