A New Suggestion on the Bayesianism Problem for Epistemic Dogmatism (인식적 독단론에 제기되는 베이즈주의적 비판에 대한 새로운 제안)

  • Epistemic dogmatism claims that if it seems P to you then you have immediate justification to believe P. The view has been faced with a problem that it is incompatible with Bayesianism, especially raised by Roger White(2006). James Pryor(2013), defending epistemic dogmatism, has given a reply for the problem. In this paper, first, I show some problems on Pryor's reply. Then, I present a new kind of suggestion to deal with the problem, which avoids problems Pryor's reply has. Finally, I suggest a different diagnosis on the problem.

  • 필자는 이 글에서 박병철의 저서 Phenomenological Aspects of Wittgenstein's Philosophy (Kluwer 1998)에 대한 박정일 박사의 서평과 김영건 박사의 비판에 대한 반론을 제시하고 있다. 먼저 현상학과 현상론의 구분이 불분명하다는 비판에 대한 반론에서 시작하여, 유아론에 대한 비판을 반박하고 있으며, "논리-철학 논고"에서의 대상의 본성에 대한 견해도 밝히고 있다. 필자는 무엇보다도 자신의 시도가 여전히 불투명한 비트겐슈타인의 철학을 놓고 벌어지는 다양한 해석의 스펙트럼의 한 부분을 이룰 수 있을 것이라고 주장한다.

Critical Thinking Disposition, Problem Solving Process, and Simulation- Based Assessment of Clinical Competence of Nursing Students in Pediatric Nursing (간호대학생의 비판적 사고성향, 문제해결과정 정도 및 아동간호 시뮬레이션 기반 임상수행능력)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the correlation of critical thinking disposition and problem solving process, and the simulation- based assessment of clinical competence based on a survey of college nursing students. Methods: In this descriptive correlation study, data for 214 nursing students were analyzed using t-test and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Critical thinking disposition, problem solving process, and simulation-based assessment of clinical competence averaged $3.76{\pm}0.46$ (out of 5), $3.67{\pm}0.47$ (5), and $1.51{\pm}0.17$ (2), respectively. A significant difference in scores for simulation-based assessment of clinical competence was found between the high-scoring group and low-scoring group in critical thinking disposition. A significant positive correlation was found between critical thinking disposition and nursing assessment, a sub-domain of clinical competence. Conclusion: The results suggest that success in simulation-based learning requires critical thinking disposition in the nursing students, and their critical thinking disposition plays a positive role in nursing assessment, which evaluates the patient's status in a complex situation. Simulation-based learning programs help assess the students' levels in their clinical judgement and performance, and identify their strengths and weaknesses so that the instructor can evaluate and improve the current teaching method.

Direction of Praxis of Home Economics Education for the Transformation of Future Society Drawn from the Habermas's Critical Theory (Habermas의 비판이론에 기초한 미래 사회 변혁을 이끄는 가정교육학의 실천 방향 탐색)

  • This study aims to examine the prospecting view of future society from a critical perspective, and to explore the direction of home economics education that can lead to transformation of future society from Habermas's critical theory. For this, Habermas's critical theory was understood, and the direction was explored in which field should act to guide future society when home economics education took a critical science perspective. Direction for praxis of home economics education was explored in both lifeworld and system area of society based on the critical theory that individuals, families and society are mutually beneficial and continue through interactions. The praxis of home economics education from a critical science perspective has been found through examples of IFHE's advocacy and policy participation activities. In conclusion, it supported the reason that home economics education as a critical science should form a social, political and economic system as well as lifeworld with valued human conditions and practice professional activities in academic, daily life and societal areas which will lead to the critical and participatory changes in individual and family life.

Study on Social Studies Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Ability Improvement through Utilizing Digital Textbooks (디지털교과서 활용을 통한 사회과 비판적사고력 및 문제해결력 신장에 관한 연구)

  • The dissemination of smart appliances, along with the development of the latest information and communication technology has an effect on society. Their application can be seen in the smart learning environment, by use of digital textbooks with smart devices in the classroom. Hence in this study, the 4L-ACC activity using digital textbooks was applied in the third grade social studies class to improve critical thinking and problem solving skills of elementary school students. This study compared and analyzed the impact in critical thinking and problem-solving skills using digital textbooks versus standard social studies classes. As a result, in social studies classes that used the 4L-ACC activity compared to common social studies classes, elementary student's problem understanding, critical thinking, problem resolution, reflective thinking, and all lower areas of critical thinking and problem-solving were improved. In conclusion, using digital textbooks enhance student's ability to think critically and problem solve. This should provide learners a more comprehensive learning experience and therefore be integrated into more education environment.

A Critique on the Critical Communication Studies and Journalism Focused on the Neoliberalism in Korea (신자유주의에 대한 언론과 비판언론학 비판)

  • The purpose of this essay explores a critical review of the critical communication studies and Journalism focused on the neoliberalism in Korea. The majority of social member in Korea does not know the concept of neoliberalism, and just recognize it as a 'global standard.' This essay is analyzing Korean journalism which causes this phenomenon primarily. Nonetheless, the critical communication studies was negligent in criticism on journalism. Any research paper in was not analyzed the connection between neoliberalism and journalism At last this essay proposed that the critical communication studies should establish their identity themselves to critically analyze the journalism trying to protect the neoliberalism in one way, and become more critical to the press itself to raise the relationship with journalism spot.

Mediating Effect of Self-Leadership and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy on the Relation between Critical Thinking Disposition and Career Preparation Behavior in Nursing Students (간호대학생의 비판적 사고성향과 진로준비행동 간의 관계에서 셀프리더십과 진로결정 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • This study examined the evidence on how self-leadership and career decision-making self-efficacy scale can produce a mediating effect on the relation between critical thinking disposition and career preparation behavior of nursing students. The subjects were college students majoring in nursing in Gwangju. The data collected was for 263 such students. It was analyzed with SPSS 23.0 for windows. To examine the mediating effect, the study used Sobel. The findings were as follows. First, critical thinking disposition positively influences career preparation behavior of nursing students. Secondly, self-leadership and career decision-making self-efficacy show a complete mediating effect on the relation between critical thinking disposition and career preparation behavior in nursing students. These findings suggest that in order to promote career preparation behavior of nursing students, educational programs should improve subjects on critical thinking disposition. It also suggests self-leadership and career decision self-efficacy should be provided in nursing education field.
