Characteristics Analysis of Seasonal Construction Site Fall Accident using Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 활용한 계절별 건설현장 추락사고 특징 분석)

  • The death rate of industrial accidents per 10,000 people in Korea is two to three times higher than that of major countries. Falling accidents at the construction site happened to have caused the most deaths. Analysis of existing research and measures by national institutions showed that the industrial accident management concentrated on falling accidents was insufficient and the seasonal safety management measures were not enough. There is thus the need for research that provides detailed and enough information on falling accidents. This study, therefore, aims to overcome the limitations of existing research and safety management accident response using a methodology that provides the necessary information for the prevention of fall accidents by deriving seasonal crash characteristics of the construction site. In order to provide enough information, 387 cases of seasonal construction site falling were collected, which describes the causal relationship of accidents. Text mining using principal component analysis and cluster analysis was carried out. The analysis showed that: In the spring, snowfall and unreasonable operation of equipment including lifts were the major cause. In summer, most accidents were caused by form, insufficient safety inspection, and installation work. In autumn, weather factors such as wind and typhoon were the cause. In winter, material transportation, exterior wall work, and ignore safety precautions were the cause of the crash.

  • Various studies using accident cases are being conducted to identify the causes of accidents in the construction industry, but studies on the differences between public and private construction are insignificant. In this study, web scraping and text mining technologies were applied to analyze the causes of accidents by order type. Through statistical analysis and word cloud analysis of more than 10,000 structured and unstructured data collected, it was confirmed that there was a difference in the types and causes of accidents in public and private construction. In addition, it can contribute to the establishment of safety management measures in the future by identifying the correlation between major accident causes.

Accident Models of Circular Intersection by Cause Using ZAM (ZAM을 이용한 원형교차로 원인별 사고모형 개발)

  • This study deals with the traffic accidents of circular intersections in Korea. The goal of this study is to develop the traffic accident models using ZAM. The main results are as follows. First, in the case of 'violating the operational method of intersection', ZINB(zero-inflatednegative binomial) models were analyzed to be the best fit to the data. Second, in the case of' no maintaining the safe distance', ZINB models were also analyzed to be the best fit to the data. Finally, such the common variables as traffic volume and width of circular roadway were selected as the independent variables. The more traffic volume and the less width of circulatory roadway were evaluated to make the more accidents. Such the specific variables as the number of approach lanes and speed reduction facilities were selected as the explanatory variables. The more approach lanes and the less speed reduction facilities were evaluated to give the more accidents. This study might be expected to give some implications to the accident research on the circular intersections.

  • 본 연구에서는 2009년부터 5년간의 해양사고 유형별 원인분석을 통하여 사고의 주요 원인에 대해 분석하였고, 국내외 해양안정정보 사례에 대한 분석 및 국내 항해환경정보 제공 활용의 문제점과 국외 사례로부터의 시사점 도출을 통하여, 사고저감에 대한 대책으로 항해환경에 대한 정보의 통합 필요성, 이용자 정보중심의 정보제공의 필요성 등을 제안하였으며, 항해관련 안전정보들의 통합을 통한 이용자 중심의 배분을 위한 가칭 '통합 항해환경 정보제공시스템'을 제안하였다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to provide the effective safety management system to prevent similar chemical accidents through accident investigations. Method: Chemical accident prevention and response management systems at the central and local government levels were reviewed, Also, statistical data of chemical accidents occurred in the last 5 years were analyzed. In particular, Two accidents with high accident risk were analyzed. Result: Chemical accidents that have occurred in the last 5 years were analyzed to occur in the order of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and nitric acid, and concrete safety management improvement measures were derived through investigations of two causes. Conclusion: In this study, we proposed safety management plans in terms of technical and management aspects. The results of this study are expected to be used as effective in preventing and managing chemical accidents.

  • Accident type and/or factor identification is important in accident reduction planning. The aim of this paper is to apply the hierarchical approach with binomial distribution and logistic regression analysis to find out types and factors, respectively. Based on 2001 Suwon city black spot data, a binomial distribution modeling approach has been applied to diagnose the black spots, with the help of safety performance modeling approach has been applied to diagnose the black spots, with the help of safety performance function. Then, the logistic regression analysis has been employed to identify the critical factors. Some accident remedies are also reviewed in the light of the model outcomes. The proposed research framework sheds light on a different accident related research and can also be successfully applied to similar studies and sites.

