  • 시스템의 복잡도가 증가하고 컨버젼스 제품들이 늘어나면서 기존의 사용자 인터페이스 설계 방법론으로 미래의 사용자 환경을 예측하기엔 한계를 보인다. 또한, 제품 개발 시 관련 부서간 협업의 비중이 늘어난 반면 커뮤니케이션을 통해 얻을 수 있는 효과가 감소하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 사용자 경험 설계 방법론으로써 PACT 분석을 응용한 시나리오 기반 디자인(Scenario-Based Design)을 채택하여 디지털 가전제품간의 네트워크 사용 환경에 대한 개념 디자인 방향을 효율적으로 제시하였다. PACT 분석은 People, Activity, Context, Technology 등 4 가지 요소를 시나리오 전개의 중요한 인자로 삼고 있는 방법론으로써 미래 사용 환경에 대한 예측과 체계적인 접근을 가능하게 했다. 또한, 다양한 전공자들로 구성된 관련 부서간의 커뮤니케이션 도구로 활용되어 각 분야의 전문성을 결과물에 반영하기에 효율적이었다. 추후 연구과제로는 본 방법론을 체계화하여 복잡하고 예측하기 어려운 도메인을 위한 사용자 중심의 설계 프로세스를 구성할 예정이다.

  • In the recently diversified web environment, the existing methodologies for studying and evaluating the usability of infographics have limit in being applied to new user experience environment. To ensure effective web design that considers various user environments, research needs to be done for such usability of infographics that executes 'simplification and compression of information'. The purpose of this study is to understand the expandability of web-based infographic design, re-establish its concept, and produce the elements involved in the usability evaluation to come up with effective data on user experience. It is expected that this study will be used as a basic research for elucidating the connection to type-based or experienced-based data through convergence of various areas of information technology in the continuously transforming smart media environment.

A Study on the Improvement for Bidet Product-Service Design for Seniors by PSS-based 4D Double Diamond Design Process Model (PSS 기반 4D 더블 다이아몬드 모델을 활용한 시니어를 위한 비데 제품-서비스디자인 개선방안 연구)

  • This study uses the bidet 4D double diamond design process model to propose an improvement for "senior-oriented bidet product service design" that reflects the characteristics and needs of seniors. This study was based on the product service system concept. To this end, qualitative research on seniors was conducted to derive user value factors, and, based on this, product service ideas were discovered, and a prototype reflecting the usefulness review of a working-level expert group was proposed. First, a "smart application service for user-customized function setting guide" was proposed. A bidet incorporating Internet of Things technology and a smart phone are linked to provide an app service that automatically interprets user characteristic information and information on bidet products to guide customized functions. Second, a control panel and remote control user interface to "user-oriented product service interface" was proposed. In consideration of the usability and cognitive ability of seniors, a simple and intuitive physical user interface such as a configuration centered on main functions, button arrangement according to task sequence, and a touch screen remote control was presented. Third, we proposed a "bidet care service linked with products and health/hygiene care" that provides a wide range of services such as user health and hygiene, cleanliness, entertainment, etc., in addition to regular bidet product service. This study proposed a product-based service design methodology that can improve user experience and relationship quality by discovering and improving the pain points and needs of users (seniors) in the process of using bidet products (before, during, and after use).

Usability test about immersion in the Augmented Reality based Product Design (증강현실 기반 제품 디자인에서의 몰입감에 대한 사용성 평가)

  • 본 논문에서는 증강현실 기반 제품 디자인 시, 논문 [1]에서 제안된 몰입감 향상 기법들에 대한 사용성 평가를 통해, 사용자에게 다차원 피드백(multimodal feedback)을 제공하는 것이 몰입감 향상에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가에 대해 알아본다. 우선 기존의 데스크톱 기반의 디자인 환경과 다차원 피드백을 가능하게 하는 증강현실 기반 디자인 환경과의 비교 후, 시각 피드백에 대한 사용성 평가로써 증강된 가상객체에 의해 가려진 손을 다시 보이게 함으로 얻게 되는 실재감 향상 정도와 사용자의 입력에 따른 컨텐츠의 시각적 맵핑의 적절성을 평가한다. 또한 청각 피드백에 대한 평가 기준으로써 시나리오 상의 상황에 따른 배경음/효과음 맵핑의 몰입감과 적절성을 평가한다. 마지막으로 촉각 피드백에 대한 평가로써, 물리적인 감각형 객체에 가상객체를 정합함으로써 얻게 되는 촉감과 시나리오 상의 이벤트에 따라 제시되는 진동-촉각 피드백에 의한 몰입감 향상 정도를 평가한다. 제시된 사용성 평가의 결과는 기존의 증강현실 기반 디자인 시스템의 몰입감을 향상 시키기 위한 구현에 있어, 고려될 수 있는 사항으로써 의미가 있다.

