  • "한국사상사대계"는 우리 사상의 발달과 전개과정을 체계적으로 보여주는 데는 다소 미흡한 '방대한 논문모음'이라는 일각의 비판에도 불구하고 학제간의 공동연구의 산물이라는 점에서, 거시적 안목에서 한민족의 정신문화를 조감할 수 있게 했다는 점에서 상당한 의의를 가진다고 학계에서 평가되고 있다.

Critical Approach and Progressive Perspective on Sports Event Hosting (스포츠이벤트 개최의 비판적 접근과 미래적 응시)

  • The purpose of this study is to survey fundamental limitations and problems of sports event hosting from the critical point of view and to set future-oriented perspective. The reason and legitimacy for hosting sports event have come from pragmatism based on ideological logic behind politics. Thus, the flow of advanced studies was mostly limited to the category of efficiency. However, there is fundamental limitation in sports even hosting in terms of its financial expectation and efficiency. Critical approach will contribute to minimizing side effects caused from blind acceptance through awakening dispassionate and realistic judgment. In addition, rational selection of sports even hosting can be achieved through interconnection of sports culturism's directivity as an advanced sense of sports culture, integrated perspective that penetrates problems of growth and distribution and local governance as apolitical philosophy, and of course, through concentration of energy.

A Study on Analysis of Likelihood Principle and its Educational Implications (우도원리에 대한 분석과 그에 따른 교육적 시사점에 대한 연구)

  • This study analyzes the likelihood principle and elicits an educational implication. As a result of analysis, this study shows that Frequentist and Bayesian interpret the principle differently by assigning different role to that principle from each other. While frequentist regards the principle as 'the principle forming a basis for statistical inference using the likelihood ratio' through considering the likelihood as a direct tool for statistical inference, Bayesian looks upon the principle as 'the principle providing a basis for statistical inference using the posterior probability' by looking at the likelihood as a means for updating. Despite this distinction between two methods of statistical inference, two statistics schools get clues to compromise in a regard of using frequency prior probability. According to this result, this study suggests the statistics education that is a help to building of students' critical eye by their comparing inferences based on likelihood and posterior probability in the learning and teaching of updating process from frequency prior probability to posterior probability.

A Study on the Classification of Real Numbers based on the Decimal System (십진체계에 기초한 실수의 분류에 관한 연구)

  • The efforts to represent the numbers based on the decimal system give us fundamental understanding to construct and teach the concept network on the related knowledge of elementary and secondary school mathematics. In the process to represent natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, real numbers as decimal system, we will classify the extended decimal system. Moreover we will obtain the view to classify real numbers. In this paper, we will study the didactical significance of mathematical knowledge, which arise from process to represent real numbers as decimal system, starting from decimal system representation of natural numbers, and provide the theoretical base about the classification of real numbers. This study help math teachers to understand school mathematics in critical inside-measurement and provide the theore tical background of related knowledge. Furthermore, this study provide a clue to construct coherent curriculum and internal connections of related mathematical knowledge.

The Pre-Service Elementary School Teachers' Analyses on the Components of Scientific Attitude by Learning Topics of Science Textbooks and the Educational Effects of the Analyzing Activity (초등 예비교사들의 과학 교과서 학습 주제별 과학적 태도 하위 요소 분석 및 분석 활동의 교육적 효과 - '지구와 우주' 영역 단원을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the components of scientific attitude by some learning topics in the 3rd~6th grade science textbooks that the pre-service elementary school teachers judge to be teachable in class and the educational effects of this analysis activity for the pre-service teachers. The several results of this study are as follows: The pre-service teachers responded that, for all learning topics, they could teach diverse components of scientific attitude and the number of components expressed in their responses is more than the components specified in the teacher's guides. Among the components of scientific attitude, 'curiosity', 'open-mindedness', 'respect for evidence', and 'objectivity' showed relatively high possibility of teaching, while 'honesty', 'collaboration', 'positive acceptance of failure', 'critical mind' and 'suspension of judgment' showed relatively low possibility of teaching. The responses that pre-service teachers judged to be teachable also showed similar patterns in the number of components of scientific attitude and the rate of the components between the learning topics of the 3~4th grades and the learning topics of the 5~6th grades. In addition, this pre-service teachers' analysis activity on the components of scientific attitude by learning topics in science textbooks suggested educational effects such as 'the deep understanding of the components of scientific attitude', 'the understanding and applying the components of scientific attitude in the context of science class', and so on.

  • This paper argues that the establishment of the Kaohsiung Export Processing Zone (KEPZ), the first EPZ in East Asia, is a compromise of cold-war geopolitical economy in the 1960s. The KEPZ is part of the liberalization policy advise of the US Aid agency which intended to push the KMT (Kuomintang) government to downsize the nationalized sectors and foster private enterprises and encourage foreign investments. However, the KMT state hesitated to embrace the advice wholeheartedly but was forced to implement selectively the policies. To meet the compromise between liberalization and control, the KMT government takes advantage of the KEPZ to grab the geoeconomic opportunities emerging from the new international division of labor in the 1960s without losing the geopolitical support from the US. The idea that zoning as a space of compromise would provide a subtle re-examination of the rise of the KEPZ which is conventionally explained by the functionalist arguments such as increase of employment opportunities, foreign investments and export by the far-sighted developmental state.

