Uplink Pilot Signal Design for Mobile Wireless Backhaul (이동무선백홀을 위한 상향링크 파일럿 신호 설계)

  • In this paper, an uplink pilot signal structure is proposed for millimeter wave(mmWave)-based mobile wireless backhaul. For the transmit diversity of two antenna ports, uplink pilot signals generated from the Zadoff-Chu sequence can be mapped in an interleaved mode or continuous mode on the frequency axis, and channel estimation algorithms are different depending on the pilot signal mapping schemes. Through a simulation under Rayleigh fading channel assuming a subway scenario, the interleaved mapping scheme showed no performance degradation compared to the continuous mapping scheme and the implementation complexity of the uplink channel estimator was reduced due to the interleaved mapping scheme.

  • 일반신호기는 정해진 신호시간에 따라 독립적으로 운영되는 정주기신호기와 TOD(Time of Day)식 신호기이다. 이런 일반신호기의 단점으로는 변동되는 교통량에 대응이 불가능하고, 교통량에 관계없이 연속적으로 신호체계가 이루어지기 때문에 차량의 이동성이 비효율적으로 됨에 따라 생산성 감소, 에너지낭비 및 자동차 배기가스 증가를 초래하고 있다 이를 개선하기 위한 방법으로서 본 논문에서는 4차선의 주차로와 2차선의 소방로로 이루어진 교차로에서 주차로의 교통량이 많을 경우, 차로에서는 녹색불이 지속되어 교통의 흐름을 원활하게 해주며, 소방로에서 차량이 일정량 증가하게 되면, 주차로의 신호등이 적색등을 바꾸어 소방로의 차량이 교통되도록 하는 지능형 교통체계에 대해 VHDL을 이용하여 지능형 신호체계 시스템을 설계하였다.

Development of Traffic Signal Operation Strategies On Median Bus Lane (중앙버스전용차로제 실시에 따른 신호운영 방안 연구)

  • For urban highway network, traffic control strategy paradigm has been shifted from the private auto-oriented to the public transit-oriented. Introduction of exclusive median bus lanes (EMBL) in Seoul, Korea, has especially accelerated such changes in transportation policy and thus highway environment. Left-turning movement treatment at signalized intersections where EMBL pass through has been emerged as one of the rising problems associated with a current signal head with 4-signal lens, the Korea standard. This study proposes a new signal phase operation scheme for signal operation at an isolated intersection where EMBL pass through. The authors propose to use of an exclusive bus signal head indicating right-of-way of transits on EMBL only. Based on it, three different phase operation scheme were developed for left-turn treatments for traffic control with (1) traffic responsive control mode and (2) time-of-day traffic control mode. In addition, methodologies to design and develop signal maps for the proposed signal phase schemes are also developed. The proposed operation can only be possible when additional uses of signal state relay boards are allowed.

Prevention System for Real Time Traffic Accident (실시간 교통사고 예방 시스템)

  • In order to reduce traffic accidents, many researchers studied a traffic accident model. The Cause of traffic accidents is usually the mis calculation of traffic signals or bad traffic intersection design. Therefore, to analyse the cause of traffic accidents, it takes effort. This paper, it calculates the optimal safe car speed considering intersection conditions and weather conditions. It will recommend calculation of 1/3 in vehicle speed when there are rainy days and snow days. But the problem is that it will always display the same speed limit when whether conditions change. In order to solve these problems, in this paper, it is proposed the calculation of optimal safety speed algorithm uses weather conditions and road conditions. Computer simulations is prove that it computes the traffic speed limit correctly, which proposed considering intelligent traffic accident prediction algorithms.

  • 본 논문은 시간 혹은 주변의 상황에 따라 가변적으로 변화하는 교통량을 스스로 파악하여 효과적으로 제어할 수 있는 에이젼트를 설게하고 가상 실험을 하여 기존의 고정식 신호등과 비교 평가하였다. 대부분의 교통 신호등은 교통량의 변화에 능동적으로 대응하지 못하고 미리 설정해 놓은 시간에 따라 각 방향의 신호를 주고 있기 때문에 교통량의 변화에 적절히 대응하지 못하고 있다. 또한 급작스런 교통상황의 변화에 대응 할 수 없다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 DTCA(Distributed Traffic Control Agent)가 설계되었다. DTCA는 교차로의 교통정보를 수집하여 신호등을 제어한는 정보로 활용하고, 인접 교통제어 에이젼트와 교신한면서 최적의 신호시간과 신호주기를 결정한다. DCTA는 시간대별, 요일별 교통과 통계를 수집, 분석한 데이터를 기초로 하고 현재 교통량을 동적으로 수집 그리고 주변의 상호제어 에이젼트와 정보를 교환하여 비정상적인 교통흐름을 대처할 수있다.

