Factors Associated with Critical Thinking Disposition in Dental Hygiene Students (치위생(학)과 학생의 비판적 사고 성향과 관련 요인)

  • Critical thinking is recognized as core competency for dental hygiene practice. The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship between critical thinking disposition and grade, types of educational programs and satisfaction with interpersonal relationship, major, clinical practice. Total 909 students in associate and baccalaureate dental hygiene educational program completed self-reported questionnaire on critical thinking disposition inventory developed by Yoon(2004). The mean score for critical thinking disposition was 3.38~3.39 on a 5 point scale. There was no difference in critical thinking disposition scores between students of associate and baccalaureate programs. There was no difference in critical thinking disposition scores between grade of students. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between critical thinking disposition and satisfaction with interpersonal relationship and major. Multivariate analysis of variance(MANOVA) revealed that all subscales for three groups according to satisfaction with interpersonal relationship were significantly different(Pillai's trace=0.075, F(14,1782)=4.979, p<0.001) and all subscales for three groups according to satisfaction with major were significantly different(Pillai's trace=0.035, F(14,1728)=2.257, p=0.005).

  • This study was conducted to explore the impact of learning strategies on the level of participation in the online collaborative learning process. To do this, We studied 91 students who took professorship courses at A university in the Seoul metropolitan area. At the beginning of the semester, the learning strategies were measured through MSLQ, rehearsal, elaboration, organizing, critical thinking, metacognition, learning management, effort control, peer learning, and seeking help. Next, cooperative tasks were carried out to measure the interaction, and group composition consisted of 4-5 persons. The level of participation was measured by scores given to the messages created for interaction. The process of collaborative learning was divided into the steps of identifying learning goals, learning plans, performing individual learning, sharing learning results, and writing reports. The effects of learning strategies on participation level were analyzed through multiple regression analysis (stepwise selection method). As a result, the learning goal step influenced the highest level of metacognition, and the learning plan is the management of the learning time, the demonstration of the learning execution, the adjustment of the effort, the acquisition of help, the collegial learning, Writing was influenced by organization, elaboration, critical thinking, and critical thinking, metacognition, and elaboration.

  • This paper deals with the question whether the metaphysical dialetheism is a persuasive view or not. That is, the purpose of this paper is to criticize the metaphysical dialetheism by answering three questions, whether the dialetheism is compatible with the correspondence theory of truth, whether there is an observable contradiction, finally what the status of LNC is. In conclusion, it is argued that dialetheism is incompatible with the correspondence theory of truth, because it results in trivialism to suppose that two views are compatible. It is also claimed that LNC should be understood as the principle of exclusion which constrains the structure of the world and that the real world is consistent. Therefore, there is no observable contradiction in the world and the metaphysical dialetheism is not persuasive.

  • The purpose of this study is to review recent academic studies on the service quality evaluation of libraries in Korea and to derive from research trends and several suggestions. This paper compared and analyzed service quality evaluation models in the field of library and information science and management science. This study also conducted comparative analysis of academic journal articles on 'service quality evaluation models of digital libraries'(2002~2007) and 'service quality evaluation of libraries'(2009~2014) in Korea.

개방형 혁신은 새로운 혁신 방법론인가?: Chesbrough의 개방형 혁신 이론에 대한 비판적 평가

  • 본 논문에서는 Chesbrough의 개방형 혁신 이론을 간략하게 소개하고, 그것이 기술경영 이론에서 지니는 정확한 위치와 의의를 진단함으로써 그가 정말 기여한 부분은 어디인지를 평가한다. 개방형 혁신이란 기업이 연구, 개발, 상업화에 이르는 일련의 혁신 과정을 개방하여 외부 자원을 활용함으로써 혁신의 비용을 줄이고 성공 가능성을 제고하며 부가가치 창출을 극대화하는 기업 혁신의 방법론으로 요약될 수 있다. 이 글의 결론은 개방형 혁신이 현상적으로도 최근의 현상이 아닐 뿐 아니라, 이론적으로도 기존의 내용과 다른 것이 없다는 것이다. 즉, 그의 개방형 혁신은 이름은 새롭지만 그 내용을 보면 새로운 혁신 방법론은 아니라는 평가이다. 그가 기여한 것은 기존에 이미 연구된 여러 주제들을 개방형 혁신이라는 하나의 이름으로 묶어줌으로써 기업 전략을 위한 통일된 프레임웍을 제공한 것에 있다. 이런 점에서 그는 기술혁신 방법론에 대한 일종의 "아키텍처 혁신"을 시도한 셈이라고 볼 수 있다. 그리고 최근에 활발해진 개방형 혁신의 배경으로서 지식 환경의 변화를 강조한 것도 그의 기여라고 볼 수 있겠다.

