Factors affecting intentions to seek help in Adults with Suicidal Ideation (자살 사고를 가진 20-30대 성인의 도움요청의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study examined factors affecting the intention to formal and in formal help in adults with recent suicidal thoughts. 215 adults who were recruited through online community participated in the self-report online survey. The results showed that social support had a significant effect on the formal help seeking. Social support, suicide stigma, and self-Concealment had a significant effect on the informal help seeking. In conclusion, social support had a major influence on the intention of asking for help. These results highlight the need for interventions to increase social support and reduce self-concealment in order to increase the request for help for suicide in the high-risk group.

The Impacts of Chinese Student's Perceived Social Support on Subjective Well-Being: Focused on the Mediating Effects of Self-Esteem (중국 유학생의 지각된 사회적 지지가 주관적 웰빙에 미치는 영향: 자존감의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This research focused on verifying the impact of Perceived Social Support on Subjective Well-Being through Self-Esteem. In addition, the mediating role of Self-Esteem was clearly identified as a key variable that can lead to Subjective Well-Being. To verify this, an empirical analysis was conducted on Chinese students who studying in Korea universities. Through empirical analysis, it was found that Perceived social support improves self-esteem. Furthermore, self-esteem was found to increase the level of Subjective Well-Being. Thus, it was found that self-esteem played a partial mediating role in the relationship between Perceived Social Support and Subjective Well-Being. Through these results, practical implications were presented and future research directions were discussed.

Impact of Adult College Students' Social Support and Service Quality of University Education on Learning Engagement: Focusing on Medium Effect of Learning Motivation (성인대학생의 사회적지지와 대학교육서비스품질이 학습몰입에 미치는 영향: 학습동기의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • This study is prepared to provide fundamental data for constructing learning system to reinforce learning facilitation and improve learning effect for adult college students by testing the medium effect of learning motivation in the relation of social support, service quality of university education, and learning engagement. For this objective, A survey was conducted with 573 adult college students attending 2-to-3-year colleges and universities located in Daegu metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do. The analyzed research results are as follows. First, learning motivation had partial medium effect in the relation of social support and learning engagement. Second, learning motivation seemed to have complete medium effect in the relation of service quality of university education and learning engagement. The above research results suggest that continuous development and efforts are needed to establish various support systems and improve educational services in order to increase adult college students' immersion in learning.

Effects of Sensation Seeking Propensity on Social Support and Exercise Obsession in Sport Participants (생활체육 참여자의 감각추구성향이 사회적 지지와 운동 강박에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to investigate the effects of sensation seeking propensity of sports participants on the social support and exercise obsession. In order to achieve the objective of this study was to collect data to target the 250 people who regularly participate in sport in Seoul. The data collected by utilizing SPSS WIN 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 statistical reliability and to perform confirmatory factor analysis, a multivariate analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, the following results were obtained. As a result of the analysis, First, there were statistically significant differences among the variables according to demographic characteristics. Second, there was a statistically or negatively related relationship among the measured variables. Third, the sensory pursuit propensity had a statistically significant effect on social support and exercise obsession. Finally, social support had a statistically significant effect on exercise obsession.

Effects of Stress, Resilience, and Social Support on Post-Traumatic Growth in Nurses Caring for COVID-19 Patients (코로나19 환자를 간호한 간호사의 스트레스, 회복탄력성, 사회적 지지가 외상 후 성장에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to determine the stress, resilience, and social support of nurses who cared for COVID-19 patients and the impact on post-traumatic growth. The survey was conducted on 179 nurses who cared for COVID-19 patients at a general hospital located in D City from July 19, 2021, to August 10, 2021. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 22.0. Post-traumatic growth showed a significant positive correlation with resilience (r=.499, p=<.001) and social support (r=.494, p=<.001). As a result of multiple regression analysis, prior knowledge about COVID-19 (𝛽=.142, p=.023), resilience (𝛽=.330, p =<.001), and social support (𝛽=.296, p =<.001) was a significant variable affecting post-traumatic growth. These results will be used as basic data to improve nurses' post-traumatic growth.
