Gesture Interaction of Digital Frame for Visual Image Content (영상콘텐츠용 디지털액자의 제스처 인터랙션 방식)

  • Today we always can take a picture and enjoy it anywhere and anytime with a propagation of digital camera and camera phone. Even though the amount of digital picture content produced in every day life has been increasing, the way of enjoying it was just with phones or PC monitors. A small size screen of a cell phone and a desktop monitor are not suitable environment for enjoying digital picture, so the new market for digital photo frame has been opened. Until now, various kind of digital photo frames of many manufactures have been released for several years, but they have similar interaction way each other due to the limitation of their hardware specification so don't fill the intuitive mental model that users have about the product called a photo frame. Thus, this research aims to suggest an interaction way of digital photo frame providing with better usability and emotional satisfaction according to the spatial environment that it's located and users' behaviors.

  • Reading a photograph is a process of perceiving the image in it. We are able to approach the intention of the photographer only from the sensory material of the image. To make sure how we see the image when we look at a photo, this paper did an experiment with Robert Doisneau's photo, 'Un Regard Oblique'. The hypothesis was set upon the idea of Mary Ann Doane, a pioneer in Gender study. Eye-tracker, Tobii was used to measure the movements and the fixation lengths of the pupils of 44 subjects. From the results of the experiment, it was verified that people look at photographic image in a certain way. At the same time, the gazing strength was differential on every subjects and subject groups.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국 잡지 속에 나타난 자동차광고의 레이아웃디자인 트랜드를 연구해 보고자 한다. 국내자동차 전문국내 잡지 모터매거진(motor magazine)속에 나타난 자동차잡지광고 50개를 조사 분석하여 타이포그래피, 사진, 색상, 여백의 4가지 요소를 분석한 결과 사진의 배경은 자연이미지를 주로 쓰고, 자동차사진은 입체감이 잘 나타나도록 45도 각도로 되어있으며, 가독성의 중요함을 서체의 크기나 정렬방법을 통하여 알 수 있었다.

The Factors Motivating Empathic Responses of Women in their 30s and 40s: Focusing on Kakao Story (SNS에서 30/40대 여성들의 공감 표현에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 - 카카오스토리 중심으로)

  • Recently, many people switch from an open SNS like facebook to a closed SNS like Kakaostory to expect more empathetic responses. In this study, I derive the design factors that motivate empathetic responses in SNS. In particular, I focus on Kakaostory that is popular for women in their 30s and 40s. I conduct literature review and survey and find out the design factors and identified the type of photos that induce comments and feeling icons. While writing comments is influenced by the relationship with the poster and the contents, adding a feeling icons is affected by the states of the responders. The heavy users are more affected by the contents than by relationship. The photos with more responses have better image quality and capture situation better. The photos with more comments are cuter, brighter, and more positive. The photos with feeling icons only are visually sophisticated. This results can be useful to develop a design that induce empathetic responses.

  • Recently, retro music is popular in the domestic music industry. Even in the movie industry, remake or retro movies are made continuously. In this paper, we consider the reason of remake in the viewpoint of mathematics and show that there is a maximum number of lyrics, pictures, music, and movies that human can make due to the characteristics of digital contents. The time that human cannot make new lyrics, new pictures, new music, and new movies any more will be estimated. Therefore, artists will have difficulties to make new contents in the future, and human have to listen and see the previous lyrics, movies, music, or pictures in the future. This study will give a deep philosophical insight for contents industry.

  • 국내 최대 규모를 지닌 사진영상기자재 전시회, 2014 서울국제사진영상기자재전(P&I 2014)이 17일부터 20일까지 코엑스 1층 A,B홀에서 열렸다. 코엑스, 한국광학기기산업협회(KOPHIA), 한국사진영상기재협회(KOPI) 주최로 열린 이번 행사는 사진영상분야 151개 업체 680부스의 규모에서 300여 개의 브랜드를 만날 수 있었으며 사진과 영상에 대한 문화와 트렌드를 만날 수 있는 이번 전시회에서는 문화콘텐츠로 구성된 다양한 부대 행사와 세미나가 열려 관람객들의 눈을 사로잡았다.
