We introduce Gaussian (or paraxial) optics that can be successfully applied to design, for use in a color analyzer, a non-imaging optical system on a measurement probe for LCD display. The color analyzer is used to decompose colored lights leaving from some measurement area on the LCD display to red, green, and blue. The color analyzer must include a condenser lens whose purpose is to gather colored lights to illuminate a small area on the sensor. In order to satisfy a reduction ratio between the measurement area and the sensing area with a non-imaging condition, a condenser lens is analytically treated by means of Gaussian optics so that good understanding of the non-imaging condenser lens is achieved as a good design is derived. As a result, the technique shows the necessity of analytical treatment in contrast to the design approach using only commercial software such as CODE-V, Light-Tools, and others. Of course, CODE V and Light-Tools are also utilized in this paper to confirm and complete the Gaussian optical design.
In general, a lens with large NA makes image quality better. There are many kinds of cheap concave mirrors with large aperture and NA. This paper presents a method that uses a large aperture projection imaging system to enhance the image used for 3D shape measurement. This method makes it possible to enhance reflection uniformity on the object surface and increases SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). Using a large aperture lens, it is possible to obtain a brighter image, reducing the shading nature in the image boundary, and enhancing the reflection uniformity even on woven surfaces. Because of the exorbitant cost of a large aperture projection lens larger than 150 mm in diameter, a refractive lens was exchanged with a concave mirror resulting in the same optical effect. In experiment, changing NA $0.15{\sim}0.8$, image contrast was enhanced from 46 to 1.33. Incidentally, the effect of the concave mirror was tested successfully through the experiment.
A Netspec lens has the form having the 2-dimensional mesh coating on a general ophthalmic lens. It is known that it makes the ophthalmic image see more clearly, reducing the ophthalmic fatigue and that the transmittance of it for ultraviolet and infrared rays is lower. We need to prove this characteristic scientifically. So, in this study, we applied the Kirchhoff's scalar wave theory to the Netspec lens and induced a transmittance expression. And we made the program of which simulation can explain the transmittance effect of the Netspec lens. Also, we tried the interpreting about the result of the simulation. Finally, we have known that this simulation program can be used to adjust the transmittance of the light according to the wavelength.
In this study, we present a fully automated system that combines camera technology with liquid crystal technology to create a polarization camera capable of detecting the partial linear polarization of light reflected from an object. The use of twisted nematic (TN) liquid crystals that electro-optically modulate the polarization plane of light eliminates the need to mechanically rotate the polarizing filter in front of the camera lens. Images obtained using these techniques are imaged by computer software. In addition, liquid crystal panels have been produced in a square shape, but many camera lenses are usually round, and lighting or other driving units are installed around the lens, so space is optimized through the application of a circular liquid crystal display. Through the development of this technology, an electrically switchable and space-optimized liquid crystal polarizer is developed.
In this paper, we propose the development of a small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens module. The proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens module consists of a small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution(4MegaPixel) lens optical system, a 15mm image sensor unit, and a small $360^{\circ}$ mouth scanner lens external shape. A small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution lens optical system produces a total of nine lenses, the outer diameter of the lens not less than 15mm for use by children through the ages of adulthood. Light drawn by a small $360^{\circ}$ high resolution lens optical system is $90^{\circ}$ flexion so that image images are delivered to image sensors. The 15mm image sensor unit sends the converted value to the ISP(Image Signal Processor) of the embedded board after an image array through the column and the row address of the image sensor. The small $360^{\circ}$ mouth scanner lens outer shape was designed to fix the race to the developed lens. Results from authorized testing agencies to assess the performance of proposed small $360^{\circ}$ oral scanner lens modules, The optical resolving power of $360^{\circ}$ lens was more than 30% at 150 cycles/mm, $360^{\circ}$ lens angle was $360^{\circ}$ in vertical direction, $42^{\circ}{\sim}85^{\circ}$ in vertical direction, and lens distortion rate was 5% or less. It produced the same result as the world's highest level.
The spherical lens is typically classified by the refractive power into two groups such as (+) diopter lens and (-) diopter lens. The deformation occurred by the external force that is applied to a lens is caused by the increase or the decrease in the diopter of a lens. In this paper, the deformation of the lens was quantitatively measured by using ESPI (Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry) which have been used in the optical measurement field for past few years. ESPI has an advantage that the deformation of an object can be measured precisely by using coherence of the light. The experiment was carried out to the totally 16 types of plastic lens. It was confirmed that the deformation was decreased by increasing the diopter of the lens when same displacement was applied to the lens in case of (+) diopter lens and was increased by decreasing the diopter of the lens in case of (-) diopter lens. Also, it was found that the deformation of (+) diopter lens is less than that of (-) diopter lens. Therefore, with these results, it is expected that the possibility of the quantitative measurement for variation of the optical defect caused by the deformation of a lens when the deformation is occurred to the various types of the lens can be presented and that the application in the lens industrial field can be performed.
