  • Future mobile services will require data transmission rates of 100 Gbps or higher due to the universalization of virtual and augmented reality devices. Therefore, THz technology, which uses an ultrahigh frequency band of 200 GHz or higher, is expected to be a candidate for such high-quality services. This article describes the current status of THz radio propagation characteristics, device and system developments, and network requirements to identify the overall trends in THz wireless communication technology.

  • The recent efforts in academia and industry represent a paradigm shift that will extend the IoT from the home environment so that it is interoperable with the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). IoV is a special kind of IoT. It allows to connect between vehicle and things located in infrastructure. Furthermore, IoV enable to create new intelligent services through collaboration with existing various services such as smart city and connected home. In this paper, we develop a service in order to realize IoV. To this end, we design a novel vehicle service platform which could automatical controlling the IoT device according to drivers' voice. To show practical usability of our proposed platform, we develop a prototype service could be call car-to-thing (C2T). We expect that our proposed platform could eventually contribute to realizing IoV.

  • Radio frequency identification system (RFID) is an automatic technology and aids machines or computers to identify objects, record metadata or control individual target through wireless waves. Connecting RFID reader to the terminal of Internet, the readers can identify, track and monitor the objects attached with tags globally, automatically, and in real time, if needed. This is the so-called Internet of Things (IOT). RFID is often seen as a prerequisite for the IOT. This paper surveys the technologies of RFID and IOT, discusses the applications and challenges of RFID technology used in IoT.

유럽의 5G 기반 협력 커넥티드 자율주행 기술 개발 현황

  • 최근 유럽 위원회(European Commission)의 ICT 분야 연구에 대한 목표는 사이버 보안, 사생활 보호, 5G, 사물의 인터넷, 데이터 경제, 자유로운 데이터의 흐름(free flow of data) 등과 같은 디지털 정책 분야에 미래 EU(European Union) 자율주행 프로젝트의 초점을 맞추는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2017년과 2018년, 10개의 디지털 국경 커리도(Digital Cross-Border Corridors)가 발표되었고, 5G 기반 CCAM 서비스 실증을 확립하였다. 유럽 위원회는 이러한 5G 기반 CCAM 서비스 실증의 일환으로 2018년 3개의 대규모 프로젝트(5G-MOBIX, 5G-CARMEN, 5GCroCo)를 선정하였다. 본 기고문에서는 2018년 유럽 위원회에서 선정한 3개의 5G 기반 CCAM 프로젝트에 대하여 설명한다.

  • IoT(Internet of Things)기기의 이용률은 가파르게 증가추세를 보이며, 이젠 어떠한 사물에도 인터넷이 보급될것으로 전망된다. 5G 네트워크는 이러한 수많은 기기들을 끊임없이 통신하게 할 수 있는 역할을 해내기 위한 매개체로 보인다. 미래의 원활한 통신을 위한 핵심기술인 5G 네트워크는 기존보다 작아진 셀들로 이루어 져 있다는 것이 가장 큰 특징이다. 그러나, 이러한 점은 셀이동시 사용되는 기존의 핸드오버 방법으로 모빌리티를 관리하기에는 최적화 되어있지 않다.본 논문에서는 5G 환경에서 직면할 문제인 핸드오버의 새로운 관리기법을 제안한다.

  • 최근 사물 인터넷(IoT)의 발전으로 계산 집약적이거나 지연시간에 민감한 태스크가 증가하면서, 모바일 엣지 컴퓨팅 기술이 주목받고 있지만 지상에 고정되어 있는 MEC 서버는 사용자의 요구사항 변화에 따라 서버의 위치를 변경하거나 유연하게 대처할 수 없다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)를 추가로 이용해 엣지 서비스를 제공하는 기법이 연구되고 있다. 그러나 UAV는 지상 MEC와는 달리 배터리 용량이 제한되어 있어 태스크 마이그레이션을 통해 에너지 사용량을 최소화하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 MEC 서버들 사이의 로드 밸런싱과 UAV MEC 서버의 에너지 효율성을 최적화하기 위해 강화학습 기법인 Q-learning을 이용한 태스크 마이그레이션 기법을 제안한다. 제안 시스템의 성능을 평가하기 위해 UAV의 개수에 따라 실험을 진행하여 잔여 에너지와 로드 밸런싱 측면에서 성능을 분석한다.

