How did 'Partisan' become 'The red': The impossibility of pain-representation in the 1970s-1980s - Focusing on Lee Byung-Ju's 『Jirisan』 ('빨치산'은 어떻게 '빨갱이'가 되었나: 1970-80년대 고통의 재현불가능성 -이병주의 『지리산』을 중심으로)

  • In the history of Korean literature, evaluations on 『Jirisan』 (Lee Byeong-ju) are bisected. Some evaluate it as a novel of authentic records which reproduces the history before and after the emancipation objectively while others say it takes advantage of anti-communistic ideology. This study analyzes that difference is resulted not from the distinction of perspectives but from cracks in the text. This is associated with the process of 『Jirisan』's publication. 『Jirisan』 was published serially in 『Sedae』 from 1972, and then, part of the manuscript was published in 1978 and the whole edition published in a series came to be republished in 1981. After that, in 1981 and 1985, part of the follow-up story was printed on the magazine, and then, with the memoirs of those two years as materials, the sixth and seventh volumes were again published through 'revision'. In other words, the publication of 『Jirisan』 is divided into that of the edition published in a series and that of the edition published in 1985 including the contents of revision. The theme of the work, 『Jirisan』 differs according to the point of its completion you may think of. This researcher pays attention to the difference of perspectives between the contents up to the fifth volume and those of the sixth and seventh volumes. Particularly, his evaluation on 'partisans' seems to have changed. In the edition published in a series, he extended 'partisans' into the independence movement in the Japanese colonial era under the Revitalizing Reforms system and adopted the representation of 'partisans' three-dimensionally whereas in the sixth and seventh volumes, he reproduced 'partisans' as beings that were the 'doctrinaire' and 'vicious' 'Reds' and had to be punished. In brief, with 『Jirisan』, he represented 'partisans' in the background of history before and after the emancipation and segmented the discourse, representation and ideology of the Cold War system, but in the process of revision, he stitched up 'partisans' as beings that were evil and losers. Consequently, with 『Jirisan』, he revealed the process of division and contention that proceeded around anti-communism/capitalism within the abyss of the 1970's to 80's and reproduced 'partisans' as beings that were either 'hostile (the Reds)' or 'unknown (losers)

강자성체를 이용한 연속 가변 토크 제어 전달 기구의 개발

  • 4륜 장착 자동차의 토크 전달은 2륜 구동, 4륜 구동 모드를 간단히 전환하는 방식(part time 4WD)과 항시 사륜 구동 모드에서 전후륜의 토크 전달비를 제어하는 방식(AWD, all wheel drive)이 있다. 경제의 발달에 따라서 취미 인구의 확대로 국내에만 180만 명의 R/C car 사용자가 있다. 이 중 2WD-4WD의 전환을 differential lock mechanism으로 구현한 수입산 모델의 가격이 1,000,000원을 호가하지만 가변 제어 방식이 아닌, 정차 후 2-4륜 구동 전환 방식을 적용하고 있으며 상대적으로 내구성이 떨어진다. DC motor의 출력이 늘어나고 배터리의 성능이 좋아진 현재 소형 RC car의 최고 속도는 80 km/h 정도로 빨라졌다. 그러나 마찰 계수가 낮은 노면(실내의 대부분 평활 처리된 복도)에서는 2륜 구동 모드의 활용도가 매우 낮다. 미끄러운 노면에서 후륜 구동 모드로는 oversteer가 발생하여 차량이 스핀하기 쉽고 전륜 구동 모드로는 understeer가 발생하여 제대로 된 코너링이 어렵다. 상시 4륜 구동 모드는 에너지 소모가 크고 전후륜이 tight coupling되어 있는 문제 때문에 일반적인 노면에서 부드러운 코너링이 잘 이루어지지 않는 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 방식은 그림 1와 같이 center shaft의 중간에 영구 자석으로 만들어진 토크 전달용 판이 있고 그 사이에 자계를 차폐할 수 있는 강자성체 셔터를 서보 기구에 연결하여 서보 회전각에 따라서 구동 쪽의 토크가 피구동축으로 전달되는 양을 연속 가변제어할 수 있다. 토크 전달용 판의 차폐 면적에 따른 토크 전달양을 전/후륜 바퀴의 Static torque를 통해 측정하였으며(그림 2), 공중 상태에서 즉 공기저항만을 고려한 상태에서의 RPM 회전수 차이 측정(그림3)을 통해 구동 쪽의 회전수가 피구동축으로 전달되는 양을 측정하여 연속가변 토크 제어 전달 기구의 성능을 확인하였다. 이 기구는 현재 1차적으로는 remote controller의 ch 3(ON/OFF제어 방식)에 연결하여 특정한 양의 토크를 전륜 쪽으로 보낼 수 있도록 구현이 가능하며, ch 2(PID제어 방식)에 연결하여 연속 가변 조절이 가능하도록 구현이 가능하다. 부가적으로 Arduino board를 내장하여 전후륜의 휠센서에서 입력되는 신호를 감지하여 자동적으로 전후륜에 배분되는 토크를 제어할 수 있도록 설계 중에 있다.

Effect of High Molecular Weight Chitosan on the Quality and Decay of Strawberry Fruits (고분자 키토산 처리가 딸기 과실의 품질과 부패에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was aimed to determine the effect of high molecular weight chitosan treatment on the decay incidence and fruit quality in strawberries. Preharvest spray of chitosan (0.2%) effectively reduced the incidence of grey mould and increased fruit firmness. Chitosan application was also effective on remaining of surface gloss. This is probably due to coating effect. Physiological disorders were not found in treatment of 4 sprays. Internal quality such as soluble solid content and acidity seemed not to be affected by chitosan application. The effect of chitosan on keeping freshness was clear in fruit without physical damage at harvest, but much less effective in injured fruit. Postharvest application of chitosan did not affect fruit quality. Above results indicated that chitosan is an alternative to keep strawberry quality through delaying decay and keeping firmness.

