Constrained multivariable model based predictive control application to nonlinear boiler system (제약조건을 갖는 다변수 모델 예측 제어기의 비선형 보일러 시스템에 대한 적용)

  • This paper deals with MCMBPC(Multivariable Constrained Model Based Predictive Controller) for nonlinear boiler system with noise and disturbance. MCMBPC is designed by linear state space model obtained from some operating point of nonlinear boiler system and Kalman filter is used to estimate the state with noise and disturbance. The solution of optimization of the cost function constrained on input and/or output variables is achieved using quadratic programming, viz. singular value decomposition (SVD). The controller designed is shown to have excellent tracking performance via simulation applied to nonlinear dynamic drum boiler turbine model for 16OMW unit.

An Improved Load Control Strategy for the Ultimate Analysis of Curved Prestressed Concrete Cable-Stayed Bridge (곡선 PSC 사장교의 극한해석을 위한 개선된 하중제어법)

  • A study for the nonlinear solution strategies to predict the ultimate behavior of a curved PSC cable-stayed bridge with complex geometry and highly nonlinear characteristics is presented. The load and displacement control strategies are used and found to be stable for the nonlinear solution of the PSC bridge up to the moderately excessive load. The ultimate analysis of curved PSC cable-stayed bridge using these solution strategies is not converged due to the propagation of the cracks in the wide range of the concrete elements and excessive variation of the stresses in the concrete elements and cables according to the complex geometry. The load control strategy using scale-down of the unbalanced loads is proposed as an alternative method for the case that the solution is not converged due to the severe nonlinearities involved in the PSC structures like a curved PSC cable-stayed bridge. Through the ultimate analysis of the PSC girder, the accuracy and the stability of the proposed solution strategies are evaluated. Finally, the numerical results for the ultimate analysis of the curved PSC cable-stayed bridge using scale-down of the unbalanced loads are compared with those obtained from other investigator. The validity of the proposed nonlinear solution strategy is demonstrated fairly well.

Efficient Dynamic Analysis of High-rise Buildings Having Belt Walls Connected by a Sky-Bridge (스카이브릿지로 연결된 벨트월이 있는 고층건물의 효율적인 동적해석)

  • In the design of a sky-bridge, repetitive boundary nonlinear time history analyses are required to accurately predict dynamic behaviors of the connected buildings because the connection systems of a sky-bridge usually have high nonlinearity. If a conventional finite element model for entire high-rise buildings is used for repetitive boundary nonlinear time history analyses, computational efforts could be significant. In this study, an equivalent cantilever model considering the belt-wall effect has been proposed for an efficient dynamic analysis and a performance evaluation of vibration control of high-rise buildings connected by a sky-bridge. To verify the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed equivalent model, boundary nonlinear time history analyses of 49- and 42-story example buildings connected by a sky-bridge have been performed for wind excitation. Based on the analytical results, it has been verified that the proposed equivalent model can provide accurate dynamic responses of building structures connected by a sky-bridge with significantly reduced computational efforts.

Development of Machine Learning Model for Predicting Distillation Column Temperature (증류공정 내부 온도 예측을 위한 머신 러닝 모델 개발)

  • In this study, we developed a machine learning-based model for predicting the production stage temperature of distillation process. It is necessary to predict an accurate temperature for control because the control of the distillation process is done through the production stage temperature. The temperature in distillation process has a nonlinear complex relationship with other variables and time series data, so we used the recurrent neural network algorithms to predict temperature. In the model development process, by adjusting three recurrent neural network based algorithms, and batch size, we selected the most appropriate model for predicting the production stage temperature. LSTM128 was selected as the most appropriate model for predicting the production stage temperature. The prediction performance of selected model for the actual temperature is RMSE of 0.0791 and R2 of 0.924.

Combustion Control of Refuse Incineration Plant using Fuzzy Model and Genetic Algorithms (퍼지 모델과 유전 알고리즘을 이용한 쓰레기 소각로의 연소 제어)

  • In this paper we propose combustion control of refuse incineration plant using fuzzy model and genetic algorithm. At first fuzzy modelling is performed to obtain fuzzy model of the refuse incineration plant and obtained fuzzy model predicts outputs of the plant when inputs are given. Fuzzy model ca be used to obtain control strategy, and train and enhance operators' skill by simulating the plant. Then genetic algorithms search and find out optimal control inputs over all possible solutions in respect to desired outputs and these are inserted to plant. In order to testify proposed control method, computer simulation was carried out. As a result, ISE of fuzzy model of refuse incineration plant is 0.015 and ITAE of control by proposed method, 352 which is better than that by manual operation.

