Estimating the Effectiveness of Road Safety Features using Pedestrian Accident Probability Model (보행자 사고확률모형을 이용한 도로안전시설물의 효과도 추정(4차로 일반국도를 대상으로))

  • The ratio of Pedestrians in traffic accident fatality takes up 43% in Korea, which is 2.5 times as much as OECD's average. The traffic accidents features by road type shows that the fatality of the national highway posts the highest due to the accidents of pedestrians. Accordingly, the establishment of safety facilities for pedestrians is expected to increase on the rural roads for the prevention of pedestrian accidents. However, studies on pedestrians have been mainly focused on urban intersections. In Particular, studies on estimating the effectiveness of safety features for pedestrians are very poor. Thus, in this study. the Pedestrian accident probability model on four lane national highway was developed by using logit model. Also, this study analyzed and proposed the effect of facilities as a relative risk by using an odds ratio. As a result of the analysis, the Improvement of sight distance, installing sidewalks and lightings were proven effective alternatives for reducing the pedestrian accidents.

Verifying the Voluntariness of the Location of Drunk Driving Accidents (음주운전사고 발생위치의 임의성 검증)

  • The cases of drunk driving accidents have been steadily increasing every year. The number of accidents was quadrupled from 7,303 cases in 1990 to 25,150 cases in 2004. In addition, the proportion of drunk driving accidents to total traffic accidents was 2.9% in 1990 but it increased to 13.0% in 2003. Studies of drunk driving accidents have been focusing on analyzing psychological decisive factors, classifying drivers' individual characters and types of drunk driving accidents by considering the location of drunk driving accidents. This study assumed that drunk driving accidents would have regular characteristics in respect to spatiality and analyzed its relation with spatial factors such as, accident black spot, the location of bars, the distance of drivers' houses, and spatio-temporal distributional characteristics through drawing density distribution and connecting the time of accidents. In order to achieve the goal of this study, the individual location information was organized and drawn as types of GIS data. From the result of density distribution using Kernel Density Mapping and analysis through the coefficient of areal correspondence, it was understood that drunk driving accidents correlates with some spatial factors.

A Study on the FTA Analysis of Blasting Accidents (FTA기법을 이용한 발파사고 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The industrial explosives in Korea have been made and used since 1952. The blasting accidents have increased gradually with the use of explosives. Based on the Police Department and Guns & Explosives Safety Technology Association's researching materials, the blasting accidents between 1988 and 1997 have been investigated and analyzed in this paper. FTA method was applied for the analysis of the blasting accidents which occurred in the tunnels, roads, subways, and various kinds of building construction area. The results show that the majority of the accidents, about 45.7% of the total, are due to the fly rocks. It is similar trend in Japan. The FTA analysis performed on the accidents by fly rocks shows that the major source of the accident is human factors such as non-observance of the safety rules, less knowledge of the safety and so on. The results of the study ate expected to provide basic data for making and observing the safety rules, making and amending the laws concerned and planning the security project. It will be helpful in preventing the blasting accidents and in reducing the loss of valuable lives and the financial damage.

  • Traffic accidents are caused by a variety of factors. Among the factors that cause traffic accidents are weather conditions at the time. There is a difference in the percentage of deaths according to traffic accidents, due to the weather conditions. In order to reduce the number of deaths due to traffic accidents, to predict the incidence of traffic accidents that occur in response to weather conditions is required. In this paper, it propose a model to predict the incidence of traffic accidents caused by weather conditions. Predictive modeling was applied to the theory of Markov processes. By applying the actual data for the proposed model, to predict the incidence of traffic accidents, it was compared with the number of occurrences in practice. In this paper, it is to support the development of traffic accident policy with the change of weather.

  • 지방상수도의 관 파손사고 감지 및 누수관리 방법에는 블록시스템 구축을 통한 소블록별 야간최소유량 감시방법이 가장 대표적이다. 야간최소유량은 새벽 2시와 4시 사이의 인구 활동 비율이 가장 낮은 새벽 시간대에 소블록에 공급된 유량을 의미하며, 대부분 유량 성분은 누수량일 것이라는 가정에서 출발한다. 그러나 아파트 중심의 주거 형태를 보이는 도심지의 경우, 새벽 시간대에도 다량의 물수요가 비정기적으로 발생하고 있어 관망의 이상 여부를 감시하기 위한 관리기준으로서 야간최소유량을 이용하기에는 높은 일간 변동성에 따른 한계가 있다고 할 수 있다. 즉, 야간최소유량은 관 파손사고 발생의 감시보다는 관로 연결 또는 급수전 분기 부위에서 발생하는 미량의 누수가 수개월에 걸쳐 누적되는 장기추세를 분석하여 누수탐사반의 투입 시점을 결정하기 위한 근거를 제시하기 위한 목적으로 사용되며, 아직까지 관 파손사고의 발생은 자체적인 감지보다는 민원에 의해 인지되는 경우가 많다. 최근, 스마트관망 구축사업(SWM) 등을 통해 관 파손 및 누수 감지를 위한 청음식 누수감지센서가 소블록 내 도입되고 있으나, 초기 시설투자에 큰 비용이 수반되며 주변 소음과 배터리 전원방식의 한계로 인하여 새벽 시간대에만 분석이 제한적으로 적용되는 경우가 많아 이 역시도 상시적인 관 파손사고의 감시기술이라 보기는 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 소블록 유입점에서의 유량·압력과 소블록 내에 설치된 대수용가 스마트미터, 그리고 사고감지를 위한 수압계 사이의 평상시 수리적 균형을 학습한 DNN(Deep Neural Network) 모델을 이용하여 관 파손사고를 실시간 감지하는 모델 개발연구를 수행하였다. 모델은 관 파손사고 감지를 위한 수압계의 최적 위치와 대수를 결정하기 위한 모듈과 관 파손사고 감지모듈로 구성되며, 1개 소블록 Test-Bed를 구축하여 모델을 생성하고 PDD 관망해석 모델을 통해 생성된 가상의 사고에 대한 감지 여부로서 개발 모델의 감지성능을 평가하였다.

