Developing the Accident Injury Severity on a Field of Construction Work Using Ordered Probit Model (순서형 프로빗 모형을 적용한 공사장 교통 사고심각도 분석)

  • The traffic accidents at a construction site, which happen due to construction vehicles' frequent access to a construction site, its subsequent conflicts with ordinary vehicles and pedestrians, and inappropriate installation & management of traffic security facilities, have not many proportions in all traffic accidents, but obviously, the accident damage is quite serious when comparing the level of the fatal per one accident. This research conducted an analysis of traffic accident injury severity using Ordered Probit Model in relation to 241 traffic accident cases that occurred caused by construction sites among the traffic accidents that took place in Seoul and Gyeoggi-do region for two years from 2006 until 2007. As a result, the significant variables enough to explain traffic accident injury severity were analyzed to be the state of road surface, linear shape of an accident spot & whether the damaging car belongs to the vehicle for construction, and whether vehicles have access to a construction site at the time of an accident. Through this, this research found out some fact as follows: first, there need to be more aggressive management of the vehicles for construction and a year-round placement of the manpower who can control vehicular access to a construction site. Second, it is necessary to get drivers to recognize the fact that there exists a construction site on the construction section which is on the border of curved roads in advance to prevent a traffic accident, helping to reduce socioeconomic loss & costs incurred by a traffic accident.

A Study on Occupational Stress of the VTS Operators (해상교통관제사의 스트레스 수준 측정에 관한 연구)

  • VTS operators may suffer from acute, chronic, or traumatic stress caused by their workload and working environments associated with task or combination of task. This study intended to measure the level of VTS operator' stress and find out factors influencing it by understanding their characteristics during carrying out their task. For this purpose, analyzed the data collected through conducting survey on VTS operators as the Korea Occupational Stress(KOSS) and Psychological Well-being Index(PWI). As a result, VTS operators are experiencing higher level of psychological stress than the national average. And the factors to cause VTS operators' occupational stress can be summarized as follows; working environment factors, shift work especially night duty, workload, etc. This study provides the fundamental information for understanding human factors of VTS operator' occupational stress.

Numerical Analysis of Flow and Bed Changes for Selecting Optimized Section of Buried Water Pipeline Crossing the River (하천을 횡단하는 도수관로의 최적 매설구간 선정을 위한 흐름 및 하상변동 수치모의)

  • A water pipeline buried under the riverbed could be exposed by bed erosion, therefore safe crossing sections should be analyzed for preventing damages due to the exposure of pipelines. In this study, flow and bed changes have been simulated using a two-dimensional numerical model for selecting the optimized section of pipeline crossing in the Geum River. As a result of simulation with the 20-year recurrence flood, sediment deposition has been distributed overall in the channel and bed erosion over 2 m has occurred near bridge piers. For the extreme flood simulation, the channel bed near the bridge piers has been eroded down to the buried depth. Therefore, within 140 m upstream of the bridge piers, bed erosion affects a buried pipeline in safety due to bridge pier effects and the crossing section over 150 m upstream of bridge piers is selected as a safe zone of a water pipeline.

Influence of Parental Socioeconomic Status on Stress, Depression and Suicidal Ideation among Korean Adolescents (부모의 사회 경제적 지위가 청소년의 스트레스, 우울, 자살생각에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to examine the relationship between suicidal ideation, depression, stress and their parent's socioeconomic status. Nation-wide representative data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2009 were used in this study. 904 adolescents with parent were analysed. Parent's socioeconomic status, especially mother's low educational level and the beneficiaries for national basic livelihood security were significant risk factor for adolescents' suicidal ideation. These associations remained significant in multiple logistic regression controlling for all covariates. The findings in the current study support the global literature on the importance of socioeconomic status in promoting adolescent's mental health. Future prevention intervention efforts to improve adolescent's suicide risk will need to take into consideration parent's and household's socioeconomic conditions. Future study is needed to explore the possible proximal risk factors and mediators between parent's socioeconomic status and mental health among adolescents.

A STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF CENTRIC RELATION OCCLUSION-MAXIMUM INTERCUSPATION DISCREPANCIES TO DENTAL WEAR (중심위 교합-최대교두감합위 불일치가 치아 마모에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • 치아경조직의 소실은 반드시 치아우식증이나 사고에 의해서만 일어나는 것이 아니라 마모에 의해서도 일어난다. 마모에 영향을 미치는 인자들은 시간/나이, 성별, 이갈이와 같은 과기능, 저작력, 위장관장애, 음식물, 환경적인 영향, 타액의 상태 그리고 교합적인 조건들이 있다. 한편 중심위와 최대교두감합위 불일치가 악구강계에 미치는 영향에 관해서는 아직도 논란이 분분하다. 본 연구의 목적은 중심위와 최대교두감합위의 불일치가 치아마모에 미치는 영향과 중심위에서 제일 먼저 닿는 치아와 나머지 치아의 마모에 있어서 차이에 대해서 알아 보는 것이다. 본 연구는 두개하악관절과 저작습관에 이상이 없으며, 식이습관에 문제가 없으며 치아우식증과 치주질환, 수복물, 교정 또는 교합치료의 경험이 없는 21세에서 25세 사이의 서울대학교 치과대학생을 대상으로 하였다. 교합기를 이용하여 중심위 교합-최대교두교두감합위 불일치를 조사하여, 중심위 교합-최대교두감합위가 불일치가 작은 군과 큰 군으로 나누었다. 각 군은 각각 10명의 피검자들로 구성되었다. 각 피검자의 인상채득 후 CR mounting을 시행하고 중심위교합-최대감합위 불일치를 측정한 다음 임상검사로 ordinal scale을 측정하고 모형을 통해 arbitrary scale을 측정하였다. 평균치아마모도 그리고 중심위에서 먼저 닿는 치아와 나머지 치아, 나머지 구치의 마모도를 각각 조사하여 통계처리하였다. 1. 평균치아마모도는 ordinal scale로 측정하였을 때 중심위 교합-최대교두감합위 불일치가 작은 군과 큰 군 사이에 통계적으로 유의할만한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05) 2. 평균치아마모도는 arbitrary scale로 측정하였을 때 중심위 교합-최대교두감합위 불일치가 작은 군과 큰 군 사이에 통계적으로 유의할만한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 3. CR에서 먼저 닿는 치아와 나머지 치아, 나머지 구치의 마모도는 ordinal scale로 측정하였을 때 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다(p>0.05). 4. CR에서 먼저 닿는 치아와 나머지 치아, 나머지 구치의 마모도는 arbitrary scale로 측정하였을 때 먼저 닿는 치아에서 통계적으로 유의한 높은 수준의 마모도를 보였다(p<0.05).

Analysis of Position Accuracy for Underground Facility Using RTK-GPS (RTK-GPS를 이용한 지하시설물의 위치 정확도 분석)

  • The complicated facilities on the ground have begun to be laid under the ground as increasing emphasis on the beauty of cities due to centralization. But, as the kind of the facilities have been concentrated on the narrow area, accidents occur due to the difficulty of maintenance and the inaccuracy of location information. In this study, first we constructed the field test model to compare with the method of underground probing. So, we could know that the electromagnetic induction method and GPR(Ground Penetration Radar) are useful. It was acquired the position information for the underground facilities using a RTK-GPS. As the result, we have analyzed the accurate position of the underground facility and show the way improving accuracy in detecting and surveying comparing with the traditional surveying method. Also, we hope to contribute the effective maintenance and prevention of disasters to the underground facility as using underground facilities 3D position with Arcview and building the DB of exact depth and underground facilities information system.

Performance Evaluation of Search Robot Prototypes for Special Disaster Areas (특수재난지역 정찰로봇 시제품의 성능평가연구)

  • Recently, three kinds of search robot prototypes were developed to assume the role of fire fighters for search and rescue missions in special disaster areas with high heat, smoke, toxic gases, or radioactivity. To accomplish search missions, these robots should be able to endure heat, overcome various obstacles, suppress fires, and see through dense smoke. This study investigated the heat resistance, practicality, and fire fighting capacity of these robots. The results show that the small and middle-sized robots were resistant to surrounding temperatures of $100{\sim}200^{\circ}C$, and the fire-fighter-riding robot could endure up to $500^{\circ}C$ for half an hour. The fire-fighter-riding robot showed excellent extinguishing performance on an A-10 class fire model, which was extinguished within 3 min. The robots also showed various capacities for overcoming obstacles and are expected to play an active role in various special disaster areas.