해양사고예방 하급해기사 평가용 시뮬레이터 시스템 개발에 대한 연구

  • 해양사고의 원인을 파악하기 위해 해양사고 관련자의 특성(연령별, 해기면허별)을 분석해보면, 상급 항해사가 관련된 사고는 33.5%이며, 하급 항해사가 관련된 사고는 64.1%로 항해사의 급수별로 해양사고 관련 비율에 차이가 있으며, 특히 하급 항해사가 관련된 해양사고의 비율이 상급 항해사와 비교할 때 상대적으로 높았다. 이러한 하급해기사 면허 소자자의 경우 그 동안 상급 해기사 면허 소지자에 비해 해기교육을 이수할 기회가 적었으므로, 기초적인 부분에 대한 교육이 먼저 이루어져아 할 것으로 판단된다. 그러므로, 이러한 기초적인 부분에 대한 교육을 수행할 수 있는 사무실 환경에 보급이 가능한 보급형 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발이 필요하다. 이에, 하급 항해사의 과실에 의해 발생되는 사고를 줄일 수 있도록 비교적 영세한 해운업체에도 보급이 가능한 하급 해기사 평가용 시뮬레이션 시스템을 개발하였다.

  • The marine accident investigation of Korea Marine Safety Tribunal does not keep up with the international rule and guideline. Also there is no proper investigation manual. This study analyzed the investigation system and manual of Korea. USA and Japan etc., and proposed the newly investigation system and manual of KMST including the classfication guideline of marine accident investigation and analysis.

A Case Study and Analysis of the Causes for Natural Gas Vehicle Accidents (천연가스자동차 사고사례 및 원인분석)

  • I collected the cases of CNG vehicle accidents which had happened for 30 years and analyzed the causes of the accidents according to each type of cylinders. There are about six accidents including three cylinder explosion accidents due to bad heat treatment, one composite damage, one CNG vehicle fire, and one fuel piping accident owing to the poor maintenance. When looking into the cylinder types involved in the accidents and the causes, 29% of the cylinder accidents are Type I and 24% Type IV, 16% Type II, and 14% Type III. 37% of the accidents are caused by the defects of the raw materials and the errors of a manufacturing process, 16% by the stress corrosion cracking as a result of the repetitive use, 15% by the cylinder's explosion on account of the malfunction of PRD(Pressure Relief Device) and the overpressure. The remainders of the causes are fire and unknown causes. Therefore, cylinder manufacturers have to strengthen quality management of raw materials and manufacturing process and painting regardless of each type of cylinder. Also bus operators need to make an effort to keep safety condition through every day check.

흡착재를 사용한 기름회수기 개발의 기초연구

  • 환경문제에 관한 관심이 급속히 증가하고 있는 가운데, 1995년 여름 유조선 씨 프린스호의 여천 앞바다 좌초로 다량의 기름이 유출되었다. 이 사고 이후 두달이 채 지나기도 전에 유조선 제1유일호가 부산 앞바다에서 침몰하는 사고가 발생했다. 통계1)에 의하면, 1991년 1월부터 1995년 9월말까지 우리나라 연안에서 총 1,583 건의 오염사고가 발생하였고, 유출량은 22,541톤, 피해금액 3,231억원으로 집계되었다. 해양오염사고중 기름에 의한 오염사호는 총발생건수의 92%로 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 배출원인은 선박사고가 전체 발생건수의 87%, 육상 및 해양시설에 의한 사고가 10.5%, 배출원인 불명이 2.5%였다. 오염물질 중 기름의 종류별 유출랑은 경유 6,509톤, 벙커유 3,928톤, 선저폐수 759톤으로, 경유가 가장 많고 다음으로 벙커유가 많았다. 해상 기름유출사호는 기름운반선 등에 의해 하루에 한번 꼴로 크고 작은 기름유출사고를 일으키고 있으며, 발생건수가 매년 증가하고 있다. 우리나라 연안에서의 유류 해상 수송량 증가와 선박의 대형화로 대형기름유출사고의 발생 가능성이 잠재하고 있다.
