The purpose of this study is to analyze the research articles on social work practice and discuss tasks of social work practice research in broadening and deepening social welfare knowledge body in Korea. First, this paper arranges critical discussion and results on social work practice research since the dawn of history in Korean social welfare research. Second, this paper examines 874 research articles published in Korean Journal of Social Welfare from the volume one in 1998 to the volume 66(4) in 2014. The appearance rate of social work practice research was 16.6%(145 articles), and empirical research in relation to social work practice was 40.5%(363 articles). Among 145 articles, 8.6% were practitioners, and the rest of them were in the position of professors. In addition, 26.2% were researches on program effectiveness, and 29.0% were researches on social worker. Third, this paper was interviewed 8 professors who majored social work practice. They evaluate the present states of social work practice research as positioning to boundary, crisis and confusion. Finally, this paper discusses the tasks of Korean social work practice research in order to more solidly develop the knowledge body of social work practice in Korea.

Recent social studies on space have focused on changing the social relations that activate in space. In general, these studies have been based on the concept of social space on which is grounded the power-relation analysis such as power, oppression, resource allocation, and so on. Social work practice has traditionally recognized the importance of the environment surrounding human beings. Nonetheless, social work practice has tended to comprehend space in a neutral and abstract way because it has insufficiently considered modern spatial theories. For this reason, this study focusing on Lefebvre's social space theory reviewed the contemporary discourses on space in the area of social work practice. Following the review, this study attempted to establish the concept of "Space-based Social Work Practice". Specifically, this study analyzed the actual cases in social work field and explored the applicability of "SSWP". According to the results, this study delivered the implications of Space-based Social Work Practice as an alternative method and suggested the practical direction of SSWP.

This study attempts to identify the changes in social reactions to disabilities in general, and to research the contextual implication of these changes in social work practice in Korea. In the early years after the Industrial Revolution, disability was conceived as social unfitness and it was assumed that the cause and responsibility could be attributed to people with disabilities. But, in the midst and late 20th century, social responsibility for people with disabilities was argued and generally accepted. As the results of these changes, conceptual models explaining disabilities have changed gradually; there has been a transition, so called, from individual model to social model. In a similar vein, WHO has refined the definition and classification of disability. Related to these changes, social welfare service paradigm for people with disabilities has shifted. This paradigm shift can be explained with the perspective of strength approach, empowerment approach, case management and independent living model. In Korea, 1998 Act on welfare for people with disabilities meant that social service for the disabled were categorized with, namely, residential service, community rehabilitation service and vocational rehabilitation service. Recently, the extent of these services has been rapidly broadened. In these situation, this study researched to identify the implications on social work practice in the context of changes in social response, conceptual model, definition and also service paradigm. Such as the followings are enumerated for the implications: disabled person's participation in assessment process, development of assessment tools focusing on social and environmental perspectives, reinforcement of information service helping self-determination, supporting on formal and informal helping network, expanding self-help programs and, finally, a shift from displacement model to support model.

The citizen-initiative has been frequently mentioned in community building project which is being promoted by Seoul City. The citizen-initiative has become an important concept in the direction of community welfare efforts. However, this concept has not been defined clearly in social welfare. In this context, the purpose of this study is to find how the practitioners of the social welfare practice field recognize the concept of citizen-initiative. In this study, concept mapping method was used to generate 59 statements about the citizeninitiative in 10 social workers in Seoul. Multidimensional scaling analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis are used to do mapping and grouping the 59 statements. The results are as follows. A total of 6 categories were derived. The six categories are named "Inducement of Participation", "Practice", "Procedure", "Awareness and Interest extension", "Expression of Opinion", "Attitude and Emotion". "Practice" category was revealed as a core category in the concept of citizen-initiative. This study is meaningful as a first step to discuss "what is the citizen-initiative?" and to make consensus in social welfare academic area and practice field.

Client satisfaction has been getting more attention in the field of social work in Korea. However, there have been very few standardized tools to measure the construct. The purpose of this study is to develop the Korean version of the Client Satisfaction Inventory developed by McMurtry and Hudson. This study was conducted with a total of 259 clients of 6 social service agencies in Seoul metropolitan areas. Based upon the results of factor analysis, the Korean version of the Client Satisfaction Inventory(CSI-K) is considered a two-factor measure. The alpha coefficients of the subscales of the CSI-K are .964 and .885 which are considered very high. The subscales are significantly correlated with convergent variables and very weakly correlated with discriminant variables. It is suggested that scales more suitable for social work settings in Korean be developed.