Composition of Amino Acids, Sugars and Minerals of Domestic Wheat Varieties (국내산 밀의 품종별에 따른 아미노산, 구성당 및 무기질 조성)

  • The chemical components of 5 domestic wheats(Kru, Suwon 257, Eunpa, Chokwang and Tapdong), Australian standard white wheat(ASW) and dark northern spring wheat(DNS) were determined in terms of amino acids, sugars and minerals for whole wheat and white wheat flour of 70% milling yield. The protein content of whole Eunpa and Tapdong was approximately 15%, and reduced its content approximately 1% after milling compared to that of whole wheats. The high levels of glutamic acid and proline were observed in domestic wheats. The limiting amino acid of domestic wheat was higher than that of ASW, but lower than that of DNS. Especially, Suwon 257 and Tapdong exhibited the higher limiting amino acid content than other domestic wheats. Glutamic acid and proline content increased, while lysine and threonine was decreased after milling. In general, whole wheat exhibited the higher levels of arabinose and xylose, and the lower level of glucose than flour. The results also showed domestic wheat contained the higher amount of arabinose and xylose than the foreign wheats. Domestic wheat and flour possessed the higher amount of mineral such as P, K, Na and Ca than ASW and DNS, while Al and Si were similar to others.

  • Tree-ring data of subalpine conifers growing in Korea were analyzed to evaluate the possibility of enhanced tree growths due to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide. A total of 64 trees of three species(Taxus cuspidata, Pinus koraiensis, Abies koreana) were sampled from three mountain ranges (Seolak, Sobaek, Chiri) at 1200~1750m(above sea level) and four chronologies were developed in spans of 209~412 years. No apparent growth increases were found in the graphs of chronologies. As comparing the growths of 1900-1949 and 1950-1989 period, only one chronology possessed higher mean growth in the post-1950 period. Growth increase found in the Pinus koraiensis chronology from Mt. Seolak was 8% but it could not be solely attributed to increased carbon dioxide concentration.

  • Free and total amino acids of before and after the heating of the small shrimps were analysed quantitatively, in order to confirm the role of amino acids as important precursors of cooked odor components. Differences of free amino acids contents of the three samples were slightly reconized but free amino acids contents of all sample decreased as about half by heating, It seems that decreased amino acids participate In volatile components of the Small Shrimps. (Sergia lucens Hancen, Euphausia Surperba and Euphausia pacifica Hancen). The amino-carbonyl model reaction was carried out, in order to confirm formation mechanism of volatile compounds of the small shrimps during cooking. The model systems constituted by diluted solutions. of glucose and amino acids (proline, taurine and betaine) the most containing in small shrimps. The volatile odor concentrates of model system were obtained by simultaneous distillation and extraction with Nickerson's apparatus. The odor concentrates of model systems(I, III) had not small shrimp-like odor and main compounds were 1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2-acetopyridine and 2-acetyl pyridine. In model system II, hetero ring nitrogen and sulfur compounds identified in small shrimps were not did.

Characteristics of $SnO_2$ Prepared by Preparation Method with Ammonium Nitrate (Ammonium Nitrate를 이용한 침전법으로 제조된 $SnO_2$ 특성분석)

  • $SnO_2$ powders were prepared from the calcination of stannic acids precipitated from the aqueous solution of $SnCl_4$ with ammonium nitrate as a precipitator at $90^{\circ}C$. For the comparison of properties, the stannic acids were prepared from the homogeneous precipitation method using urea as a precipitator at the same temperature. The stannic acid from ammonium nitrate at a thermal gravity analysis showed the weight loss until $700^{\circ}C$ and the percentage of total weight loss was 16.5%. The crystallization of stannic acid into $SnO_2$ finished in the calcination at $600^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. The crystallite size of $SnO_2$ increased with the increase of calcination temperature and initial concentration of $SnCl_4$ solution. In case of the same calcination condition, $SnO_2$ prepared from homogeneous precipitation using urea had a relatively smaller crystallite size rather than $SnO_2$ prepared from ammonium nitrate.

Effects of pH and Hardness Resulted from Total Carbonate Concentration on Sericin Solubilities (총탄산 농도에 따른 pH 및 경도가 견층 Sericin 용해에 미치는 영향)

  • Two kinds of solution for the measurement of solubilities of Sericin are prepared as followings at temperature 90 deg. C. One has the total carbonate concentration as 0, 50, 100mg CO2/l prepared with non-carbonate distilled water, sodium hydrogen carbonate and 0.1N HCI and NaOH, the other has total hardness, that is, calcium hardness or magnesium hardness as 0, 20, 50, 100mg CaCO2/l respectively prepared with non-carbonate distilled water, calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide. Solubilities of Cocoon layer Sericin at above solution gives following results ; 1. pH shows little effect on the solubility of Sericin at the non-carbonate solution but at the carbonate solution pH shows a sensitive effect on the solubility of Sericin. These means that pH controls the concentration of H2CO3, HCO3-and CO32- which prevent and promote the solution of Sericin. 2. After the cocoon layer treatment at the solution, the initial pH of 4.0, 7.0, 9.0 of the solution changed to 6.0-6.5 at the lower total carbonate solution. However in the higher total carbonate solution pH did not changed very much. This may be explained by the buffer action of carbonate. 3. The effect of the hardness on the solubility of Sericin was not found in the non-carbonate solution with the standard hardness after treatment of cocoon layer.
