study proposes a new key-segment closing method using thermal effect as a substitute to the process of set-back and reset-back for the FCM construction of a partially earth-anchored cable-stayed bridge. The proposed method is to artificially heat up the inside of girders located in the main span before closing the key-segment in a cantilever state. Then, the heat is removed after finishing the closure in a continuous bridge state. Using the changes in boundary conditions and structural systems, the proposed method can generate new member forces that reflect the advantage of the partially earth-anchored cable system. From the construction sequence analysis, it is found that the proposed method increases the efficiency of a partially earth-anchored cable-stayed bridge by reducing the compressive axial forces on the girders.

A cable element happens to vibration easily rather than other elements because a cable element has few rotational stiffness. Dynamic motion of stay cable is distinguished from vibration by wind and/or rain and excitation by support movement. Mostly a stay cable is vibrated by wind and/or rain except that when natural periods coincide between stiffening girder and stay cable. It happens to deterioration of serviceability and durability by vortex shedding, rainy-wind induced vibration, and galloping. Additional damping generated by installation of cable damper is well known good scheme against above phenomena. Researchers have lack of effort to develop the recommendations even if cable stayed bridges are designed and constructed in Korea. Therefore, development of the domestic recommendations should be achieved as soon as possible. This study suggests the consistent and systematic recommendations on vibration controlling design of stay cable by installation of damper. It gives readers two important methodologies that one evaluates required damping ratio, the other determines installing point considering efficiency.

한국코닥은 지난 4월 18월 상암동 본사 회의실에서 히로시 후지와라 사장 취임 기자간담회를 개최했다. 이날 간담회에서 히로시 후지와라 사장은 고객의 성공을 위해 최선을 다할 것이며, 고객의 요구사항을 정확히 파악하기 위해 만남의 기회를 많이 가질 것이라고 밝혔다. 또한 겸임하고 있는 일본 코닥의 경영방침인 'One Kodak'은 고객제일주의를 지향하는 코닥의 글로벌한 철학으로 한국 실정에 맞는 고객 서비스 방법을 개발, 적용해 나갈 것이라고 했다.

지난 9월 21~24일까지 대구 엑스코(EXCO)에서 개최된 한국국제축산박람회에서 우수축산인 선발, 시상식이 있었다. 이중 양계분야에서는 예산에서 채란업을 경영하는 이정하(금덕농장) 사장이 영예의 최우수 양계인으로 선정되어 농림수산식품부 장관으로부터 표장을 받았다. 본고는 이번에 최우수 양계인으로 선정된 이정하 사장을 인터뷰한 내용을 정리하였다.
