This paper analyzes the performances of actor Song Kang-Ho in the background of interdisciplinary and integrated film acting, using performance rather than acting as a general term. If the act is a concept limited to acting training or acting skills, performance is a broad concept that includes expressions, movements, and emotions. The performance on the screen can be explained in the context of film and can be extended to the social attitude of acting. In addition, I used the term screen in terms of representation rather than film referring to medium. Song Kang-Ho expressed the performances of various characters in more than 30 films. Although his facial expressions, gestures, and voices suitable for individual characters in various genres are represented in various ways, personality inherent in the actor Song Kang-Ho integrates persona with character. What drives it is the social attitude of screen performance. As a sign, acting is an ideological construct and foregrounds a character who describes a certain social and historical moment. Song Gang-Ho as actor, persona and character, who asserts the popularity, speaks to society and makes discourse. His comic performance is always confronting the tragedy of life, his face is the spirit of the times, and it expands into social meaning. The face of the close-up does not laugh at all, the gesture symbolized by the curved rear view is exaggerated disorderedly and disturbingly, and the voice using dialect accent does not follow the standard of the vocal.

Over the last ten years, media convergence and multiple platform expansion have affected the ways that people watch conventional television. In the post-TV era, the growing use of the Internet and mobile multi-media devices, such as smart phones, as well as the availability of abundant television content, allows television consumption to be more personalized, diversified, and linked with various media activities, especially social media uses. This study attempts to examine how television viewing experiences have been transformed with the development of the trans-media uses. Based on Walter J. Ong's concept of relation-ism, which posits that new media transform the meanings and relevance of old media rather than making old media obsolete, this study will pay particular attention to how the cultural meanings of television viewing have been redefined in the post-TV era. For the examination, this study has looked at concrete cases of the television viewing experiences of 29 young people in their twenties. Based on in-depth interview data, this study discusses the newly emerging characteristics of television viewing, its temporal and spatial experiences, and the significance of television as a medium and as a social place.

우리나라의 명실상부한 최고 휴양지. 외국인들이 가장 찾고 싶어하는 곳. 바로 제주도를 이르는 말이다. 제주도는 지난 11월 12일 '뉴세븐원더스(New7wonders)'에 의해 '세계 7대 자연경관'으로 선정됐다. 이를 통해 제주도는 우리나라 국민들은 물론, 전세계인들에게 관광지 및 자연유산의 산실로 더욱 큰 사랑을 받을 것으로 전망된다. 최근 이곳에 아주 의미있는 건물이 들어서고 있다. 바로 제주세계자연유산센터다. 제주의 관광을 상징하고 국제적 위상에 걸 맞는 탐방인프라를 구축하고자 추진해 온 세계자연유산센터는 지난해 8월 착공에 들어가 내년 6월에 준공될 계획에 있다. 이 센터는 제주 자연유산의 관리 및 보전을 위한 연구와 모니터링 활동을 하게 된다. 쉽게 말해 제주도의 모든 자연 문화적 유산을 이 제주세계자연유산센터에서 통괄적으로 관리, 운영하게 되는 것이다. 이렇게 사회적으로 큰 의미가 있는 제주세계자연유산센터가 만약 안전하지 못하다면? 안전이 확보되지 않는 공정과 시민들의 안전을 담보지 못하는 시설이라면, 전세계인은 물론 지역민, 국내관광객 모두에게 외면 받을 수 밖에 없다. 때문에 이곳 건설현장은 '안전'을 최고의 가치로 여기며 공사를 진행하고 있다. 제주도를 찾는 국내외 관광객들의 쉼터이자 길라잡이 역할을 하게 될 제주세계자연유산센터가 안전하게 만들어지는 과정을 한 번 들여다 봤다.

This paper critically examines the existing discourses about 'relationship', a key element of social work practice and questingly examines Lao-tzu's work of Tao Te Ching, the book of way and virtue, as an alternative theoretical framework for social work relationship. Compared to current discourses of relationship beleaguered by either modernism or postmodernism, both of which are in the deadlock of binary perspective, the insights and vision in Tao Te Ching are successfully able to overcome the limits of them and provide new and profound way of thinking about human, society and their relationship. Especially core cannons crystallized by natural humanistic concepts for cosmos coupled with innate critical power against artificial manipulations of world can extend the horizon of understanding concerning the relationship between client and social workers and therefore provide a new and attractive roles in professional relationship. Moreover, opposed to usual images of Lao-tzu's ideas such as nihilism and passivity, alternative relationship of social work can play an important role of caring the disordered reality where Dao disappered and criticise the selfish desires of individuals and comport the broken-hearted minds in modern society. In addition, results of this paper implies that more extended study articulating ideas of Tao Te Ching with the social work practice would have lots of potentials to promote later researches in quest of 'Korean' social work practice.