  • 본 논문에서는 프레임 안에서의 인접픽셀간의 복잡도를 이용하여 할당비트 조절과 장면 전환을 추정하는 H.264/AVC 비트율 제어 기법을 제안한다. Quadratic 율-왜곡 모델은 프레임 할당 비트와 선형 모델을 통해 예측된 MAD정보를 필요로 한다. 이때 장면전환과 같은 급격한 화질 변화는 예측된 MAD정보만으로는 적합한 양자화파라미터를 결정하지 못하고 이후 비트율 제어를 어렵게 한다. 제안하는 방법은 프레임 안에서 인접픽셀간의 차분 값들의 절대 합을 구하여 이전프레임과 현제프레임의 비로 나타낸 후 이 값의 일정 범위를 벗어나면 장면전환이 이루어진 것으로 간주하여 이에 알맞은 양자화 파라미터 결정기법을 적용하도록 하였다.

Response Reduction of a SDOF Structure based on Friction Force Ratio of MR Controller (MR제어기의 마찰력비에 따른 단자유도 구조물의 응답감소)

  • This study presents key parameters for the structure installed with MR controller in reducing its responses. MR controller is regarded as Bingham model of which control forces are frictional and viscous ones. The parameters are identified as friction force ratios, $R_f$ and $R_h$ which are, respectively, ratio of MR controller friction force to static restoring force for free vibration and ratio of the friction force to amplitude of harmonic force. Structure-MR controller system shows nonlinear response behavior due to friction force. Energy balance strategy is adopted to transform the behavior to linear one with equivalent damping ratio. Finally, proposed equivalent linear process is compared to the nonlinear one, which turns out to give acceptably good results.

  • Recent research suggests the various applications of Model Predictive Control on vehicle systems. In numerous cases, nonlinear tire models such as the Magic Formula, which are highly complex and are more detailed than necessary, are used. This paper presents a nonlinear tire model that excludes the region of negative slope but expresses the nonlinear properties of tire well enough for tracking the lane of a racing course. The proposed inverse tire model can also be used to calculate the slip angle from the tire force. Thus, the model can be utilized to design the Model Predictive Controller.

  • STATCOM은 전력 계통에 병렬로 연결되어 역률 보상, 전압 보상 그리고 비선형 부하에 의해 야기되는 불필요한 고조파 전류를 보상하는 기능을 한다. 고조파 전류의 경우 대개 전원 주파수의 배수 형태로 발생하며, 이를 보상하기 위해 활용될 수 있는 다양한 제어기 중 하나로써 반복 제어기를 적용하였다. 공진 제어기의 무한한 합과 등가인 반복제어기의 경우, 모든 배수 고조파에 대한 제어가 가능하기 때문에 다양한 부하에 의한 예측 불가능한 고조파 전류를 보상해야 하는 STATCOM 제어에 적합하다. 본 논문에서는 반복제어기를 적용한 고조파 전류 제어기를 소개하고, 그 성능을 15kVA 축소 모델 실험으로 검증한다.

Phase Noise Prediction of Phase-Locked Loop frequency Synthesizer for Satellite Communication System (위성통신 시스템용 위상 고정 루프 주파수 합성기의 위상 잡음 예측 모델)

  • The phase noise characteristics of the phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer were predicted based on the analysis for phase noise contribution of noise sources. The proposed phase noise model in this paper more accurately predicts the phase noise spectrum of frequency synthesizer. To accurately model the phase noise contribution of noise sources in frequency synthesizer, the phase noise sources were analyzed via modeling of the frequency divider and phase noise components using Leeson model for reference signal source and VCO. The phase noise transfer functions to VCO from noise sources were analyzed by superposition theory and linear operation of phase-locked loop. To evaluate the phase noise prediction model, the frequency synthesizers were fabricated and were evaluated by measured data and prediction data.