인권에 기반을 둔 사회복지 실천은 사회복지사의 존재 이유라고 해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 사회복지사는 사회적 약자의 인권을 옹호하고, 사회의 문제를 해결하며, 사회정의를 실현하는 전문가이기에 인권과는 불가분의 관계에 있다. 최근 한국 사회에서 인권에 대해 많은 논의가 이루어지고 있다. 특히 고령화 사회 속에서 2008년 9월 치매와의 전쟁을 선포한 이후치매관리종합대책을 수립하여 정부가 주도적으로 추진해 오고 있는 시점에서 인권 관점에 근거한 치매노인 돌봄을 이해하기 위해, 인권 관점이 치매노인 돌봄을 위한 사회복지 실천 현장에 주는 장점과 과정은 무엇인지 검토해 볼 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 노인의 보호와 치매의 정의, 원인과 치매노인 돌봄을 위한 기술과 장점을 살펴보고, 인권 관점에 근거한 치매노인 돌봄을 위한 방안을 제언하고자 한다.

This research tries to study the effect that the welfare field training the course selection. Because of being the important place where the welfare field training trains the expert, the knowledge, value, and practical lodging tries to be identify instructed. In this aspect, we try to analyze about the extend of satisfaction of the actual training, that is the extent of desiring the link including the class of school subject extend of satisfaction of the department of social welfare engine, and etc. and factor about the actual training of the department of social welfare, because the welfare field training the technique is connected directly with the route. First, the individual characteristic of the social welfare and trainees is grasped. Second, the relationship of the social welfare and factor and course selection is investigated. Third, the social welfare and university (circle) lives look into whether the social welfare field training has an effect on the course selection or not.

보건복지부는 ‘사회복지의날’ (9월7일)을 맞아 사회복지발전에 기여한 유공자들을 선정해 9월6일 발표했다. 지체4급 장애인으로서 1965년 사회복지법인 에스터원 사무국장을 시작으로 41년간 무의탁 아동과 중증 장애인들을 복리증진을 위해 헌신해온 박일남 홍파복지원장이 영예의 국민훈장 모란장을 수상했다. 또 기업이 사회참여 확산을 위해 많은 노력을 기울인 한용외 삼성복지재단 사장과 지난 30여년간 아동 지역사회복지 등 실천현장에서 지역사회복지발전에 기여한 박홍석 마산종합사회복지관장이 국민포장을 받는 등 총 185명이 정부포상을 받았다. 시상식은 9월7일 오전 서울63빌딩에서 열린 ‘사회복지의 날 기념식’ 및 ‘2006전국사회복지전진대회’ 행사와 함께 진행됐다. 다음은 주요 수상자들의 수상 소감 및 공적 내용을 소개한다.

This study was carried out to analyze the job of care managers in their social welfare practicing fields about the frequency of care management duties they perform, types of duties considered to be most important and the reason, and types of jobs counted to be the most difficult and the reason by qualitative case study research methods. The job area of care management was elicited using DACUM method, and those 9 job areas derived from it were analysed according to frequency of performance, importance and difficulty. The subjects were 10 social workers serving more than 3 years with major duty of care management and chosen by reputational-case selection, and those collected data analysis was operated according to embedded analysis types. We discussed the implication of this research. : The experience of participants are the process of maintaining the tension, and search the equilibrium point between client centered service and institutional pressure. This is an exploratory study on the status of the social work field practicum at a cyber university. The purpose is to investigate the current situation and improvement plan of the social work field practicum. A qualitative analysis was conducted with 11 professors who have instructed the social work field practicum at cyber universities. The social work field practicum based on the experiences of the professors is investigated, and this paper analyzes the status according to students, schools, practitioners, and institutions. In order to improve the quality of the social work field practicum, factors for improvement were analyzed through the efforts of students, schools, the Korean social workers' association, institutional improvements, and social welfare instructors. The results of the study are as follows. Students, schools, and training organizations should recognize the importance of the social work field practicum and must strive for systematic and consistent education. It is also important to remember that a social worker is not a professional with simple qualifications, but an expert with a philosophy, values, and ideologies. The direction for improvement in the social work field practicum is as follows. When constructing a social welfare curriculum, the school should have a realistic curriculum and teaching method that can enhance the sense of the field. The student should not be qualified as a social worker only as a vague investment for the future, but should have the professional ability to serve clients as a social worker and to give professional help to clients, considering the best welfare service for human beings. Institutions should provide a place for students to integrate theory and practice in vital social welfare experiences as social workers. The Republic of Korea is now facing an age with one million social workers. In order to open the future of social welfare in Korea, we need united endeavors with government that can develop students as pre-social workers and establish universities, institutions, and their systems for a substantial social work field practicum.