본 연구는 초국가주의 개념을 바탕으로 한국에서의 '동남아현상' 중의 하나로 태국음식의 한국 내 전파와 적응을 설명하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 본 논문은 태국문화의 다양성을 구성하는 태국음식의 기원과 특징 및 태국음식이 국경을 넘어 확대되는 동기와 전략에 대해 살펴보았다. 한국에서 태국음식의 위상에 대해 알아보기 위해 한국내 태국식당의 현황을 조사하고, 한국인들의 태국음식에 대한 인식과 반응을 알아보기 위해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사의 결과는 태국음식의 세계적인 인기와 한국과 태국간의 인적교류의 증가에도 불구하고 태국음식이 아직은 한국인들에게 낯설고 크게 매력적으로 다가가지 못하고 있는 것으로 파악되었다. 그렇지만 한국내 동남아 현상의 확산을 나타내는 주요상징으로서 태국음식은 단기간에 한국사회에 비교적 빠른 속도로 전파되고 있고, 한국인들의 입맛에 맞추어 나가려는 다양한 노력이 이루어지고 있다는 사실도 확인되었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 초국가적 문화의 확산으로서 한국내 태국음식이 '동남아현상'으로 친숙해지고 현지화 하는 단계를 통해 태국음식이 한국의 문화적 다양성을 발전시키는 데 많은 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

This study analysis if the concepts of kitsch and vernacular remains as cultural elements for product design. Because their function and aesthetic value have vivid possibilities for general product design fields. For the purpose, this study limits its range within post modernism, kitsch, and vernacular, and analyzes their relationships. Against functionalism, post modernism had cultural pluralisms to approach into popular styles, and some of them was amusing design. That post modernism designs stimulated human beings' emotion by decorations or some symbolic forms from specific objects is similar to the symbolism, regionalism, or pluralism of kitsch or vernacular. Kitsch is a free style that is not limited in any specific trends. It is a Meta culture that has influenced into various fields including design, so kitsch does not have a parallel position with a product or design. In product design, kitsch is the behavior and result of imitating existing objects' images. It could have amusement according to which objects are imitated. So if human beings feel amusement by kitsch, it could be same as the direction of post modernism. Kitsch is determined by design atmospheres. They cannot be specified abjectly, and can be different according to people. With symbolism and regionalism, kitsch and vernacular appeared according to people's needs. While kitsch is consumer's tastes-oriented, vernacular is cultural tradition-oriented. Kitsch has symbolism that specifies products' functions or design concepts, and it is a communication method between human being and products. Because vernacular is province-oriented, it has a lot of styles according to regional living environments and cultural differences. So vernacular design reflects continued traditional lifestyles. By restorative memory, regionalism, cultural pluralism, amusement, and symbolism, kitsch and vernacular could be understood the sub or parallel concepts of post modernism. They might be easily miss-understood mixed concepts that have western and national characters. But in kitsch and vernacular concept, modernizing pas by using the pluralism of post modernism should be considered positive. So, the range of the further study is also supposed to be focused on more widened fields to, to establish cultural identification in design.

This study dealt with the effect of the university in area development to Cheonan city. This study ran parallel literature investigation and actual proof investigation. Questionnaires 394 enforce frequency analysis in SPSS 15.0 versions. University positive effect on local community is smooth supply of human capital in local community, increase of regional income, improvement of area image by expanded education opportunities, supply of various university facilities in local communities etc. Contradictory effect is expansion of gap for areas that young persons in local community taken to education of good quality leave other local community, occurrence of conflict by collision of new culture and culture of area characteristic. Role of university for area development is role of help consultation, symbolic role, educational role etc. But the weighed role is leading role which university leads area development. Finally, the prompting methods of university for local community development .must accomplish interchange of operational mode with high quality human resources activating removal of manpower between arithmetic.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of 'traditional' terminology in Korea. We focus on an empirical investigation of how media reports are conveying 'tradition' terminology in our society by applying text mining and social network analysis techniques. The analysis covered 2,481,143 news articles related to 'tradition' terminology that appeared in the media since the 1920's. In this research, frequency analysis, association analysis and social network analysis were used on articles related to 'tradition' terminology from 1920 to 2017 by decade. By applying these data science techniques, we can grasp the meaning of social culture phenomenon related 'tradition' with objective and value-neutral position and understand the social symbolism which contains the tradition of the times.

This study examined the social trauma experienced by direct victims of accidents and each member of the society affected by grand-scale disasters based on the concepts of collective unconsciousness, archetype, and individuation from Jung's analytical psychology, and their experience of therapy through media. For this purpose, the survivors of the disaster of Sewol that occurred on April 16, 2014, family of the deceased, psychological professionals, and general volunteers were selected as the subjects for one-on-one in-depth interviews and focus group interviews. The findings can be summarized as follows: first, the subjects are suffering from different forms of social trauma such as seclusion and anxiety due to primary/secondary incidents, but there is possibility for them to overcome the social trauma as a social community. Second, the archetypes of life and death, mourning and remembrance are showing in the subjects' everyday lives. In particular, it was found that various archetypes are appearing symbolically through the craft activities in which the survivors are participating most actively. Third, the media therapy program for the victims of the Sewol has limitations in various aspects. However, the fact that the craft activities that are not bound by time and space are highly effective manifests that anyone can take advantage of trauma therapy through digital media that are easily found around them. Finally, this study is significant as it verified the possible individuation of social trauma and identified the limitations of media therapy to suggest its development directions.

Purpose: Study the method to attach to traditional pattern for the demands of eyeglasses' function which is becoming extended to cultural psychological and social aspects. Methods: To understand the symbolic characteristic of traditional pattern, especially through using palmette, embroidery, and practicing it on glasses' temple and cleaner. Results: Globalization stimulates crossing-consumption cultural trend rapidly. Thus, new glasses pattern involving Korean ethnic feature is a new source that could well adapt to this tendency. This report presents new aspect which corresponds to the demand of modern consumers. By modernizing Traditional pattern and method, we could discover the cultural value of glasses design. Conclusions: Glasses imply social position of users and became a measure that reveal a part of style that presents modern psychological language. Thus, the glasses design using traditional pattern makes a chance to change the beauty sense from western style to oriental one. And it achieves the desire of cultural consumption through glasses design.