  • According to 2008 statistics, there is a need for sailing lookout to minimize the ships collision that caused a secondary damage such as environment pollution and it happened 25 percentage rate. The aim of this study is to construct the object targeting system for notifying the sailing and ship information as monitoring the marine with CCTV having a zoom, rotation, and tile function. In this study we expected to induce the safety sailing by offering the CCTV automatic treatment.

  • 본 논문은 화학에서 사용되는 2가지 산, 염기 모델에 대한 이해를 높이고자 각 모델의 핵심 알고리즘가 반영된 단계별 교육용 콘텐츠를 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 Arrhenius와 Brønsted-Lowry 모델이 갖는 핵심 알고리즘을 탐색하였으며, 이러한 핵심 알고리즘을 반영된 단계별 교육용 콘텐츠를 JAVA를 이용하여 개발하였다. 개발된 교육용 콘텐츠는 총 5단계로 구성되어 있다. 1단계는 화학에서 다루어지는 입자들이 개별적으로 무작위하게 운동함으로 표현하였으며, 2단계는 화학반응이란 이러한 무작위적 운동 중 입자 간 충돌에 의해 반응이 개시됨을 보여주었다. 3단계에서는 단일입자에 대해 정반응과 역반응을 동시에 고려한 진행되는 상황을, 4단계는 여러 입자가 동시다발적으로 정반응과 역반응에 참여한 상황을 구현하였다. 마지막 5단계는 정반응과 역반응의 공존의 비율이 다른 상황을 통해 평형상수의 의미를 고찰하도록 하였다. 창발적 사고의 핵심은 여러 입자를 생각하는 확률적 사고와 이러한 여러 입자가 개별적으로 움직인다는 사고가 반영되어야 한다. 이 연구에서 개발한 교육콘텐츠를 활용한다면 학생들이 보다 창발적 사고를 하는데 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다.

An Analysis of Marine Casualty Reduction by SMART Navigation Service: Accident Vulnerability Monitoring System (SV10) (한국형 e-Navigation 서비스에 따른 해양사고 저감 효과 분석 - 사고취약선박 모니터링 지원 서비스(SV10)를 중심으로 -)

  • Marine casualties are caused mainly by collisions and grounding, due to human error. The SMART Navigation Service is preparing a measure to reduce marine casualties caused by human error and establish an LTE Accident Vulnerability Monitoring System (SV10) to evaluate the danger of collision or grounding for a vessel based on location information collected on land. This service will also share real-time vessel locations and danger information with related agencies to enable them to respond more quickly to accidents on land. In this study, statistical reports on marine casualties and investigation reports provided by the Korea Maritime Safety Tribunal are analyzed, so the percentage of marine casualties that could be reduced using the SV10 service could be identified.

Spatial clustering of pedestrian traffic accidents in Daegu (대구광역시 교통약자 보행자 교통사고 공간 군집 분석)

  • Korea, which has the highest pedestrian fatality rate among OECD countries, is making efforts to improve the safe walking environment by enacting laws focusing on pedestrian. Spatial clustering was conducted with scan statistics after examining the social network data related to traffic accidents for children and seniors. The word cloud was used to examine people's recognition Campaigns for children and literature survey for seniors were in main concern. Naedang and Yongsan are the regions with the highest relative risk of weak pedestrian for children and seniors. On the contrary, Bongmu and Beomeo are the lowest relative risk region. Naedang-dong and Yongsan-dong of Daegu Metropolitan City were identified as vulnerable areas for pedestrian safety due to the high risk of pedestrian accidents for children and the elderly. This means that the scan statistics are effective in searching for traffic accident risk areas.

Drawing Elements of Inquiry in Field Geology and Analyzing Field Geology Education in Previous Studies (야외 지질학 탐구 요소 추출 및 지질 답사 교육 문헌 분석)

  • This study is a research synthesis analyzing how field geology education is conducted in domestic and foreign countries in the recent 20 years and how it reflects the characteristics of authentic geologic inquiry. For these purposes, we first drew five elements of inquiry in field geology (observation, representation, abductive reasoning, spatial thinking, and diachronic thinking) considering the field geologists' actual research method as well as its pedagogical significance in science education. We developed analysis criteria for field geology education. The 53 cases were analyzed based on each element of inquiry in field geology and its sub-elements, and also the tendency of overall elements. As a result, observation and representation were included in most cases, but there appeared less frequency in order of abductive reasoning, spatial thinking, and diachronic thinking. For observation, the ratio of purposive observation and autonomous observation is high. For representation, both visualizing and linguistic type of representation and free-form representation appear frequently. For abductive reasoning, the step of generating hypothesis is often included and the hypothesis tends to be about the geological formatting process. For spatial thinking, type of self-location and perception of the spatial configuration of the structure appear at a high rate. For diachronic thinking, type of stratigraphic sequence is the most frequent. The proportions of the cases including three or more elements of inquiry in field geology consist 87% of the total. We suggested implications for improving geological fieldwork as authentic science inquiry in the future.
