  • Mobile commerce provides a convenient shopping experience in which users can buy products without the constraints of time and space. Mobile commerce has already set off a mega trend in Korea. The market size is estimated at approximately 15 trillion won (KRW) for 2015, thus far. In the Korean market, social commerce and open market are key components. Social commerce has an overwhelming open market in terms of the number of users in the Korean mobile commerce market. From the point of view of the industry, quick market entry, and content curation are considered to be the major success factors, reflecting the rapid growth of social commerce in the market. However, academics' empirical research and analysis to prove the success rate of social commerce is still insufficient. Henceforward, it is to be expected that social commerce and the open market in the Korean mobile commerce will compete intensively. So it is important to conduct an empirical analysis to prove the differences in user experience between social commerce and open market. This paper is an exploratory study that shows a comparative analysis of social commerce and the open market regarding user experience, which is based on the mobile users' reviews. Firstly, this study includes a collection of approximately 10,000 user reviews of social commerce and open market listed Google play. A collection of mobile user reviews were classified into topics, such as perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use through LDA topic modeling. Then, a sentimental analysis and co-occurrence analysis on the topics of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use was conducted. The study's results demonstrated that social commerce users have a more positive experience in terms of service usefulness and convenience versus open market in the mobile commerce market. Social commerce has provided positive user experiences to mobile users in terms of service areas, like 'delivery,' 'coupon,' and 'discount,' while open market has been faced with user complaints in terms of technical problems and inconveniences like 'login error,' 'view details,' and 'stoppage.' This result has shown that social commerce has a good performance in terms of user service experience, since the aggressive marketing campaign conducted and there have been investments in building logistics infrastructure. However, the open market still has mobile optimization problems, since the open market in mobile commerce still has not resolved user complaints and inconveniences from technical problems. This study presents an exploratory research method used to analyze user experience by utilizing an empirical approach to user reviews. In contrast to previous studies, which conducted surveys to analyze user experience, this study was conducted by using empirical analysis that incorporates user reviews for reflecting users' vivid and actual experiences. Specifically, by using an LDA topic model and TAM this study presents its methodology, which shows an analysis of user reviews that are effective due to the method of dividing user reviews into service areas and technical areas from a new perspective. The methodology of this study has not only proven the differences in user experience between social commerce and open market, but also has provided a deep understanding of user experience in Korean mobile commerce. In addition, the results of this study have important implications on social commerce and open market by proving that user insights can be utilized in establishing competitive and groundbreaking strategies in the market. The limitations and research direction for follow-up studies are as follows. In a follow-up study, it will be required to design a more elaborate technique of the text analysis. This study could not clearly refine the user reviews, even though the ones online have inherent typos and mistakes. This study has proven that the user reviews are an invaluable source to analyze user experience. The methodology of this study can be expected to further expand comparative research of services using user reviews. Even at this moment, users around the world are posting their reviews about service experiences after using the mobile game, commerce, and messenger applications.

  • The study aims to understand major topics and concerns of gender identity-related questions expressed by the users of the NAVER social Q&A site. To achieve this goal, we analyzed 2,120 questions created from 2010 to 2018 using natural language- and information retrieval-based methods. Results indicated that the major topics discussed by the users include interpersonal relationships, doubts about gender identity, sexual orientation, feelings and relationships, and concerns about gender identity. In addition, users mainly expressed concerns regarding general issues of gender identity; sexual orientation; negative cognition about gender identity; confession, coming-out, homosexuality; future, heterosexual relationships, military enlistment; and causes of gender identity confusion. The present study effectively derives information needs from real-world concerns about sexual identity by employing topic modeling techniques, and by comparing the advantages of exact match and tf-idf-based information retrieval methods extends methodology of Library and Information Science. Further, it has contributed to the academic maturity of the study of information behavior by observing the information needs or information-seeking behaviors of online community users with specific interests.

  • The virtual avatar is a principal way as media for communicating language and affective feelings in virtual environment. As similar purpose, this study evaluates user's visual feeling according to the changes of iris color and pupil size of virtual avatar which is considered as new factors for representing realistic avatar. Virtual avatars were configured by pupil accommodation and iris color(green, brown). After presenting above image to 32 participants, a questionnaire(18 items) based on previous studies was created, and reported as a 5-point scale. Experimental result showed that the case of adopting pupil accommodation induced more realistic visual feeling of subjects. This result can be regarded as a basis for designing realistic virtual avatar by confirming the effectiveness of pupil accommodation of avatar in terms of representing visual presence.

  • Traditionally, the engineering field has been dominated by face-to-face education focused on experimental practice, but demand for online learning has soared due to the rapid development of IT technology and Internet communication networks and recent changes in the social environment such as COVID-19. In order for efficient online education to be conducted in the engineering field, where the proportion of experimental practice is relatively high compared to other fields, virtual laboratory practice content that can replace actual experimental practice is very necessary. In this study, we developed a line tracer model and a virtual experimental software to simulate it for efficient online learning of microprocessor applications that are essential not only in the electric and electronic field but also in the overall engineering field where IT convergence takes place. In the developed line tracer model, the user can set various hardware parameter values in the desired form and write the software in assembly language or C language to test the operation on the computer. The developed line tracer virtual experimental software has been used in actual classes to verify its operation, and is expected to be an efficient virtual experimental practice tool in online non-face-to-face classes.

  • The objective of this study proposes the new user's addiction model in 'Social Network Games' (SNGs). Research model is derived from the separation of two characteristics. First one is logical characteristics that includes 'Functional' (F), 'Keystroke' (K), and 'Goal' (G). Second one is feeling characteristics that consists a few factors such as 'Emotion' (E), 'Social' (S), and 'Affection' (A). For the pre-test, a total of 30 participants responded to survey in order to inspect the fitness of research questionnaire, roughly validity of the proposed model, and the direction of this reseach. After that for the main test, a total 300 users participated in this research. The final number of effective participants were 261 because 39 were insincere respondents and without playing SNGs who were excluded. Then we examined the measurement model by performing 'Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modeling' (PLS-SEM) analysis to test the research hypothesis empirically. The results of the measurement and structural model test lend support to the proposed research model by providing a good fit to the construct data. Interestingly, the model showed the significant effects of the interaction between eleven hypothesis(H1,H2,H3,H4,H5,H6,H7,H8,H9,H10, H12). Only one hypothesis decision t-value not supported that is involved the relationship between SNGs Addiction and Keystroke, H11(1.193). This research expect to contributes to an exploratory SNGs research to clarify the base of addition and will aids understanding of users' behavior associated with SNGs development.
