Adaptive Beamwidth Control Technique for Low-orbit Satellites for QoS Performance improvement based on Next Generation Military Mobile Satellite Networks (차세대 군 모바일 위성 네트워크 QoS 성능 향상을 위한 저궤도 위성 빔폭 적응적 제어 기법)

  • Low-Orbit satellite mobile networks can provide services through miniaturized terminals with low transmission power, which can be used as reliable means of communication in the national public disaster network and defense sector. However, the high traffic environment in the emergency preparedness situation increases the new call blocking probability and the handover failure probability of the satellite network, and the increase of the handover failure probability affects the QoS because low orbit satellites move in orbit at a very high speed. Among the channel allocation methods of satellite communication, the FCA shows relatively better performance in a high traffic environment than DCA and is suitable for emergency preparedness situations, but in order to optimize QoS when traffic increases, the new call blocking and the handover failure must be minimized. In this paper, we propose LEO-DBC (LEO satellite dynamic beam width control) technique, which improves QoS by adaptive adjustment of beam width of low-orbit satellites and call time of terminals by improving FCA-QH method. Through the LEO-DBC technique, it is expected that the QoS of the mobile satellite communication network can be optimally maintained in high traffic environments in emergency preparedness situations.

  • Using current evacuation methods, a crew describes the physical location of an accident and guides evacuation using alarms and emergency guide lights. However, in case of an accident on a large and complex building, an intelligent and effective emergency evacuation system is required to ensure the safety of evacuees. Therefore, several studies have been performed on intelligent path finding and emergency evacuation algorithms which are centralized guidance methods using gathered data from distributed sensor nodes. However, another important aspect is effective rescue guidance in an emergency situation. So far, there has been no consideration on the efficient rescue guidance scheme. Therefore, this paper proposes the genetic algorithm based emergency rescue guidance method using distributed wireless sensor networks. Performance evaluation using a computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme guarantees efficient path finding. The fitness converges to the minimum value in reasonable time. The density of each exit node is remarkably decreased as well.

  • Fire is a disaster that causes irreversible damage to many people due to personal injury and property damage. Various fire detection equipments are installed around us to detect and cope with it quickly. However, due to various problems such as artificial, environmental, and aging, fire detection equipment is activated even though it is not a actual fire, and there are many problems such as delaying the support to the necessary fire scene. In this paper, we analyze the non-fire alarm of the fire detection equipment and propose a system that enables the field staff to check the scene situation through the video as a way to prevent the mobilization due to the misinformation by checking the fire. The purpose of the present invention is to stably cope with a disaster by suggesting a customized automatic guidance system which induces a rapid evacuation by sending an evacuation guidance notification to a range of a fire occurrence neighboring area, and supports a rapid and accurate processing by a rapid dispatch of a firefighter, rather than a wide range of guidance such as an existing emergency disaster guidance letter when it is determined to be an actual fire through the confirmation procedure.

  • The transportation network is a critical infrastructure in the event of natural and human caused disasters such as rainfall, snowfall, and terror and so on. Particularly, the transportation network in an urban area where a large number of population live is subject to be negatively affected from such events. Therefore, efficient traffic operation plans are required to assist rapid evacuation and effective detour of vehicles on the network as soon as possible. Recently, ubiquitous communication and sensor network technology is very useful to improve data collection and connection related emergency information. In this study, we develop a specific algorithm to provide evacuation route and detour information only for vehicles under emergency situations. Our algorithm is based on shortest path search technique and dynamic traffic assignment. We perform the case study to evaluate model performance applying hypothetical scenarios involved terror. Results show that the model successfully describe effective path for each vehicle under emergency situation.

  • Civil defense evacuation facilities currently installed in our country are necessary to survey the operating status. The purpose of this study is to survey on the current facility for civil defense evacuation facilities equipment, management, and problem analysis, research and to build a facility model of the standard formulation through the analysis on the actual condition of the civil defense evacuation facility. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the civil defense evacuation facilities are most in Seoul. Second, civil defense evacuation facilities proved to be checked periodically without a systematic management. Many facilities do not have communication facilities appear to be evacuated in an emergency situation is expected to have difficulty in contact with the outside world. Fourth, the old civil defense evacuation facilities are in the center of the metropolitan area.