  • 서낙동강은 유역면적이 $304.1\;km^2$이고, 유로연장이 18.5 km로서 유역형상이 방사상과 우상의 혼합상으로 비교적 구형을 이루고 있으며, 유역의 평균폭은 동서방향으로 $17{\sim}20\;km$, 남북방향으로는 약 18 km정도이다. 연평균강수량은 1,349 mm이다. 서낙동강은 상류에는 대저수문, 하류에는 녹산수문이 위치하고 있으며, 이와 같은 수문들에 의하여 하천의 유량이 조절되는 호소형 하천이다. 홍수시 유역의 60% 이상이 침수되는 수해 상습지구에 해당되며, 대저수문과 녹산수문에 의해 조절되고 있어 자연적인 하천흐름이 원활하지 않은 정체수역이다. 따라서 장기간 오염물질이 퇴적되고 있으며, 이로 말미암아 수질오염이 매우 심한 곳이기도 하다. 따라서 수문에 의해 조절되는 하천에서는 적절한 하천유지유량의 확보는 물론이고, 하천의 수질악화를 고려한 하천운영 기법의 도입이 절실히 요구되고 있다. 특히, 최근에 화두가 되고 있는 유역의 수량과 수질의 통합 관리를 실현하기 위해서도 하천의 수질뿐만 아니라 어류의 서식환경까지도 고려한 수문 운영기술의 개발이 요구된다. 서낙동강의 수문 개방시기에 맞춰 수질분석을 한 뒤 개방 전, 후의 수질결과를 비교 분석해야 한다. 이와 함께 낙동강 본류의 수질도 함께 분석하여 서낙동강 수질 개선에 필요한 수문운영 방안을 도출해야한다. 수문운영자와 하천수 이용자들은 갈수기 하천 수질악화, 오염물질 누출사고 등이 발생할 때 하천 수질개선 효과를 극대화하기 위해서는 보다 많은 유입량을 취수하여 서낙동강에 통수해야 하는데, 이는 향후 녹산수문의 배수펌프장을 활용하면 가능할 수 있을 것으로 판단되며, 이를 위해서는 낙동강 하구언의 수량감소 문제와 방류량 증가에 따른 녹산수문 하류측의 외해에 대한 환경영향도 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 서낙동강의 수질관리 방안을 도출하기 위하여 수문 유입량 및 방류량 변화에 따른 하천수질 변화를 측정 자료 분석을 통해 수행하였다. 본 연구결과는 향후 동적 수질모형 연구에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this study, we have investigated several input factors and output factors to maintain safety management of domestic shipping companies, and then have analyzed the efficiency of performance about each shipping companies' safety management system from 1998 year to 2004 year using DEA method. The result of analysis shows that the annual mean efficiency index of total companies tended downward every year. Analysis was that the cause was increase of the cost of repairing ship, the cost of ship's stores and idle day of ship while the number of marine accidents and sanctions of PSC, ship's insurances and P&I insurances was decreased.

  • This study concerns with comparing low-dimensional reactor kinetics methods with a three-dimensional kinetics method to be used for safety analysis of light water reactors in order to suggest means of preparing input parameters required for low-dimensional methods. For this purpose a one-dimensional finite difference two-group diffusion theory code ODTRAN and a third-order Hermit polynomial-based point kinetics code POTRAN are developed and used to obtain low-dimensional solutions to the LRA-BWR kinetics benchmark problem. The results are compared with a three-dimensional modified Borresen's coarse-mesh solution of the kinetics problem by CMSNACK code. Through this comparison some simple but practical means of preparing input parameters of low-dimensional kinetics analysis methods are suggested.