Yu Won-Ji's Philosophical Theory and His Vindication of Toegye's Learning (졸재 유원지의 심성론과 퇴계학설 옹호)

  • This paper is intended to present the philosophical thoughts of Yu Won-Ji who was one of famous scholars in The School of Toegye. He criticized Yi I(Yulgok) and Jang Hyeon-Gwang(Yeohyeon) because they regarded Li and Ch'i as one. Yi was considered an actual founder of their theoretical and political rival party called the School of Yulgok. Jang also refused to accept Toegye's theory and had developed his own theory, which emphasized the unity of Li(principle) and Ch'i(material force). Therefore Yu might well exclude Yi I(Yulgok) and Jang Hyeon-Gwang and criticize their theories severely. First, he was convinced that Toegye's doctrine(Li-Gi-Ho-Bal-Seol) was a orthodox theory accurately succeeding to Jhu Xi's learning. Secondly, he criticised Yi I(Yulgok) for looking upon Li and Ch'i as one thing. Thirdly, he regarded Jang's doctrine as same with Yulgok's. Fourthly, he thought it is necessary to criticize Jang's theory in order to preserve Toegye's learning and establish the theoretical identity of the Toegye School.

  • The purpose of this study is to review recent studies on the service quality evaluation of digital libraries and to derive from research trends and several suggestions. Specifically, this paper compared and analyzed recent literatures on e-service quality evaluation of digital libraries in Korea with regard to service quality evaluation models and measure methodologies. Finally, this study offered two important suggestions. The one is the necessity of developing a standardized service quality evaluation model for digital libraries which is customized in korean environment and the other is establishment of development guideline of service quality evaluation for digital libraries.

Education and Freedom for the 'Pick-Me' Generation in reading of Chun-suk Oh and Byun-chul Han (픽미세대를 위한 자유교육 소고: 천원 오천석의 자유 개념을 중심으로)

  • This paper begins with the notion of 'pick-me generation', which refers to today's young generation in Korea. It is named after the title of a song introduced at the Television programme for the competitive audition for girl-group singers. This name gives an idea of the atmosphere of the competition that the current young generation experiences in South Korea. In parallel to it, the research examines the meaning of freedom and choice in democratic education in Oh Chunsuck, in his later work in particular. This paper attempts to demonstrate the possibility to relate Oh's notion of freedom and democracy in relation to Han who critically analyses contemporary discourses on neo-liberalism and democracy. This paper re-views Oh's ideals of democracy and education within its own limitations on freedom. The argument extends Oh's idea of freedom and ethical democracy to the idea of freedom that is relevant to today's younger generation.

  • The purpose of this study was to introduce the practical model on the enhancement of the divergent and convergent thinking skills through inquiry instruction in science class. In this study, the creative thinking skill has been defined by divergent thinking skill as the narrow sense. In the science field, the problem solving thinking skill is just same as the inquiry thinking skill. Also, the problem solving thinking skill has been defined by convergent thinking skill as the critical thinking skill. This new instruction had been used for the college student in the class of general chemistry laboratory for the one semester. The first results had been founded that the students' divergent thinking skill had been increased significantly. Especially, the skills of recognition of problems, the skills of making hypothesis, and the skills of transformation and interpretation of data had been increased significantly. The second results had been founded that the students' convergent thinking skill had been increased significantly. Especially, the skills of making hypothesis, the skills of transformation and interpretation of data, and the skills of making conclusion and generalization had been increased significantly. The third results had been founded that the students' the creative and problem solving thinking skill had been increased significantly. Especially, the rest of all skills exception the skill of control variables had been increased significantly.