인마새트 위성 서비스 동향 및 향후 전망

  • 전 세계에 위성이동통신 서비스를 제공하고 있는 인마새트 시스템은 해사통신 및 선박의 안전운항을 목적으로 UN산하 국제해사위성기구(INMARSAT: International Maritime Satellite Organization)로 설립되었다. 그 후 기존에 제공하던 해상 위주의 서비스 외에 항공 및 육상 이동통신서비스가 추가되면서 국제이동위성기구(INMARSAT: International Mobile Satellite Organization)라는 이름과 병행하여 사용하여 오다가 최근 민영화되었다. 이에 따라 인마새트는 육상, 해상, 항공서비스를 제공하면서 86개의 회원국으로 운영되어오다가 민영화되면서 이들 회원국은 모두 투자사로 전환되었다. 하지만 기존에 제공하여온 해상조난안전통신 등 공익성을 갖는 기능에 대해서는 향후에도 지속적인 서비스가 제공되도록 별도로 IMSO(International Maritime Satellite Organization)라는 감독기관을 두어 관장하고 있다. 인마새트는 전세계적으로 글로벌 위성이동통신 서비스를 최초로 제공한 이래 아직까지도 해상, 육상, 항공 등 전 분야에 통신서비스를 제공하는 유일한 사업자이다. 더구나 최근 저궤도 위성을 이용한 GMPCS의 성장추세가 예상보다 크게 둔화되면서 상대적으로 비용이 저렴한 정지궤도 위성 시스템인 인마새트 서비스가 더욱 활성화되는 추세이다. 이에 인마새트 서비스를 위한 신형 장비도 추가 개발되고 있으며 서비스 영역이 확장되는 등 그 중요성이 부각됨에 따라 향후 상당기간동안 인마새트 시스템에 부가기능을 추가하면서 재난시 비상연락수단은 물론이고 일상적인 통신수단의 영역까지 확대될 것으로 전망된다.인 방법이다. 활성물질의 생성시간과 가공시간은 불과 수십 $\mu\textrm{s}$ 및 수 sec 에 불과하므로, 1 kton/h 용량의 수산기활성제 제조장치의 환산소비동력은 약 200 kW이고, 장치의 체적은 10~30 ㎥의 공간으로 충분하므로, 소형선박으로 상당면적의 적조피해를 효과적으로 해결할 수 있다.의 특성을 이용하여 워터마크를 삽입한다.송 시스템을 구현될 수 있음을 검증하였다.출량을 비교한 결과 토사 유출 억제효과는 한지형과 나지형잔디들의 혼합형(MixtureIII)과 자생처리구(MixtureV), Italian ryegrass와 자생식물의 혼합형(MixtureIV)등에서 비교적 낮은 수치를 토사유출량을 기록하였다. 이러한 결과는 자생식물들이 비록 초기생육속도는 외래도입초종에 떨어지지만 토사유출의 억제효과면에서는 이들 외래초종에 필적할 수 있음을 나타낸다고 할 수 있겠다.중량이 약 115kg/$m^2$정도로 나타났다.소 들(환경의 의미, 사람의 목적과 지식)보다 미학적 경험에 주는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났으며, 모든 사람들에게 비슷한 미학적 경험을 발생시키는 것 이 밝혀졌다. 다시 말하면 모든 사람들은 그들의 문화적인 국적과 사회적 인 직업의 차이, 목적의 차이, 또한 환경의 의미의 차이에 상관없이 아름다 운 경관(High-beauty landscape)을 주거지나 나들이 장소로서 선호했으며, 아름답다고 평가했다. 반면에, 사람들이 갖고 있는 문화의 차이, 직업의 차 이, 목적의 차이, 그리고 환경의 의미의 차이에 따라 경관의 미학적 평가가 달라진 것으로 나타났다.corner$적 의도에 의한 경관구성의 일면을

