Molding Analysis for the Production of Large Sun Visors in Vehicles (차량용 대형 선바이저 생산을 위한 성형해석)

  • Diverse accessories are used in automobiles, such as navigation systems, front and rear cameras, spoilers, and sun visors. Sun visors block sunlight so that drivers can drive safely with a better view, and they are used in many automobile designs. However, when large plastic products are manufactured using injection molding, there are many difficulties that develop, like weld lines, short shots, flow marks, imperfections, and distortion. In this study, a CAE simulation was conducted based on previous results to predict potential problems in the injection molding of large products. The flow characteristics up to complete charge for the melting resins were captured using a computer-aided engineering simulation. The temperature departure on the front part of a flow was about $10^{\circ}C$ and very stable. The practical ejecting time of the cold runner was about 70 seconds in the simulation. Finally, the capability of a suitable injection machine was calculated and recommended by prediction of the injection pressure and the die clamping force.

  • 기존 애자형 피뢰기의 문제점인 폭발 및 비산으로부터 보다 안전하여 최근 각광을 받고 있는 폴리머 피뢰기에서 필라멘트 와인딩을 망사형 구조로 제작하고 제작된 필라멘트에 실리콘 하우징을 단일 사출 성형한 구조로 시료를 제작하여 기밀특성 및 방압특성에 대해 검증하였다. 시험결과로 제시된 자료는 추후, 제품의 양산 및 현장 적용에 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 사료된다.

  • LED (Light Emitting Diode)는 친환경적이며 고수명 등의 여러 장점을 가지고 있어서 액정디스플레이의 광원으로 널리 사용되고 있다. 그러나 LED 제품을 제조하기 위해서는 칩, 패키지, 모듈, 시스템으로 구성된 4단계의 복잡한 제조공정을 거쳐야 하므로 가격이 높은 단점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해서 패키지, 모듈, 시스템의 3단계의 공정을 하나로 통합한 hybrid LED package(HLP) 개념이 제시되었다. HLP는 LED chip을 PCB에 직접 실장한 뒤 초정밀 가공 및 성형 기술을 활용하여 일체형 광학패턴을 인가함으로써 공정을 단순화하면서도 광효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 다구찌 실험계획법을 사용하여 디스플레이에서 중요시되는 휘도를 높일 수 있는 일체형광학패턴 형상 최적화를 실시하였으며, 최적화된 일체형 광학패턴을 제조하기 위한 초정밀 가공 및 성형기술을 개발하였다. 최적화 결과 높이 25um, 꼭지각 90도의 음각형태의 사각피라미드 패턴이 최적형상으로 결정되었으며, 패턴이 없을 때와 비교하여 휘도가 약 32.3% 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 일체형 광학패턴을 제품으로 구현하기 위하여 초정밀 절삭기술을 활용하여 마스터 금형을 제작하였다. 최종적으로 사출성형을 통해 일체형 광학패턴을 제작하게 되는데 이때 사출기 내부 공기흐름 및 진공도를 최적화함으로써 패턴 내부에 불필요한 기포가 발생하지 않도록 하는데 성공하였다. 이를 통해 생산성이 높은 사출성형으로 HLP 제품을 양산할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였고, 추후에는 실제 제품을 제작하는 연구를 수행할 예정이다.

Inertia Force Problem and Nozzle Contact Mechanism on Linear Motor Drive Injection Molding Machine (리니어모터식 사출성형기의 반력문제 및 노즐터치기구)

  • This paper presents the inertial force problem of ultrahigh-speed injection molding machine using linear motors, and presents its solutions. To make very thin products by injection molding, very high injection speed is required, and linear motors are used for this purpose. But direct drive by linear motors may cause brief nozzle separation from the sprue bushing because of the inertia force as large as the total output thrust of the linear motors, and this momentary separation can cause molten plastic leakage. In this paper, two solutions are proposed for this inertia force problem. One is the mechanical cancellation of the inertia force, and the other to increase the nozzle contact force. With the latter solution, the stationary platen bending worsens, so a new nozzle contact mechanism is also proposed, which can prevent the stationary platen bending.

An Investigation of Surface Appearance of an Injection-Molded Plastic Part with Various Induction Heating Conditions (고주파 가열조건에 따른 플라스틱 사출성형품의 표면특성 고찰)

  • High-frequency induction is an efficient way to rapidly heat mold surface by electromagnetic induction. In the present work, high-frequency induction heating is applied to injection molding of a mobile phone cover in order to eliminate weldlines by efficiently raising the mold temperature. Through the induction heating experiments, the maximum temperature of $143^{\circ}C$ is obtained on the mold surface in 3s of heating, which is higher than the glass transition temperature of the resin material. An injection molding experiment is then performed with the aid of induction heating, from which we can successfully remove all the weldlines of the mobile phone cover. The effect of induction heating conditions such as the heating power and the heating time on the surface appearance is experimentally investigated.

Development of Analysis Model for Characteristics Study of Fluid Power Systems in Injection Molding Machine (사출성형기 유압시스템의 특성 검토를 위한 해석 모델 개발)

  • Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical and fluid power part and electro-electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. The analysis model which is detailed about the parts applied a publishing catalog data. Sub system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like displacement, pressure, flow rates at each node and so on. Total fluid power circuit model is also made and analyzed. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit of injection molding machine.
