A Study for Optimization of Armed Flight Test Ammunition Requirement for the Development of Attack Helicopter (공격헬기 개발을 위한 무장 비행시험 탄약발수 최적화 연구)

  • Developments in aircraft require safety verification through flight testing for many hours with prototype design and production. The test evaluation step of performing flight tests was an important process that determines the success in the development of the system. In particular, safety development through flight tests in the armed flight test is important for the development of attack helicopters. In the development of attack helicopters, the evaluation period and cost related to the armed flight test are closely related to the required ammunition requirement. Therefore, this paper presents the amount of ammunition required for the military flight test between attack helicopter developments through an analysis of the AH-1 helicopter in a similar case and ADS-44-HDBK of military specification. The AH-1 can be used to calculate the ammunition demand by considering the exclusion of redundant firing tests and configuration differences. In the case of the machine gun-equipped configuration, approximately 10,500R was required, and approximately 324R was required in the case of a rocket-mounted configuration. In addition, if the armed integrated bench is used properly, it is expected to promote efficiently the flight test in the armed flight by identifying the possible risk factors with armed flight tests and excluding them.

A Study on Applicability of Low-Density Surface Film Copper Mesh for Aircraft (저밀도 표면필름 구리망의 비행체 적용 가능성 연구)

  • In this paper, the applicability of the low-density surface film copper mesh for aircraft applications have been analyzed. Recently, low-density surface film copper mesh is developed to reduce weight and cost compared with traditional surface film copper mesh. In order to apply low-density surface film copper mesh to aircraft, it is needed to analyze its electromagnetic effects as well as structural integrity with sandwich panels to prevent pinholes. The structural integrity and electromagnetic characteristics have been analyzed for 2 samples of low-density surface film copper mesh and 1 sample of surface film copper mesh. To review the applicability of the low-density surface film, it is combined with sandwich composite panel to confirm pinhole effects. The low-density surface film has been modeled as a periodic structure and analyzed with 3D electromagnetic simulation tool. The simulation results has been verified through measured electromagnetic transmission results using free space measurements. From the results, it will be possible to use these results for the analysis and the applicability of low-density surface film copper mesh for aircraft.

  • The significance of pilots' fatigue and the attributed risk management had continuously increased over time as the airline industry expanded. Research and legislation efforts associated with pilot fatigue are being taking place actively all over the world. In the developed world such as the United States and European Union etc., the airline pilot fatigue is already being managed by considering the show up time, the number of take offs and landings made, resting period, jet lag etc., when computing flight duty time. In Korea, the flight duty time is only limited by the total number of hours per given period regardless of the flight conditions and environment. Such lack of regulation demand development of a fatigue management program. According to the survey taken from the airline pilots in Korea, it has been found that acquiring foreign policies directly may in turn, increase the risk of fatigue. This research suggest future studies regarding fatigue management program adapted exclusively to Korean domestic flight environment and culture.

  • In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) were actively developed in various fields. In development process of UAVs, flight test is performed to ensure that minimum safety requirements and technical requirements are met. By constructing flight test infrastructure such as takeoff and landing facilities, operation procedure, and equipments, flight test can be performed effectively. In this paper, operation procedures of civil UAV's flight test are proposed. The procedures proposed are composed by two main steps: first, planning and permitting procedure of flight test. Secondly, execution and control procedure of flight test.

  • 우주발사체의 비행 목표는 위성의 궤도 투입이다. 이를 위해서는 발사체에서 요구되는 추력값과 총추력을 보장하는 추진기관이 개발되어야 한다. 엔진은 엔진 자체의 작동 안정성을 위해서 유량제어를 필요로 하지만, 이뿐만이 아니라, 발사체의 비행임무 수행을 위해서도 추진제가 모두 소진되는 시스템(TDS:Tank Depletion System) 개념이 도입되어야 하며, 이는 유량 제어를 통해서 실현된다. 본 연구에서는 우주발사체의 비행임무 수행에 필요한 즉, 총추력 오차 범위, 추력 오차 범위, 추진제 탑재량 및 잔류량 오차범위 관점에서 필요한 추진기관에 요구되는 성능을 검토하였고, 이를 위해 TDS 개념의 도입과 더불어 이를 구현할 수 있는 유량제어 개념을 제시하였다.