Development of Embedded Board for Integrated Radiation Exposure Protection Fireman's Life-saving Alarm (일체형 방사선 피폭 방호 소방관 인명구조 경보기의 임베디드 보드 개발)

  • In this paper, we propose the development of embedded board for integrated radiation exposure protection fireman's life-saving alarm capable of location tracking and radiation measurement. The proposed techniques consist of signal processing unit, communication unit, power unit, main control unit. Signal processing units apply shielding design, noise reduction technology and electromagnetic wave subtraction technology. The communication unit is designed to communicate using the wifi method. In the main control unit, power consumption is reduced to a minimum, and a high performance system is formed through small, high density and low heat generation. The proposed techniques are equipment operated by exposure to poor conditions, such as disaster and fire sites, so they are designed and manufactured for external appearance considering waterproof and thermal endurance. The proposed techniques were tested by an authorized testing agency to determine the effectiveness of embedded board. The waterproof grade has achieved the IP67 rating, which can maintain stable performance even when flooded with water at the disaster site due to the nature of the fireman's equipment. The operating temperature was measured in the range of -10℃ to 50℃ to cope with a wide range of environmental changes at the disaster site. The battery life was measured to be available 144 hours after a single charge to cope with emergency disasters such as a collapse accident. The maximum communication distance, including the PCB, was measured to operate at 54.2 meters, a range wider than the existing 50 meters, at a straight line with the command-and-control vehicle in the event of a disaster. Therefore, the effectiveness of embedded board for embedded board for integrated radiation exposure protection fireman's life-saving alarm has been demonstrated.

IoT-based Smart Tunnel Accident Alert System (사물 인터넷 기반의 스마트 터널 사고 경보 시스템)

  • Tunnels have limited evacuation areas, and It is difficult for cars coming from behind to recognize the accident situation in front. Since an accident is very likely to lead to a serious secondary accident, a IoT-based smart tunnel accident warning system was studied to prepare for traffic accidents that occur in tunnels. If the measured values from the flame detection sensor, gas detection sensor, and shock detection sensor in the tunnel exceed the standard, it is judged to be an emergency situation and an alert system is designed to operate. The accident information message was designed to be displayed on the LCD and transmitted to drivers inside and outside the tunnel through a Wi-Fi communication network. A performance test system was established and performance evaluation was performed for several accident scenarios. As a result of the test, it was confirmed that the accident alert system can accurately detect accidents based on given reference values, perform alert procedures, and transmit alert messages to smart phones through Wi-Fi wireless communication. And through this, its effectiveness could be confirmed.

  • The fire protection system for high-rise buildings is currently confined to the preparation of sprinklers, emergency stairs, and exit and monitoring systems. On the other hand, an integrated system, including the model with scenario-based actions, is required for effective fire protection. An integrated fire protection system is needed to operate and manage the total cycle of the fire protection. In this study, an integrated fire protection system, which included sensing and consequent processes related to fire emergencies, was designed and implemented. The designed scheme can gather and analyze the data of the production, operation, and consumption patterns as it integrates fire protection systems for fire fighters and evacuating people. The integrated fire protection technology and system, which has target performance with satisfied 1/2 sec transaction response time and 1.2 transactions per second, is expected to contribute to market creation in converged technology-based fire protection fields.

  • Ad-Hoc network is a network architecture which has no backbone network and is deployed temporarily and rapidly in emergency or war without fixed mobile infrastructures. All communications between network entities are carried in ad-hoc networks over the wireless medium. Due to the radio communications being extremely vulnerable to propagation impairments, connectivity between network nodes is not guaranteed. Therefore, many new algorithms have been studied recently. This study proposes the secondary header approach to the cluster based routing protocol (CBRP). The primary header becomes abnormal status so that the primary header can not participate in the communications between network entities, the secondary header immediately replaces the primary header without selecting process of the new primary header. This improves the routing interruption problem that occurs when a header is moving out from a cluster or in the abnormal status. The performances of proposed algorithm ACBRP(Advanced Cluster Based Routing Protocol) are compared with CBRP. The cost of the primary header reelection of ACBRP is simulated. And results are presented in order to show the effectiveness of the algorithm.
