This article reviews studies on the societal challenge and technological innovation. Technological innovation in response to social problems is a relatively recent topic of Innovation Studies. Socially-oriented innovations and policies are different in terms of the goals, innovation processes, and ecosystems when compared with industrial innovation. This study examines the existing research that discusses science and technology innovation from the viewpoint of solving societal problems and discusses the direction of future research. This paper presents major research issues on the characteristics of innovation in societal problem solving, innovation governance, roles and ecosystem of innovators, and relationship between societal problem solving policies and other policies.

본 연구는 고령화 사회에 대응하여 고령자의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위해 과학기술이 해야 할 역할과 그 적용범위에 대해 살펴본다. 이를 위해 우리나라 노인의 삶의 질에 대한 현황을 살펴보고, 기술과 사용자 환경의 공진화 이론과 사회적 수요기술공급 순환체계 이론에 기반하여 보청기 사례연구를 통해 고령자에 대응하는 우리나라 과학기술의 사회적 기술공급체계에 대한 현황과 문제점을 알아본다. 마지막으로 고령자의 삶의 질 증대를 위한 과학기술 활용방안을 시스템적 관점에서 제시한다.

This paper aims to analyze the rise and decline of Seattle Community Network(briefly SCN), an electronic community network based upon Seattle, U.S. from the perspective of 'social shaping of technology' theory rather than that of technological determinism That is, this paper focuses on the social processes of the evolution of SCN. And this paper considers SCN as one important element of the 'network society', a concept manufactured by Manuel Castells. SCN was built successfully over 10 years ago by some progressive local activists and volunteers. The main purpose of building SCN at that time was said to make local community stronger with the help of advanced information technology. This can be understood that the founders of SCN tried to shape the direction of network society development based on civil society's values including public access and commitment to democracy rather than those of private companies. After some years of successful working, however, SCN started to decline. The expansion of internet services and the booming of dot.com companies in the late 90's were the main factors that made SCN decline. In conclusion, it can be said that the socia-economic factors rather than technological factors gave birth to the rise and decline of SCN.

Objectives：The children with ADHD have some deficits in social skills including the peer relationship. There are several approaches to teaching social skills to children with ADHD, and many are combined in comprehensive programs to maximize treatment effects. We conducted this study to explore the direct effects of social skills training program applied to children with ADHD. Method：Five children and their mothers who were diagnosed to Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) in Y elementary school survey participated to the study. We performed the 8-session program with the modified the Pfiffner and McBurnett's program(1997), and assessed the social skills, problem behaviors, peer acceptance, parenting behaviors, and parenting stress. Results：Parent's reports were some different from teacher's reports；teacher reported improvement in social skills and peer acceptance, but parent notified decrement in problem behaviors. And also, there were no changes in maternal behaviors, but significant reducing effects in parenting stress. Conclusion：The stimulants are mainstream in treatment of children with ADHD. The social skills training programs are combined in comprehensive treatment programs in children with ADHD to maximize treatment effects.

In general, social problem-solving research aims to create important social value by offering meaningful answers to various social pending issues using scientific technologies. Not surprisingly, however, although numerous and extensive research attempts have been made to alleviate the social problems and issues in nation-wide, we still have many important social challenges and works to be done. In order to facilitate the entire process of the social problem-solving research and maximize its efficacy, it is vital to clearly identify and grasp the important and pressing problems to be focused upon. It is understandable for the problem discovery step to be drastically improved if current social issues can be automatically identified from existing R&D resources such as technical reports and articles. This paper introduces a comprehensive dataset which is essential to build a machine learning model for automatically detecting the social problems and solutions in various national research reports. Initially, we collected a total of 700 research reports regarding social problems and issues. Through intensive annotation process, we built totally 24,022 sentences each of which possesses its own category or label closely related to social problem-solving such as problems, purposes, solutions, effects and so on. Furthermore, we implemented four sentence classification models based on various neural language models and conducted a series of performance experiments using our dataset. As a result of the experiment, the model fine-tuned to the KLUE-BERT pre-trained language model showed the best performance with an accuracy of 75.853% and an F1 score of 63.503%.

본 연구는 사회연결망 분석이론을 통해 원자력 과학기술에 대한 사회과학 연구의 경향적 특징을 파악하고, 동 분야의 주요 연구주제와 하부 연구분야를 도출하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구대상은 1957년부터 2016년까지 국내 학술지에 게재된 원자력 관련 사회과학 분야 연구논문 605건으로, 저자가 제시한 키워드 간 관계망 형성을 통해 네트워크 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과, 첫째 국내에서 수행된 원자력 관련 사회과학 연구의 기술통계적 특징을 확인하였다. 원자력 사회과학 연구는 1957년부터 시작되어 꾸준히 수행되어졌는데, 2011년을 기점으로 논문발표가 급격히 증가했다. 주로 법학, 행정학, 정책학, 정치학의 연구가 대학 내 연구자를 중심으로 수행되어 왔다. 원자력 관련 기술개발이 주로 정부 출연연구기관에서 수행된다는 점을 고려 했을 때, 향후 사회과학 분야에 있어 대학과 출연기관 간의 역할분담이 필요하다. 둘째, 후쿠시마 원전사고가 발생한 2011년을 기점으로 사회과학의 원자력에 관한 연구가 양적, 질적으로 본격적으로 활성화 되었다. 원자력 관련 사회과학 지식 네트워크는 2011년 이전에 비해 규모면에서 큰 차이를 보였다. 또한, 네트워크 중심성 분석결과, 후쿠시마 사고 이전 사회과학 연구자들의 연구경향은 핵비확산, 과학기술 정책, 사회수용성이었다면, 후쿠시마 이후에는 원전해체, 손해배상, 에너지믹스, 탈핵운동 등과 같은 다양한 원자력 현안으로 확대되었다. 셋째, 하부 연구분야 도출을 통해 특정 연구주제별 쏠림현상을 확인했다. 하부 네트워크 분석 결과, 제시된 9개의 하부 연구분야는 네트워크 속성 값에서 차이를 보였다. 특히, 법학 관련 연구주제가 가장 높은 밀도를 갖는 반면 지속가능 발전과 에너지 믹스 관련 연구주제의 밀도가 가장 낮게 나타났다. 본 연구는 원자력에 관련된 학자의 인식을 연구경향 분석을 통해 파악한다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 이는 추후 원자력 관련 정책연구자 혹은 정책결정자에게 유용한 기초자료를 제공할 것이라 기대된다.

본 연구에서는 4차 산업혁명에 대한 선제적 대응 및 2050년 환경변화 대응 이슈 도출, 미래사회 지질자원분야 역할 재조명을 위해 2050 미래상 및 지질자원 기술의 위치와 역할에 대한 연구를 실시하였다. 거시환경 분석을 위해 사회, 기술, 경제, 환경, 정치 부문(STEEP)을 분석하였다. 미래사회 변화 및 트렌드를 분석하여 지질자원 분야와 관련이 되는 주요 이슈를 4차 산업혁명, 우주 지구, 에너지, 광물자원 재료, 기후환경, 지질환경, 삶의 터전으로 제시하였다. 지질자원 분야 키워드와 미래 이슈 연관 분석, 미래사회 해결 이슈(기술 수요) 구체화, 요구하는 서비스 속성 도출, 지질자원 분야 서비스/제품을 구성하여 지속가능 풍부한 자원 미래 실현의 4개 미래기술, 예측(조정)되는 자연환경 관리의 3개 미래기술, 제한 없이 확대된 삶의 터전 구축의 3개 미래기술을 제시하였다.