A Comparative Study of Landscape Design Competitions' Guidelines and Entry Plans -The Case of Winning Design Proposals for Urban Infrastructure of the Hangdong Bogeumjari Housing District- (조경현상설계지침과 출품작의 내용관계 비교 -항동 보금자리주택지구 도시기반시설공모 입상작을 중심으로-)

  • This study is aimed at the improvement of administrative operations of landscape design competitions and qualitative enhancement of design quality by mutually comparing the guidelines and entry plans. The case targeted for the current study is landscape design proposals for the Seoul Hangdong Bogeumjari Housing District recently launched within a greenbelt zone in the outskirts of Seoul. The study examines from a critical perspective the design guidelines and the contents of the three winning design proposals with a focus on whether or not they have reflected the guidelines. It was observed that many provisions of the principles and conceptual guidelines which serve as clues to the designs for winning designs proposals show the direction in which the project is to be headed It was also observed that the provisions and the way they are expressed are intertwined, while, at the same time, the guidelines were not organized or developed in an orderly manner. Such a structural pattern of the guidelines is linked to the aspects of the contents of the winning design proposals as described in the following. It is observed that guidelines related to the direction in which the design to be headed are so regulatory and lengthy that they are overly standardized. This could make it difficult to read the possibility of the alternative shifts in the winning design proposals. At the same time, the attributes of winning design proposals themselves, which require observable discriminatory superiority, could serve as a factor causing excess of meanings by jumping on the bandwagon of naming. On the contrary, where autonomy of design is guaranteed or no guidelines are provided for the winning design proposals, discriminatory differences were observed, thereby making it easy to measure them This illustrates well that guidelines and structural format should be provided through a separate undertaking that has taken into careful consideration environmental traits of the site in question, objectives required and so forth.

  • Minnesota state law requires County Extension Committees (CECs). The County Board of Commissioners appoints committee members. Extension Educators are responsible for using CECs to assure the value of Extension work in the County. This paper will explore underlying values, principles and practices that can effect the utilization of CECs in ways that benefit the work of Extension and make the process a good experience for CEC members and Extension Educator. The paper is based primarily on readings in the Journal of Extension, interviews with two Extension Educator, and information provided by the University of Minnesota Extension Service for CEC members.

The Method of the Cultivation of Taste and the Possibility of the Edification of Personality & the Cultural Development Through It: The Approach to Analyzing the Examples of the Judgment of Negative Taste in Kant's Critique of Judgment(§§32-33) (취미 도야의 방식과 이를 통한 인성의 교화 및 문화발전의 가능성: 칸트의 『판단력비판』 §§32-33 부정적 취미판단의사례 분석을 중심으로)

  • This essay attempts to reveal how taste spontaneously cultivates and why it is necessary for cultivating taste to edify our personality and to develop culture. It is a key of the solution of the problems that taste always reflects its judgment through pleasure. Because the grounds of the universal validity of the judgment of taste are found, whenever taste tests the validity of its own judgment, the so-called 'delight of discovery' makes taste cultivate itself. For having the moral personality, we need to practice spontaneously the morality of our own behaviour and for judging whether an artwork to represent the period is succeeded or not, we need to have a high insight to select the cultural heritage. But the autonomous thinking can delightfully be made a habit, judging the beauty of artworks. In the main body of this essay, it is determined from the three examples of the negative judgment of taste which Kant suggested in deduction. According to Kant, the negative judgment of taste means that the beautiful work is displeased, but what it asserts is that taste is cultivated. I formalize the methods of reflection of taste revealed in three negative judgments of taste into'resisting', 'indicating of error', 'self-retracting'.(Chapter 2) And from this, I emphasize the necessity to cultivate taste in the way that these methods of the cultivation of taste can affect building our personality by stimulating our reason to have interest in moral(Chapter 3) and in the way that taste directly judges the product of cultural succession.(Chapter 4) In the end of last chapter, I examine further essentially the method of the reflection of taste, to inquire into how to enable it.(Chapter 5) Especially, I try to illuminate its grounds through Schiller's concept of the "impulse of amusement(Spieltrib)", because his explanation helps us to understand the dynamics of taste's delight of discovery. Although the abilities of mind conflict with each other, taste has the characters that it reflects to encourage them for each other and that it is vitalized by its own activity. We, as it were, can pleasantly handle two tasks, because taste makes the impulse of amusement from conflictive impulses in mind. In conclusion, I state that we have to experience directly the impulse of amusement like creative artist, because it is maximized from creation.