Digital Image Processing in Analyzing the Signal Pattern of Rock-Inscribed Letter (디지털영상신호처리에 의한 금석문 음각문자 신호 패턴 분석)

  • 금석문의 영상데이터를 디지털 형태로 검출하고, 영상신호처리 알고리즘을 사용하여 신호의 특성을 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하였다. 대상체는 비석에 음각된 문자로 하였다. 대전 주변의 백제권에서 몇몇 유형의 음각 문자를 형태별로 분류하여 디지털 이미지화한 다음, 문자가 각인된 정보영역과 바탕영역의 신호패턴을 추출하였다. 먼저 칼라 이미지를 grey tone으로 변환한 후, 전처리 과정을 거쳐 이미지의 노이즈나 불명확성을 제거하고 히스토그램 전 영역에 걸쳐 스케일 확장시켰다. 문자가 각인된 정보영역과 바탕영역을 구분하여 무작위로 소이미지 샘플을 취득하고 각 소이미지의 신호패턴을 분석하였다. 그 결과를 중첩의 원리를 이용하여 합성한 후 영역별 신호분석 패턴을 정형화하였다. 유형별로 다소 차이를 보이나 두 영역의 이미지 분석 결과는 차별성을 보였다. 문자 영역은 grey level 범위가 좁고 한정되며 일관성을 보이는데 비해, 바탕영역은 범위가 넓고 광범위하였다. 두 영역의 교차 레벨 범위는 극히 제한적이었으며 패턴 분리에 큰 영향을 끼치지 못하였음이 밝혀졌다. 이 일련의 과정은 알고리즘화되어, 1-2분 정도의 사전 작업만 하면 프로그램에 의해 문자를 추출할 수 있다. 이러한 사실들은 종래 무리한 탁본 작업에만 전적으로 의존하던 금석학 분야의 디지털화를 가능케 할 수 있다.

Development of Left Turn Response System Based on LiDAR for Traffic Signal Control

  • In this paper, we use a LiDAR sensor and an image camera to detect a left-turning waiting vehicle in two ways, unlike the existing image-type or loop-type left-turn detection system, and a left-turn traffic signal corresponding to the waiting length of the left-turning lane. A system that can efficiently assign a system is introduced. For the LiDAR signal transmitted and received by the LiDAR sensor, the left-turn waiting vehicle is detected in real time, and the image by the video camera is analyzed in real time or at regular intervals, thereby reducing unnecessary computational processing and enabling real-time sensitive processing. As a result of performing a performance test for 5 hours every day for one week with an intersection simulation using an actual signal processor, a detection rate of 99.9%, which was improved by 3% to 5% compared to the existing method, was recorded. The advantage is that 99.9% of vehicles waiting to turn left are detected by the LiDAR sensor, and even if an intentional omission of detection occurs, an immediate response is possible through self-correction using the video, so the excessive waiting time of vehicles waiting to turn left is controlled by all lanes in the intersection. was able to guide the flow of traffic smoothly. In addition, when applied to an intersection in the outskirts of which left-turning vehicles are rare, service reliability and efficiency can be improved by reducing unnecessary signal costs.

  • Modern roundabouts referred to as relatively safer and more efficient traffic facility than the signalized intersections have been recently deployed and operated and accordingly more research efforts to improve its safety and efficiency have been made so far. This paper introduces a new traffic information system named as Smart Roundabout coupled with Connected Vehicle technique like Vehicle-to-Roadside communication, which has not been attempted before and evaluates its performance with a microscopic simulation model, VISSIM. The proposed system functions to collect driving information of circulating vehicles in the roundabout such as location, speed, critical headway, etc. and help approaching vehicles decide whether to enter the roundabout with an on-board equipment instrumented in the individual vehicle on the basis of calculated gap acceptance of interest. This new system is expected to secure more safety and increase the capacity of the modern roundabout.

A study on the Spacing between Near-side Bus Stops and Signalized Intersection in Median Exclusive Bus Lane (중앙버스전용차로 근측정류장과 신호교차로의 이격거리 산정에 관한 연구)

  • Increased bus traffic leads inefficiency at near-side bus stops in median exclusive bus lane because buses are waiting for a signal does not have a vehicle arrived. This study suggests a method for estimating a proper spacing between bus stops and signalized intersection to prevent the inefficiency. We modified the Poisson model for a proper spacing by using both dwell time and waiting time of signal instead of using dwell time only. The waiting time of signal changes by spacing and it was measured using micro simulation program. The iterative algorithm using the change of waiting time of signal was also suggested. By applying the proposed method, measure waiting time by simulation and iterative algorithm, the spacing of near-side bus stops, proper spacing is suggested according to flow rate level.