단일 안테나 GPS수신기 기반 무인항공기의 자동 이착륙

  • GPS수신기는 항법센서로서 여러 분야에서 널리 사용되고 있다. 단일 안테나 GPS수신기로부터 일반적으로 위치와 속도 및 시간 정보를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 고정익 항공기의 운동 특성을 고려하여 단일 안테나 GPS수신기의 측정치로부터 무인항공기의 자세를 추정할 수 있다. 이로써 단일안테나 GPS수신기를 이용하여 무인항공기의 자동 제어가 가능함을 이전 논문에서 보인 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 단일 안테나 GPS수신기를 무인항공기의 기본 센서로 사용하여 자동 이착륙이 가능함을 비행실험을 통해 보인다. 무인항공기의 반응속도와 강건성을 향상시키기 위해 rate gyros의 각속도 측정치를 이용한다. 또한 활주로에 자동착륙하기 위해서는 높은 정확도의 위치 정보가 필요하므로 DGPS를 이용하였다. 비행 실험 동안 무인항공기는 이륙에서 착륙까지 모든 과정을 자동 제어로 수행한다. 대부분 비행은 경로 제어로 이루어진다. 비행 실험 결과를 바탕으로 단일안테나 GPS수신기가 General Aviation 항공기나 무인항공기의 백업이나 저가의 제어 시스템을 위한 주 센서로서 사용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Photogrammetric Techniques for Safe Separation Flight Test (안전분리 비행시험을 위한 사진계측 기법)

  • Photogrammetric techniques were used to analyze separation characteristics of store in safe separation flight test. In this analysis, we used single camera method to analyze 6 degrees of freedom of separated store. We established instrumentation requirements based on theoretical background of photogrammetry and guidelines of MIL-HDBK-1763. We applied the photogrammetry to flight test and extracted separation trajectory. We empirically estimated the input variables uncertainties of photogrammetry and its effects on separation trajectory. Using this trajectory which includes the photogrammetric error, we analyzed the safety of separation.

Implementation of CWP MRT Data Processing Module for Efficient Correlating Flight Plan (효율적인 비행계획 연관을 위한 CWP MRT 데이터 처리 모듈 구현)

  • It is very important to correlate flight plan for safe and prompt ATC(air traffic control) operation. In this paper, we design CWP(controller working position) MRT(multi radar tracking) processing module to achieve improvement of overall ATC automation system's performance by minimizing network traffic overload when correlating MRT with flight plan. This implemented module can guarantee efficiency and safety of ATC automation system by applying distributed correlated manner, and reduce network usage by using encoded flight plan correlated MRT data format. We found that this module has 8.54~12.11% lower network usage and 8.37~11.27% higher network traffic fairness than the module using standalone manner.

우리나라의 공역관리 개선방안

  • 우리나라가 관할하는 공역의 넓이는 약 40만$\textrm{km}^2$로 주한미군이 1952년부터, 국방부가 1958년부터 관리해 오다가 1995년에 건설교통부가 공역관리 업무를 인수하였다. 우리나라의 공역(대구 FIR)에는 비행금지구역, 비행제한구역, 위험구역, 경제구역, 훈련구역, 군작전구역 등 무려 114개의 특수목적 공역이 설정되어 있어 민항공기의 운항이 자유롭지 못하다. 또한 내륙을 중심으로 14개의 접근관제규역이 설정되어 있고 각기 관할구역에 대하여 배타적인 권리를 행사함으로써 신공항건설에 따라 운항이 필요한 소요공역 확보에도 애로가 많은 실정이다. 항로는 국내항로 5개, 국제항로 11개 등 모두 16개의 항로를 운영하고 있으나 대부분 한 개의 항로를 양방향으로 운영하고 있어 교통량 처리가 어려운 실정이고 항공교통량 전체의 75%가 수도권으로 집중되는 현상이 나타나 안전도 확보에도 지장을 주고 있다. 우리나라는 군사적 특수성 때문에 군의 작전비행 활동이 상당히 많으나 관제 및 비행절차에 관한 규정을 군과 민이 각각 달리 운영하고 있는 문제점들이 있다. 금번 세미나에서는 군의 작전활동을 유지하면서 민 항공의 안전성, 경제성 등을 확보하기 위하여 1)국제민간항공기가 제정한 공역등급화(ATS Air Space Spacification)방안, 2)접근관제구역의 조정개선 방안 3)특수공역의 합리적 운영방안, 4)항로의 적선화, 복수의 일방통행 항로 확보 및 국제연결 항로의 다양한 방안, 5)군민간의 관제규정의 일원화 방안 등을 제안하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the current technical status and future prospects regarding helicopter simulators. In the introduction section, we briefly summarize the concept of the simulator and the development history of helicopter simulators. In the main section, the development status of helicopter simulation technology is first presented and the FAA/EASA certification is then introduced as a verification method for the reliability evaluation of the developed simulator technology. In addition, several issues that need to be resolved along with future development directions are discussed to improve the reliability of helicopter flight simulator.