  • The fourth industrial revolution and technological innovation will make the job factor of people with disabilities complicated and difficult. Thus, this study analyzed the technical factors influencing the job structure and tried to find a way to develop the job of the people with disabilities in response to the 4th Industrial Revolution by changing the labor market and changing the trend of the employment by industry. The methods for this study are literature research and FGI. First, technological factors affecting the job structure of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are artificial intelligence, Internet and networking of things, 3D printing, big data, Second, technological innovation due to the industrial revolution was a major factor in the job structure. As the industrial revolution and technological innovation progressed, the job structure shifted rapidly from the manufacturing industry to the service industry, Third, as the measures of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the change of the job structure, it is necessary to make preemptive investment for the development of competency to cope with technological innovation, Finally, in order to respond to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the rapidly changing technological innovation, the basic data of people with disabilities should be able to be big data.

  • The early Web technology was to show text information through a browser. However, as web technology advances, it is possible to show large amounts of multimedia data through browsers. Web technologies are being applied in a variety of fields such as sensor network, hardware control, and data collection and analysis for big data and AI services. As a result, the standard has been prepared for the Internet of Things, which typically controls a sensor via HTTP communication and provides information to users, by installing a web browser on the interface of the Internet of Things. In addition, the recent development of web-assembly enabled 3D objects, virtual/enhancing real-world content that could not be run in web browsers through a native language of C-class. Factors that evaluate the performance of existing Web applications include performance, network resources, and security. However, since there are many areas in which web applications are applied, it is time to revisit and review these factors. In this thesis, we will conduct an analysis of the factors that assess the performance of a web application. We intend to establish an indicator of the development of web-based applications by reviewing the analysis of each element, its main points, and its needs to be supplemented.

  • With the rise of the fourth industrial revolution, the importance of establishing R&D strategies to develop ICT technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Robots, the Internet of Objects, and 3D Printing is increasing. In this study, we analyzed the effects of the fourth industrial revolution on society and the present state of the national defense technology planning system, and proposed improvement measures for the utilization of the fourth industrial revolution in the defense industry from the perspective of defense R&D. The current defense R&D strategy focuses on securing the core technologies of each weapon system required by the military through research and development. Under the current system, the role of fourth industrial revolution technology will be confined to some of the weapons systems required by the military. In order to overcome this limitation, we propose a technology roadmap for the future weapons systems.

Classification of Environmental Industry and Technology Competitiveness Evaluation (환경산업기술 분류체계 및 기술 경쟁력 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the technological competitiveness of the environmental industry with developed countries in order to establish an international market expansion strategy of the Korean environmental industry and technology. In order to evaluate the competitiveness of the environmental industry and technology, core technologies were classified by the environmental industry sectors based on the classification system of the domestic and international environmental industry and technology. After developing the evaluation index data, the Delphi analysis, journal and patent analysis, as well as the export and import analysis were carried out and the standardization analysis was performed on the index data. Moreover, the weights of each evaluation index were calculated using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method and the evaluation results of competitiveness of the environmental industry and technology in Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France were derived. As a result of the evaluation, the United States was rated with the highest technological competitiveness in all the environmental industry sectors, while Korea got the lowest technological competitiveness rating compared to the 4 developed countries. In particular, Korea got the lowest level of technological competitiveness in the sector of multi-media environmental management and development for a sustainable social system. Therefore, in order for the Korean environmental industry and technology to enter the global advanced market, it is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness through the development of the fourth environmental industry based on IoT(Internet of Things), cloud, big data, mobile, and AI(Artificial Intelligence), which are currently the country's domestic strengths.