Software Design Framework for Content Creation (콘텐츠 제작을 위한 소프트웨어 디자인 프레임워크)

  • Nowadays, the various kind of software packages that support content creation consumed in touch-type terminals as an application have come into the market. These softwares have a different style of user task compare to existing user task. The reason why difference style has been appeared for now is because interaction timing has a important role of both content creation and consumption. For this reason, in this paper, we propose a software UI design framework for content creation using MB-UID and UCD model based on task modeling. The proposed framework is made up of five steps: business rule model, creation role model, creation flow model, creation action model, presentation model. Through this framework, we handle the interaction between a content creator and software user interface at the content creation phase. At the same time, we consider a possible interaction type which can occur by consumers at the consumption phase in advance.

  • This study is a case analysis for user interface(UI) design of spectrophotometer which is widely used in the field of chemistry, biology and environment, based on user experience(UX). Generally, experimental equipment developments are centered on functionality and technology, and the interface for interaction between the user and the machine is developed only by the engineers who do not have much consideration for the users. From this background, this study tried to find out how UX could melt into UI so that a kind of spectrophotometers can be designed to help the work process of researchers in the real context by examining and analyzing the real users' experiences and also considering the developer's perspective. As a result, it was possible to improve UI and was found that redefinition of the goal of UI, time-efficiency, security, and sufficient information delivery are essential to the design of user interface for spectrophotometers.

A Study on the development of mobile system for younger generation based on the experience-based product development process (경험디자인을 적용한 모바일 상품 컨셉 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The aim of this research is to develop communication model and tools that would help in incorporating user experience into information appliance product development. To do so, this research suggested three major modelling techniques, including user-experience model, design strategy model and experience product model. Using these modelling tools, any members in design teams (investigator and designers) will be able to communicate their own ideas and research results each other at any period of the product development process. Each tools have distinct factors that would help identify elements in the user research stages, idea generation stages and product development stages. To verify the efficiency of these models, the case study was conducted with final year students at their studio class. As a result, the benefit of using these tools were identified as 1) these tools accelerate the communication between user researchers, designers and engineers and 2) evaluation process of the product is much more dearer that before. and 3) various user research techniques can be explored.

  • 일반적으로 컴퓨터를 이용한 디자인 지원 시스템은 다지이너의 행동과 같은 데이터를 통계적으로 분석하여 일련의 디자인 행위를 추출해 내는 인공지능의 접근 방식을 사용하여 왔다. 그러나 이는 많은 양의 수집된 데이터를 기반한 방법이기 때문에 계속해서 변화하는 유행에 대처할 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 개인의 취향을 반영하기도 어렵다. 이같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해 이 논문에서는 대화형 유전자 알고리즘(Interactive Genetic Algorithm : IGA)을 이용하여 명시적으로 표현하기 어려운 취향을 적절히 반영하는 디자인 지원 시스템을 제안한다. IGA는 상호작용에서 얻어지는 사용자의 평가를 적합도 함수로 사용하는 유전자 알고리즘의 하나로, 일반적인 적합도 함수를 결정하기 어려운 디자인이나 예술 등의 문제 해결에 사용될 수 있다. 한편, 몇 개의 부분적인 곡선으로 의상의 디자인을 표현하였던 기존의 방법들과는 달리 전체 디자인을 목과 몸통, 팔과 소매, 치마와 허리선의 세 가지 부분 디자인으로 나누어 표현함으로써 좀더 현실적인 여성복을 디자인할 수 있었다. 시스템의 인터페이스를 보완하기 위해 OpenGL을 이용한 3차원 모델이 사용되었으며, 사용자들을 대상으로 한 실험 결과 제안한 의상 디자인 지원 시스템이 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper's objective is the analysis of eye-movement recording with visual perception process, the inference of heuristic guidelines with human information processing, and the generation of design principles for practical works. For this objective, it was experimented on that the user's eye-movement recording of interactive media with the Eyegaze Interface System, and analyzed the visual perception process of top-down & bottom-up processing, and inferred the design principles from human information process. Our results provide the implications of design through the analysis of the user's eye-movement recording that were changed according to each menu depth of the interactive media. And, it is proposed that the new concept of heuristic guidelines based on each stage of action that is related to human factors.

  • It is very difficult, but important, to induce and maintain voluntary user engagement in content. For example, many Internet contents provide financial rewards for the user's participation and maintenance. However, there are limitations to methods such as stimulating only external motivations, such as monetary rewards, and sophisticated design and management are needed to obtain sustained and voluntary user participation in content. For this purpose, we propose a Gamified CMS that extends the existing Content Management System (CMS) by referring to the example of the Gamified Learning Management System. This will ultimately increase the participation and commitment of users in content.
