Approximate Probability Density for the Controlled Responses of Randomly Excited Saturated Oscillator (불규칙 가진을 받는 포화 진동계의 응답제어에 관한 확률밀도 추정)

  • The non linear control algorithm with actuator saturation for a randomly excited oscillator has been widely explored and has shown promising results, but the probabilistic analysis of the algorithm has been rarely made due to its non-linear nature and the fact that the analytical solution of probability density function (PDF) for controlled responses does not exist. In this paper, a method for the probabilistic analysis on the non linear control algorithm with actuator saturation is proposed based on the equivalent non linear system method. Numerical examples are given to verify the approximation solution of PDF comparing to a statistically obtained PDF using a Gaussian white noise and a Kanai - Tagimi filtered Gaussian white noise.

Optimum Subband Quantization Filter Design for Image Compression (영상압축을 위한 최적의 서브밴드 양자화 필터 설계)

  • This paper provides a rigorous theory for analysis of quantization effects and optimum filter bank design in quantized multidimensional subband filter banks. Even though subband filter design has been a hot topic for last decades, a few results have been reported on the subband filter with a quantizer. Each pdf-optimized quantizer is modeled by a nonlinear gain-plus-additive uncorrelated noise and embedded into the subband structure. Using polyphase decomposition of the analysis/synthesis filter banks, we derive the exact expression for the output mean square quantization error. Based on the minimization of the output mean square error, the technique for optimal filter design methodology is developed. Numerical design examples for optimum nonseparable paraunitary and biorthogonal filter banks are presented with a quincunx subsampling lattice. Through the simulation, $10\~20\;\%$ decreases in MSE have been observed compared with subband filter with no quantizers especially for low bit rate cases.

Position Estimation of MBK system for non-Gaussian Underwater Sensor Networks (비가우시안 노이즈가 존재하는 수중 환경에서 MBK 시스템의 위치 추정)

  • This paper study the position estimation of MBK system according to the non-linear filter for non-Gaussian noise in underwater sensor networks. In the filter to estimate location, recently, the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and particle filter are getting attention. EKF is widely used due to the best algorithm in the Gaussian noise environment, but has many restrictions on the usage in non-Gaussian noise environment such as in underwater. In this paper, we propose the improved One-Dimension Particle Filter (ODPF) using the distribution re-interpretation techniques based on the maximum likelihood. Through the simulation, we compared and analyzed the proposed particle filter with the EKF in non-Gaussian underwater sensor networks. In the case of both the sufficient statistical sample and the sufficient calculation capacity, we confirm that the ODPF's result shows more accurate localization than EKF's result.

  • 본 논문에서는 미지의 유계를 가진 불확실성을 포함한 비선형 시스템에 대한 고장 진단 설계를 제안한다. 제안된 고장 진단 필터는 비선형 관측기 설계 기술에 기초하여 설계되며, 신경망을 이용하여 고장 성분과 불확실성 성분을 추정하고 추정된 불확실성의 상한값을 고장 진단에 이용한다. 제안된 근사기는 불확실성과 고장 함수를 추정함으로써 고장 검출뿐만 아니라 고장 진단을 확인할 수 있도록 설계된다. 모의실험을 통해서 제안된 고장 진단 설계의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • In this paper, pSDF-based referance image is reahzed. Using BJTC(binary joint transform correlator) as nonlinear correlator, optical pattern recognition for interclass discrimination is performed. Experimental results show that correlation peak intensity of one calss is two times higher than that of the other class, which indicates its superiority in discrimination sensitivity.

  • We propose a modified stochastic gradient-based (MSGB) filter showing that the filter is the solution to an optimization problem. This paper analyzes the properties of the MSGB filter that corresponds to the nonlinear adaptive filter with additional update terms, parameterized by the variable scaling factor. The variably parameterized MSGB filter plays a role iii connecting the fixed parameterized MSGB filter and the null parameterized MSGB filter through variably scaling parameter. The stability regions and misadjustments are shown. A system identification is utilized to perform the computer simulation and demonstrate the improved performance feature of the MSGB filter.

  • This paper describes the technique for Radar Particle filter for TBD(Track Before Detect) processing. TBD technique is applied when target is difficult to detect due to low signal-to-noise ratio caused by strong clutter environments, small RCS targets and stealth targets. Particle filter is suitable for a recursive TBD algorithm and has improved estimation accuracy than Kalman filter. In this paper, we will present a new method of calculating particle weight, when observation values(including strong clutter) are received at the same time. Estimation error performance of the particle filter algorithm is analyzed by using the virtual radar observation scenario.

  • Positions of tactical objects are represented as Time, Space and Position Information(TSPI) in modeling and simulations(M&S). The format and required information record for TSPI is investigated by referring the TSPI object model of the Test and Training Enabling Architecture(TENA), which has been developed by the United States Department of Defense. The most sophisticated tactical data link, Link-16 has a Precise Participant Location and Information (PPLI) message. We study the data format for exchanging TSPI data based on the PPLI message. To evaluate and track positions of tactical objects, we consider the Kalman filter for linear systems, and the extended Kalman filter and the unscented Kalman filter for nonlinear systems. Based on motion equations of a ballistic missile, the tracking performance for the trajectory of the ballistic missile is simulated by the unscented Kalman filter.

  • In this paper, a new control strategy of a series active power filter suing direct compensating voltage extraction method is proposed. The proposed series active power filter and shunt passive filters are used 3-phase 3-wire power system with nonlinear load. The series active power filter complements drawbacks of the shunt passive filter and contributes to a source side harmonic reduction. We can extract the compensating voltage of the series active power filter using performance function without phase transformations. Therefore, the calculating time is short and the control method is simple compared with conventional methods. Experimental results verify that the system using the proposed method appears a good performance.

  • 본 논문에서는, 전동기를 이용하는 위치제어 시스템을 이용하여, 이너루프 제어기 유무에 따라 시간 응답 특성 개선 효과에 대하여 실험을 통해 검증하고자 한다. 실험 플랜트로서, 전동기의 속도에 따라 진자의 위치를 제어하는 다중 안정도를 가지고 비선형 시스템인 아라고 진자 시스템을 이용한다. 이 시스템은 속도 정보를 알 수 있는 측정 장치가 없는데, 칼만필터로 전동기의 속도를 추정하고 속도 제어기를 설계하도록 한다. 또한, 선형 시스템을 고려하기 위하여 안정영역 동작점인 진자의 각도가 지면으로 부터 45$^{\circ}$인 선형화 모델을 이용한다.
