Imaging of Harmonic Wave Generated by Contact Acoustic Nonlinearity in Obliquely Incident Ultrasonic Wave (경사입사 초음파에서 계면 접촉 음향 비선형성에 의해 발생한 고조파의 영상화)

  • The objective of this study is to image the harmonic wave generated by contact acoustic nonlinearity in obliquely incident ultrasonic wave for early detection of closed cracks. A closed crack has been simulated by contacting two aluminum block specimens producing solid-solid contact interfaces and then acoustic nonlinearity has been imaged with contact pressure. Sampling phased array(SPA) and synthetic aperture focusing technique(SAFT) are used for imaging techniques. The amplitude of the fundamental frequency decreased with appling pressure. But, the amplitude of second harmonic increased with pressure and was a maximum amplitude at the simulation point of closed crack. Then, the amplitude of second harmonic decreased. As a result, harmonic imaging of contact acoustic nonlinearity is possible and it is expected to be apply for early detection of initial cracks.

  • In this paper, a new approach to estimate nonmlinear distortions (second-harmonic, second-intermodulation, third-harmonic, and third-intermodulation) in digital communication systems is proposed. In contrast to the relatively common sine-wave input approach which requires repetition of the same experiments by changing frequencies of oscillators and filters over the band of frequencies of interest, the proposed approach uses digital random input (transmitted signal in digital communication system) to adaptively estimate parameters of a nonlinear channel in time-domain. Nonlinear distortion of the channel is estimated on line by transforming the estimated parameters into frequency-domain. Comparison between the classical two-tone input approach and the proposed approach is made through computer simulation.

  • Two version of the TUMMAC(Tokyo University Modified Marker-And-Cell) method, i.e., $TUMMAC-IV_{vm1}$ and TUMMAC-VI are applied to two water-wave problems. The ship wave of a Series 60 model($C_B=0.6$) and of the fore-body of a HSVA tanker model are simulated by the $TUMMAC-IV_{vm1}$ method are the results are compared with the experimental results. From the comparison with the experimental data it is ascertained that the $TUMMAC-IV_{vm1}$ method is useful for the analysis of the realized by the TUMMAC-VI method is useful for the analysis of the characteristics of nonlinear ship waves. Three-dimensional wave breaking is realized by the TUMMAC-VI method in the simulation of a flow about a vertical rectangular cylinder. From the results of this simulation, it is shown that the TUMMAC-VI method is very available for the simulation of 3-dimensional wave breaking phenomena.

  • 조화가진력이 작용하는 고정경계를 가진 완전원판의 비선형 진동에 대한 응답특성을 연구하였다. 원판의 비대칭모드의 고유진동수 근처에 가진주파수가 작용하는 주공진에서의 응답은 정상파(standing wave)뿐만 아니라 진행파(traveling wave)가 존재한다고 알려져 있다. 주공진 근처의 정상상태 응답곡선에서 최대한 5개의 안정한 응답이 존재하는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 이들은 1개의 정상파와 4개의 진행파로 나타난다. 이 진행파중 2개는 Hope분기에 의해 안정성을 잃은 후 주기배가운동을 거쳐 혼돈운동에 이르게 된다. Lyaponov 지수를 사용하여 혼돈운동을 정량적으로 평가하였으며, 주평면의 개념을 이용하여 이 혼돈운동의 흡인영역이 Fractal임을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 개선된 유전자 알고리즘과 역전파 신경망 알고리즘의 특징을 살펴보고, 비선형 모의자료를 이용하여 개선된 유전자 알고리즘 기반의 신경망 학습 효과와 역전파 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 신경망 학습 효과를 비교해 본다. 유전자 알고리즘을 이용한 신경망 학습에는 개선된 신경망 제어기를 이용한다. 역전파 알고리즘을 이용한 신경망 학습에는 일반화 성능향상을 위한 인자들의 결합효과를 이용한다. 모의실험을 통하여 두 가지의 학습에서 학습 수령의 정도와 학습 속도 등을 비교하는 모의실험 결과를 개선된 유전자 알고리즘과 신경망 알고리즘의 학습 결과와 항께 제시한다. 모의실험의 결과로서 유전자 알고리즘을 적용한 개선된 신경망 제어기를 통한 학습 결과가 일반 신경망 학습 결과보다 초기 가중값을 작은 범위에서 발생시킬 때 수렴 정확도 및 학습 속도에서 좋은 결과를 나타내 주고 있다.

  • 최근 전력변환 응용 기기의 사용증가로 비선형 특성부하에 의한 고조파가 상당히 발생하고 있으며, 고조파에 의한 영향이 심각한 수준에 이르고 있다. 또한, 에너지 절약을 위하여 설치한 인버터에 의하여 고조파가 오히려 역률이 기대치 이하로 저하되는 현상을 초래한다 따라서 본문에서는 산업현장에서 발행하는 고조파 장해를 조사 (실측)하여 그 계통의 정확한 고조파를 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 고조파 성분에 따라 Filter를 이용한 고조파 저감 대책을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 구현하며, 저감된 개선사례를 중심으로 제시하였다.

  • In the field application of the conventional acoustic nonlinear technique using through transmission of bulk waves to evaluate the contact acoustic nonlinearity(CAN) in solid-solid contact interfaces like as in the closed crack, it has difficulty to access inner position for attaching the pulsing or receiving transducer. In the present study, a new reflection technique has been suggested to measure the acoustic nonlinearity in solid-solid contact interfaces, which uses both of pulsing and receiving transducers on the same side of target and so that it will be very useful for the field application. For this, based on the linear and the nonlinear contact stiffness estimated by the power-model of the contacting pressure, the nonlinear parameter of the reflected ultrasonic wave at the interfaces has been theoretically calculated. Experimental results in contact interfaces of A1606l-T6 alloy specimens with loading pressure showed good agreement with the theoretical predictions, which proves the validity of the suggested reflection mode technique.

  • Typical household load have nonlinear loads including a personal computer, video, refrigerator, microwave oven, TV, and audio set. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative probablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. This paper provides in depth analysis on harmonics field measurement of the typical household loads and harmonics simulation using EDSA program for the case study.

  • A large steel industry which has nonlinear loads including electric arc furnaces is one of the extra high voltage customers. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative propablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. In this paper the in varying harmonics of electric arc furnace loads are evaluated by international harmonic standards(IEC 61000-3-6, IEEE 519 and JIS C 61000-3-2).

Polarization Filters Using the Multicomponent Complex Trace Analysis (다성분 복소트레이스를 이용한 분극필터)

  • In order to increase the signal-to-noise ratio in multi-component seismic data, we developed new polarization filters based on the method of multicomponent complex trace analysis. Unlike the previous polarization filters, the present filters separately compute linear and elliptic components at each time sample using amplitude ratio of horizontal and vertical components of body waves and ellipticity of Rayleigh waves. The polarization filters work ideally even with low S/N data. Application of the filters to both synthetic and real seismic data shows that Rayleigh waves of elliptic motions are effectively eliminated and both P and S waves of linear motions are well separated each other.
